After a long day, Hailey and Finn Morgan returned to their room early, sitting in front of the vanity to remove their makeup and prepare for bed.
The two finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"You’ve worked hard, Hailey dear."
Finn stood behind her, gently placing his hands on her shoulders, gazing at the girl in the mirror removing her earrings.
"I didn’t realize how exhausting weddings could be, with so many procedures and ceremonies. But it’s finally done." The girl wore a blissful smile, "My mind’s still a bit foggy."
"The ceremonies aren’t over yet; we have to visit your parents tomorrow," Finn told her.
Hailey remained still and asked, "What’s visiting my parents?"
"It’s when we go to your place after getting married, see your parents, have an official meal at your home, or maybe stay the night."
"No problem!" Hailey beamed, "I’ll ask my mom to make something delicious for you!"
"Thank you!"
Finn playfully tapped her nose and then helped her take off the hair accessories.
After Hailey went into the bathroom, Finn made a call to the hospital.
He briefly inquired about Melissa Merce’s situation.
"Don’t worry, Special Assistant Morgan. Melissa is not in any immediate danger, but..."
"But what?" Finn asked softly, "Please, just tell me." He was already mentally prepared.
"It’s just that her organ failure is progressing rapidly, and she might not hold on for much longer. I advise against her leaving the hospital."
Finn asked, "Have her parents arrived?"
"They just did." The doctor added, "Melissa just woke up and keeps asking if she can see you."
Finn thought for a moment and said reluctantly, "Please tell her I’ll visit when I have time."
"Certainly. I’ll faithfully relay the message."
Finn hung up, feeling a bit heavy-hearted. He could only deeply regret Melissa’s situation.
Hailey emerged from the bathroom after her shower, wearing the light blue long-sleeve pajamas Finn had bought for her, her damp hair falling over her chest, looking cute and playful.

He had already prepared a hairdryer and a dry towel, playing the role of a perfect gentleman.
