Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1259: A Night Destined to Be Unusual
Trevor spoke in a low tone, clearly explaining to her, "William is in a wheelchair because of a leg injury, and when I arrived in Eldoria, I found out that his injury is fake."
"I’m currently at Darcy Manor. His daughter is turning 18 tomorrow, and I’m designated to be her dance partner at tonight’s ball."
"The banquet is astonishingly grand, comparable to a royal wedding, with details resembling a wedding banquet."
"Some people proactively greeted me warmly, looking at me with envy, yet I have no impression of them."
"And when I mentioned the partnership to him, he said..."
"Buzz, buzz, buzz..." Mia Lane heard the signal interrupted with a busy tone, "Brother? Hello! Brother?"
In the hospital, she quickly redialed, but Trevor’s phone would no longer connect.
Trevor finished recounting his discussion about the partnership with William, only to realize communication had failed after waiting for his sister’s response.
He redialed his sister’s number, which showed connection failure.
Trevor stared at his phone, his brow furrowing deeply as a bad premonition arose.
This was human intervention, disrupting his contact with the outside world. Thankfully, he made the call just in time.
"Mr. Trevor, have you changed your clothes?" Lucy knocked on the door outside, asking.
Trevor snapped back to reality, quickly stashing his phone, grabbing the clothes he had chosen, and replied while changing, "Just a moment, I’ll be ready soon!"
Downstairs, in the lavish banquet hall.
William’s face looked sour as he reprimanded his subordinate in a low voice, "How could you forget something so important?"
"I’m sorry, sir. Fortunately, it’s not too late; he’s just gone up to change clothes."
William narrowed his cold eyes, "You may leave."
"Yes, sir."
The signal jamming was supposed to occur the moment Trevor entered the manor, but now, clearly, it’s delayed by several hours.
Hopefully, nothing went wrong, and he’s merely gone up to change clothes.
The duet piano piece by two girls just concluded, with deafening applause ringing out in the venue.
William also withdrew from his thoughts.
Demi and Janelle Mills rose hand in hand, smiling as they proceeded to the center of the stage, bowing respectfully to everyone.
Demi surveyed the stage but didn’t see Trevor, inevitably feeling a bit disappointed.
After stepping down from the stage, she couldn’t help but ask her father, "Daddy, where’s Mr. Trevor? Did he go back to his room to rest? The ball isn’t over yet."
It was clear that the daughter really liked Trevor. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
William lovingly patted her little head, "To be worthy of you, he’s gone up to change clothes."
Upon hearing this, the girl felt delighted and her face lit up with joy.
Soon, Trevor appeared at the top of the stairs.
Demi went up to him, "This outfit looks fantastic!" She reached out to adjust his tie, appearing quite intimate.
Trevor maintained a gentle demeanor, "I’d like to rest for a while first, is that okay?"
"Are you hungry?" the girl lifted her gaze, blinking her beautiful eyes, "How about we grab a bite first?"
"Alright." Trevor didn’t decline.
Demi happily took Janelle’s arm, "Janelle, let’s go out and eat. The moonlight is especially beautiful tonight! Let’s go get some fresh air!"
With the sound of live dance music echoing, people continued to dance in the banquet hall.
The three of them left the banquet hall and picked food next to the long table in the courtyard.
William didn’t notice anything unusual because his daughter and Trevor were chatting happily, and Lucy’s report indicated everything was normal. Since Trevor couldn’t leave, he didn’t worry much.
"Demi, which fruit wine tastes better?" Janelle Mills was selecting wines in the beverage section, uncertain about her choice.
Demi enthusiastically offered, "I’ll go get you guys some grape wine! That flavor is really pure!" After saying this, she turned and headed towards the banquet hall.
Trevor took this opportunity, naturally coming to Janelle’s side, whispering, "Can your phone make calls? Seems like the signal is deliberately jammed."
