Undead Evolution: From Trash To Divine-Chapter 29 - Tommy Evolving! Four Evolution Path
Inside one of the rooms of the Whitewood Inn, Lukas sat down cross-legged, his eyes closed in deep focus. He silently circulated the Night Dipper Star Energy Gathering Technique. Following the mysterious sequence, the star energy present in both of his stars slowly started to circulate, generating a current that soon turned into a weak vortex, attracting the star essence from somewhere deep in the void.
Even though all the requirements for evolution had already been met, Lukas wasn’t in a rush. Once he pressed yes, there would be no going back. To prepare himself to deal with unforeseen circumstances, he needed to be in peak condition.
Time continued to pass without him realizing it. Lukas had been meditating deep into the night. Both of his stars were finally brimmed to the limit with star energy, the mental exhaustion washing away.
Then Lukas’s eyes suddenly sprang open. Opening his mouth, he let out a breath of turbid air.
"I have returned to my peak state. Wasting any more time would be plain stupid..." Lukas lightly muttered under his breath.
Compared to last time, the number of awakeners inside the Roaring Dragon settlement was exponentially greater. It was a clear sign the disaster was fast approaching.
With that thought in mind, he wasted no time and spoke in a solemn tone.
"Come out, Tommy. It is time for you to evolve!"
The space directly opposite Lukas slightly distorted, twisting and turning. With a creaking noise, the Astral Bone Vanguard dropped onto the wooden floor, the astral runes carved on its bony figure lighting up the entire room.
Lukas paid no attention to this. He had already brought up the evolutionary window and clicked Yes.
[Warning! Are you sure you want to proceed with evolution? Please note this is a point of no return. Once the process starts, there will be no reversing. Astral Bone Vanguard will enter deep sleep and be unable to be summoned for exactly twenty-four hours.]
[Yes / No]
He had already expected something like this, so he wasn’t surprised. With a decisive look flashing in his eyes, he ignored the warning and pressed Yes once more.
Immediately the blue screen rippled again, the text rearranging itself into a list of paths that the Astral Bone Vanguard could take.
[All evolutionary conditions met.]
[Your Rare Grade Astral Bone Vanguard is ready to evolve.]
[Please choose the path which you want the skeleton to follow.]
[Available Paths:]
[1. Meteor Juggernaut]
[2. Astral Grave Predator]
[3. Gravity-Bound Bone Colossus]
[4. Astral War Revenant]
Lukas’s eyes flashed with slight surprise after seeing there was one more path compared to last time. Moreover, from the names of each of these paths, it was clear they were influenced by the monsters that Tommy had assimilated.
While thinking, Lukas unconsciously clicked on the first path, Meteor Juggernaut, expecting nothing. However, to his surprise, the blue window rippled and an additional smaller window giving a brief overview of the path appeared.
"Okay... this wasn’t something I was expecting," Lukas yelped, caught off guard.
Last time he had been given no additional information.
Still, he wasn’t going to complain. With a slightly solemn look on his face, he considered the information seriously.
[Meteor Juggernaut – an evolution path born from the fusion of Cometfang Wolf and Starforged Minotaur. The evolution turns the Astral Bone Vanguard into a charging battering ram.]
Key traits:
• Speed increases continuously while moving forward
• Each step generates gravity pressure that can crush nearby enemies
• Star runes become denser, allowing greater absorption of star energy
• Skeleton gains high resistance to heavy impacts
[Astral Grave Predator – a silent epic-grade hunter born from star energy and predatory instinct, influenced by Cometfang Wolf and Verdant Monarch. The evolution turns Astral Bone Vanguard into an agile hunter capable of regenerating lost bones while hunting.]
Key traits:
• Meteor momentum
• Enhanced mobility and tracking abilities
[Gravity-Bound Bone Colossus – a massive skeleton warrior that dominates the battlefield.]
"So this Gravity-Bound Colossus is more focused on area control, effective against large groups of enemies..."
Lukas muttered while shaking his head, not feeling impressed. After all, the skills Tommy seemed to gain from evolution were things Lukas already had.
He was slightly disappointed.
Still, there was one path left. He wondered if that could surprise him.
[Astral War Revenant – this path builds upon Astral Bone Vanguard’s existing structure, doubling its ability to absorb star energy while also combining the characteristics of the three paths listed above. A balanced epic-tier frontline undead that grows stronger as battle continues.]
After reading through the description, Lukas had already made his decision.
This was it.
Although the first three paths were impressive, they didn’t have the ability to absorb star energy as their main focus. Even if they did, it was secondary.
Lukas didn’t like that one bit.
The moment Lukas confirmed the evolution, Tommy’s skeleton froze where it stood.
For a brief second, nothing happened.
Then the space around the skeleton began to tremble.
A faint glow seeped from the cracks between the bones, thin lines of pale starlight spreading across the skeletal frame like newly forming constellations. The air around Tommy grew heavy, as if invisible gravity had suddenly thickened.
The bones lifted from the ground.
One by one they separated, drifting upward into the air as if pulled by some unseen force.
The soul fire in its skull dimmed slightly before flaring with newfound intensity. A low hum filled the room.
Lukas’s expression changed with worry. The commotion might attract the attention of outsiders.
Just as he was starting to get concerned, suddenly Tommy’s figure disappeared, vanishing into an unknown dimension.
Watching this scene, Lukas sighed thankfully.
Tommy had entered hibernation in time. Otherwise, he couldn’t even imagine the consequences.
Now he needed to wait twenty-four hours patiently.
Lukas did exactly that.
With Tommy gone, he had practically lost both of his limbs, so he didn’t dare even step outside and simply waited.
Time continued to pass like flowing water.
Night turned to day and back to night again.
Without even realizing it, twenty hours passed in the blink of an eye.
[Congratulations! Your Rare Grade Astral Bone Vanguard has finished evolving into Astral War Revenant, an Epic Grade summon.]
[Ding! New skills unlocked: Sacrifice, Minor Summon Authority.]
