Chapter 59: Princess Seraphina Nightveil

The lights flickered back on.

The moment they did, gasps echoed across the auction hall.

The center of the stage... was empty.

The glass frame that had once held the legendary Mosalina was gone—completely vanished.

"W-What!?" Arion stumbled back, nearly dropping his mic. "Where... where is the painting?!"

He turned, shouting toward the side of the stage. "Check everywhere! Every room! NOW!"

Staff members rushed in all directions. Panic spread like fire through the hall.

"Seal the exits!" Arion barked. "Nobody leaves! Not a single guest, not even VIPs!"

Security guards sprinted to every exit, locking them down as murmurs and panic grew louder.

Trevor inside VIP Room 8 was frozen in disbelief. "It’s gone... the painting’s really gone!"

Gregory, face twisted in confusion, immediately dialed a number. "Master..." he said as the call connected, "is this your doing? Is this part of the plan?"

On the other end, silence.

Then, finally, a calm voice spoke. "Yes."

Gregory’s eyes widened. "You... you really planned this?"

The voice continued. "Listen carefully. I will now tell you where it is. Go secure it immediately. Be quick. I’m heading to the stage. If neither of us show up... they’ll start suspecting us."

"Yes, Master," Gregory said quickly and stood up. "Trevor, come on. We’ve got work to do."

Meanwhile, the main hall was drowning in noise.

"Who dares steal from here!?"

"How did they do it? The security was insane!"

"There’s no way someone pulled this off without help!"

But inside VIP Room No.1, the atmosphere was... completely calm.

Ethan leaned back, arms behind his head, completely relaxed like he was watching a late-night comedy show.

Natalie crossed her arms, giving him a long side-eye. "How the fuck you are always right?"

Rhea looked toward him . "Ethan, how did you know this?"

Jasmine tilted her head. "Damn, your prediction was right."

Ethan didn’t respond. He just smiled.

The auction advisor standing beside them, on the other hand, was on the verge of sweating through his white gloves.

"Relax," Ethan said, standing up slowly. "Let’s go."

"Huh?" Jasmine blinked. "Where?"

"To the stage," Ethan said calmly, fixing his sleeves. "Let’s see how the play ends."

In VIP Room 5, Gregory ended the call, face grim.

"Master says he’s going down to the stage. We need to move fast."

Trevor nodded.

"We’ll get it," Gregory said sharply. "We have to."

At the same time, in VIP Room No.10,a completely separate story was unfolding.

A woman dressed in an elegant gown stood by the window. She turned to the masked man seated beside her.

"Let’s go, Luke," she said.

He stood up silently, his eyes locked on the chaos down below.

On the stage,

Arion was gripping the edge of the podium, his forehead soaked in sweat. "Dad, did you find anything?" he asked as Virgil walked up the steps, looking visibly tired.

"No. Nothing." Virgil’s voice was heavy.

Arion rubbed his temples, frustrated. "How the hell did the lights even go out like that?"

He turned toward the staff and snapped, roaring, "Check the control room again! I want the backup logs, security footage, everything!"

The staff flinched and scattered.

Virgil raised a hand. "Calm down."

"Calm down? Dad, our auction hall’s reputation is on the verge of collapse. That was supposed to be the highlight of the year!"

Virgil didn’t respond immediately, then finally barked out orders himself, "Everyone, sweep the entire building again. Storage rooms, back exits, stairwells,go!"

Just then, footsteps echoed across the stage.

Two men approached.

The first was bald, sharp-suited, and walked with stern precision. He was the one who had introduced himself earlier as Master Yun’s representative.

The second man walked beside him in silence.

He wore a long, flowing robe, deep purple in color with golden accents running along the sleeves and collar. His hands were clasped behind his back. A silver mask covered his face completely, but on the chest of his robe was the exact same crest that Arion had confirmed earlier, the emblem of Master Yun.

The murmurs across the crowd started instantly.

"Master Yun... He’s really here!"

"He’s gracing us with his presence!"

"Wait, is he going to speak? Someone record this!"

Someone even started praying.

Virgil straightened and stepped forward. "Master Yun."

The man nodded slightly, his masked face unreadable. Then he spoke, voice calm and airy.

"This is all... destiny’s plan. I warned everyone to stop the bidding. I saw it,the painting’s destiny was unstable."

He turned his masked face toward the stunned audience.

"I wished to intervene... to buy the painting and change its path. Once its fate was rewritten, I would have returned it to this hall. But... it seems destiny chose otherwise."

"Master Yun saw the painting’s destiny?"

"Is that even possible?"

"Don’t you dare question Master Yun’s wisdom!"

Virgil clenched his jaw but said nothing.

Then suddenly, a new voice sliced through the tension.

"Heh... you can see destiny?"

The voice belonged to a woman, regal and composed. She descended from the stairs at the far left of the stage, dressed in a sleek midnight royal gown, her black veil flowing like liquid shadow. Her presence was elegant yet commanding.

At her side walked a tall man in a perfectly tailored black formal suit, the kind reserved for high-level state banquets. The slim-fit jacket hugged his form, a silver brooch pinned neatly to his chest bearing the royal family’s crest.

Gasps exploded from the crowd.

"W-Wait... that’s—!"

"It’s her! That’s Princess Seraphina Nightveil!"

"And that’s her knight,Luke Nightwalker!"

"The royal family was here?! She was in VIP Room 10?!"

"No wonder she could outbid Master Yun!"

Arion nearly choked. Virgil froze.

On the stage, the mysterious man,Master Yun,stood silently.

Princess Seraphina smiled faintly. "Now that you’re here, Master Yun... Can you still see the painting’s destiny?"

Master Yun didn’t answer immediately. Behind his mask, his expression twisted slightly.

"Tch... I didn’t expect her to be involved," he thought.

"I’m sorry, Princess," he said aloud, bowing slightly. "I cannot look any further into its destiny."

"So... you’re useless," Seraphina said coldly.

A visible twitch ran across Master Yun’s masked face, but he remained still, offering no rebuttal.

Virgil and Arion immediately dropped to one knee.

"Princess Seraphina," Virgil said quickly, "We... We deeply apologize. We failed to protect the painting. This is a grave failure on our part."

Seraphina raised a hand. "Stand up. Both of you."

They obeyed immediately.

She looked over the crowd and said clearly, "That painting was meant to be a gift for my father. Therefore, I offer this, whoever finds and returns Mosalina to me, I will personally reward them with a prize of $300 million."

The entire hall erupted.

"Three hundred million!?"

"A royal reward!"

"I’m going to start searching right now!"

Back in the audience, Ethan finally stood up from his seat in the VIP Room and stepped onto the stage with an amused expression.

His hands in his pockets, he looked at the princess, the knight, the masked "master," and the stunned crowd.

He chuckled.

"Damn... another main character just dropped."
