Tyler didn’t question him. He simply nodded, said goodbye to Fang and Moko before pulling Alex out of the Totem.

When Alex came out, Tyler felt a bit strange.

Then, he realized he couldn’t access Rapid Regeneration anymore. This power came from Alex.

Sensing his loss of skill, Alex sighed.

"I have been trying to understand the information I was given during my birth. Within a year, I have learned a lot."

"When your skill upgrades to Epic Rank, a part of it gets imprinted into your brain, allowing you to use the skill without the need for stamina."

Hearing that, Tyler clapped his hands together.

"Oh, that’s why I can’t release the power of my skill without activating it. The activation is directly linked to my stamina and ability crystal."

"But, how does this work? I mean, how does the skill get imprinted in my brain?"

Alex speechlessly stared at his master and said.

"How am I supposed to know that?"

Tyler got embarrassed as he rubbed the back of his head and said.

"Sorry, I forgot about that."

Alex waved his hand and said.

"Anyway, I need to prepare the Protection Formation that I recently learned. I will place it across the city."

"By the way, I am not sure what kind of challenge you are gonna face soon, but it felt devastating."

Hearing that, even Tyler felt troubled.

After all, something that could be devastating meant it was going to be an attack on an abnormally high level.

Suddenly, Misaka appeared in his room, radiating a little bit of her killing intent.

Since this wasn’t directed at Tyler, he didn’t feel it.

But Alex faced the full power of her killing intent, which was enough to destroy the minds of even Fourth Rank hunters.

He simply shook his head, and a golden energy appeared around his body.

"Lord, you might explain my existence soon."

He turned his head around and spoke.

Only then did Tyler realize what was happening and hurriedly spoke.

"Stop it, Misaka! He is my Totem creature."

When he said that, Misaka immediately interrupted her killing intent, but she looked at him with confusion.

"But sir, if he is your totem creature, why doesn’t he have an Aura similar to yours?"

Hearing that, Tyler also looked at Alex and asked.

"Yeah, I forgot to ask this before. Why is this?"

Alex rolled his eyes and explained.

"Just because you are our creator doesn’t mean you molded us with your energy. No, you just use the Natural Energy and your ability to create us."

"At that time, you desired safety, protection. So when you were awakening, you awakened an ability that could protect you from any kind of threats."

"Of course, you couldn’t comprehend what kind of threats you will face. You just wanted something or someone to protect you."

"Totem Creation works by using Natural Energy to create Totem Creatures. Totem Creatures are no different than living beings, but they are in a symbiotic relationship with you."

"You can survive without us, but we can’t survive with you. Natural Energy doesn’t have any sort of recognizable presence, but only yours can help us survive."

"That’s why whenever we are inside your Totem, you get our powers. But once we leave, that power disappears."

"Unless you have accessed our power for long enough. And, here, attachment period doesn’t mean time but rather connection."

"Our connections with each rank, and if we reach Epic Rank, you will get our abilities. At least, that’s how I think abilities are imprinted in your brain."

Hearing that, Misaka showed a look of understanding as she said.

"So, that’s how your ability works. That’s why I didn’t sense any relationship between you two."

Tyler still looked confused as he asked.

"Wait, I don’t understand."

Misaka calmly explained.

"Sir, abilities do not consume stamina. We use stamina to utilize our skills, but activating abilities requires Natural Energy."

"And since our crystal merges with the Natural Energy and releases a unique energy to enhance our strength upon reaching First Rank."

"That energy improves our cells, merging some of its quality into our cells. That quality can be considered energy itself."

"And, that energy is the core part of the Natural Energy, something that is required to activate the ability."

Alex chimed in.

"And when you created us, you wanted us to protect you. Totem Creation has a unique function that allows it the ability to absorb Natural Energy on its own."

"That means we can absorb the Natural Energy that enters your body every single time. So, we can get exhausted, and we aren’t that powerful from the start."

"But if you need an extra hand, an extra protector, we can come out of the Totem and protect you. It wouldn’t matter if you don’t have stamina or Aura."

Hearing that, Tyler released a deep breath and said.

"So, that’s the mechanism of my ability."

"Your ability is quite amazing, sir. I have never seen an ability such as this. But this ability perfectly makes sense to your most desired wish."

Tyler smiled at her words.

Yeah! When he came to this world, he was all alone, and that loneliness scared him.

That’s why even more than protection, his ability was born to be a friend with him.

It was quite a surprise that it took him a whole year to realize it.

But he was happy. His wish was fulfilled, and now, he not only had totem creatures but also friends outside his totems.

"Oh, sorry, Sir! I came here in such a hurry that I forgot I was in the middle of my discussion with John."

"It’s okay. You can return. Take him with you. He is going to put a barrier around our city."

As he said that, he returned to his chair while Alex and Misaka left the room.

"So, what kind of barrier can you use?" Misaka asked while walking next to him.

"I have been learning several different techniques. They are unique as they appeared in my brain at the moment of my birth."

"I call them Techniques. They allow me to channel my Natural Energy to utilize my functions."

"Such as...."

He raised his hand, and a yellow light appeared on top of his finger.

"Light Element?" Misaka asked.

"Yeah! I have learned several Light Runes that allow me to tap into the true strength of the Light Element."

"Golden Light Formation is a basic formation that can be made with Light Element."

"I have several different ideas in my head. I also plan to improve the Golden Light Formation."

Hearing that, Misaka stared at him with confusion and asked.

"Don’t you share the same abilities as Lord?"

Alex chuckled at her question and asked.

"If we share the same abilities, why would he need us to protect him? He could’ve just awakened a Summoning Type power, right?"

"Fang is even perfect for summoning ability. He is a Dragon with the power of Fire, Lightning, and Wind."

"But no, he awakened Totem Creation because this is the only creation-type ability that allows him to impart knowledge that he didn’t know."

Hearing that, Misaka’s eyes widened.

"How did Lord get his hands on such a powerful Natural Fruit?"

Alex shrugged his shoulders and said.

"I wasn’t even born at that moment. How would I know? I just know that Fang was the firstborn while Moko was the second one."

"Moko?" Misaka questioned.

"He is ant. Somehow, Lord thought having an ant would be a better choice for his abilities. Though I would say he wasn’t wrong."

Alex replied.

"Moko has the ability to cause fifty times more than his rank. But he can’t sustain that kind of strength for long."

"On the other hand, my abilities are pretty simple. Light Element allows me to bless others, regenerate wounds, create complex light structures, and even weapons."

"Lord mainly wanted regeneration, so it is what he got. Then again, my complex set of abilities isn’t perfect for him."

"I just hope he can reach Seventh Rank faster so I can fight beside him."

Hearing that, Misaka smiled and said.

"And, we need to make sure he does."

Alex also smiled at that response. Soon, they visited the police station, where Misaka introduced Alex to John and others.

Their identities were similar. Since Tyler lied about her being a Totem creature.

John and others quickly accepted him despite his strangely long ears. They weren’t aware of any elves living in the Astral Continent.

After they talked about setting podium in the middle of the city, they also chose nighttime for execution.

Misaka chose nighttime for two reasons.

First, they needed to hide Khalim’s identity.

Second, they needed to make sure none of the children saw the execution.

For this, Misaka specifically asked John to inform everyone about the execution at midnight.

After settling that, she and Alex went to the watch tower where the runes of the Golden Light Formation were kept.

And, this was where Alex showed his true strength.
