Tyrannical Tycoon Haunts Me Relentlessly-Chapter 566: Always in My Heart 16
Who would have thought that Young Master Ling of the Gu Family would actually go back on his word?
However, to avoid worrying the Old Madam, Xia Yinian decided not to make a fuss about it.
The door to the hospital room was knocked on twice, and then someone pushed it open and came in.
Turning her head for a glance, Xia Yinian’s gaze once again fell onto her medical book.
Although it was a very brief emotional shift, Gu Lingqian knew that Nian Nian did not like seeing this woman.
The two of them, just like before, one was reading a book and the other was feeding porridge to the reader, completely ignoring the person who had just come in.
Yu Wanqing extremely disliked being ignored like this. It was bad enough that Xia Yinian pretended not to see her, but she hadn’t expected Gu Lingqian to do the same.
Although she was a year younger than him, whenever she appeared at the Gu Family, everyone treated her with courtesy.
Taking a deep breath, Yu Wanqing didn’t want to argue with Gu Lingqian.
Today, her purpose for coming wasn’t him.
"Nian Nian, how come such a big incident happened and you didn’t inform me?" Yu Wanqing walked over with a worried expression.
She sat down on Xia Yinian’s bed as if she was very familiar.
"Ling Qian must have been worried all night, right? I’ll take care of Nian Nian; you can go back and rest."
Lady Qing, who typically appeared calm and dignified, seemed so anxious for a girl, one would think she genuinely cared about the person on the bed.
Unfortunately, the two people in the room knew that was not the case.
Xia Yinian knew she must have some motive for coming, and since she couldn’t avoid it, she didn’t want to.
Avoidance wasn’t due to fear; she simply didn’t want to waste time.
She closed the medical book and looked at the woman in front of her.
"Is there something you need?" Xia Yinian’s voice was very light, showing little emotional change.
"I heard you were injured, so I rushed over early in the morning to take care of you," Yu Wanqing said softly.
Xia Yinian frowned slightly, wondering if such words might make her sick.
"I’m fine, you can leave now."
"How can that be? You are Ling Qian’s fiancée, hence a member of the Gu Family; it’s only right for me to take care of you." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Yu Wanqing looked at Gu Lingqian and reached out both hands.
"Ling Qian, you go and rest for a while; I can handle things here."
Xia Yinian gave Yu Wanqing a cold look, unsure where she got the confidence to say she was one of the Gu Family’s people.
"Aunt Yu, since when did you become a member of the Gu Family? I wasn’t aware," Xia Yinian said flatly.
The address "Aunt Yu" made Yu Wanqing pause for a moment, but after half a second, she collected herself.
It was better to let her feel good about herself for now—soon she would understand what true despair is.
"Nian Nian, you really love to joke," Yu Wanqing said, glancing at Xia Yinian.
It felt as if she, being the elder, didn’t want to argue with the younger generation.
Turning back to look at Gu Lingqian, Yu Wanqing said softly, "Ling Qian, you’ve had a hard time, let me handle this."
"Brother Ling, I’m full. You go ahead and take care of things," Xia Yinian said to Gu Lingqian.
Yu Wanqing must have something important to say to come so early.
Even when Xia Yinian addressed her as "Aunt Yu," she wasn’t upset; it seemed like she had a lot to say.
Let her speak; she won’t leave until her goals are unmet.
To save a bit of time, the sooner this matter is resolved, the better.
Gu Lingqian looked at Xia Yinian, not wanting to leave.
Understanding Yu Wanqing’s nature, he was concerned that Nian Nian might get hurt as generally, one doesn’t go to the Temple of the Three Treasures without a reason.
