Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1050: The Eldest Miss Has Returned
Mia turned her eyes to him, "Still mad?"
He didn’t answer, nor did he leave.
"There’s really nothing between Trevor and me, it was just that one time, and you happened to see it." She felt helpless.
Justin Kingston kept his face cold, as if he wanted to hear more from her.
"Yes, I should have let go of his hand," Mia admitted, "but I was so confused at the time! My mind was full of Joan Graham and Sean Dalton, I didn’t think about it that much! Why do you keep holding on to it?"
"I feel like cutting off his hand," Justin turned his eyes to her and said, not joking at all.
Mia shook her head speechlessly. He held the umbrella and took a step forward. Mia took his arm, "You petty man!"
Justin had brought some gifts for the visit. He wasn’t really angry, just uncomfortable, wanting to show her the seriousness of the situation to prevent it from happening again.
The couple stepped into the brightly lit living room.
Ethan Dalton stood on the stairs. Seeing Mia and Justin coming in, his eyes carried a hint of a smile.
"Dad."
After entering, Mia greeted the man who stood up in front of the sofa.
"Dad." Justin slightly raised the corners of his lips, his expression gentle, and uttered that word.
This moved Mia greatly, as that word must be very unfamiliar to Justin, a thorn in his heart.
David Dalton was very pleased with their arrival, immediately breaking into a smile.
But for David Dalton, he was still worried about Sean Dalton’s situation. After all, his life was hanging by a thread, and it was said that he lost a lot of blood, but no one knew the exact situation.
So, David Dalton said to them, "Your Aunt Graham just called and said Sean Dalton had an accident, he’s in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment, the situation is very serious, and his life is uncertain."
Mia could see her father’s worry and concern. She looked at Justin, wondering if she was too cold-hearted?
Seeing Joan Graham so helpless by the roadside, she didn’t even help call 911.
But Justin’s eyes were like mist, his expression colder, looking as if it had nothing to do with him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Then she heard Justin say to his father, "Dad, shall we go with you?"
Mia understood this wasn’t out of concern; he just wanted to purely know if Sean Dalton was dead or not.
"No need." David Dalton told them, "Dinner is ready. You two eat first, no need to wait for me. I’ll go check and return, sorry."
Mia watched her father take the car keys and step out. A servant held an umbrella open for him.
Watching his back, she suddenly had an urge not to break up this family.
"Serves him right."
Mia looked up to see Justin with a face full of thinly veiled anger, truly lacking any kindness.
Justin noticed his wife’s thoughts and quickly put away his jealousy.
He took her hand proactively, "Don’t think too much, Sean Dalton brought this on himself, thanks to his mother, it has nothing to do with us. This is what they call divine retribution, I don’t even have to lift a finger."
"Don’t gloat about it, Dad is very worried." Mia was concerned about her father’s state, could he handle Sean Dalton really being in trouble?
After twenty years of being together, there must be some feelings involved, right?
Dad must be very upset...
Until Mia inadvertently saw a small boy standing on the stairs, watching them intently.
The small boy quietly stood there, holding the railing.
"..." Mia met his gaze and stepped towards him.
At this time, Butler Warren came out from the side hall. Having received instructions from Mr. Dalton, she couldn’t hide her excitement upon seeing Mia, "Miss Mia...!"
Mia stopped and turned her eyes to this middle-aged woman.
Her face was full of wrinkles, the marks of time were so evident, tears welling in her eyes as she stood still.
"Butler Warren?" Mia slightly raised the corners of her lips, she remembered her.
"Miss Mia, it really is you!" Butler Warren quickly walked towards her, standing in front of her, a bit at a loss, with ripples already stirring in her heart.
Butler Warren was a good person, but after spending so much time with Joan Graham and her daughter, there were some things the masters ordered that she couldn’t refuse to do.
She had served their daily needs all these years and had taken quite a bit of flak.
