Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1037: Sean Dalton Driven into a Corner
"Alright, Mr. Dalton." Butler Warren bowed.
"Dad..." Sean Dalton’s emotions were complex, forcing a smile and summoning the courage to ask, "Who exactly is coming to our home tomorrow?" Eating with us is fine, but they’ll be staying here too.
Joan Graham picked up her chopsticks and instinctively glanced at the middle-aged man beside her. Is it Mia Lane?
David Dalton’s expression was calm, "Won’t you find out tomorrow? Hurry up and eat. Here, Ethan, have another piece of meat and grow tall!"
The topic was dropped, and no one spoke again at the table.
After dinner, Sean Dalton quickly went upstairs because her phone, set to vibrate, had been buzzing non-stop.
At the landing of the stairs, she glanced at the missed calls—there were more than a dozen!
Once in her room, the phone vibrated again. She knew avoiding it wasn’t a solution; she had to answer it first.
So she locked the door and slid her finger across the screen to accept the call.
"Sean Dalton, the breach of contract penalty for the advertisement is seven hundred thousand. Before noon tomorrow, you must transfer it to my account; otherwise, I’ll sue you."
The caller was a man, speaking without room for negotiation.
"I didn’t breach the contract! I can shoot the ad!" Sean Dalton was furious, "It was you who abruptly dropped me, and now you want me to pay? If you keep playing like this, wouldn’t you be raking in a fortune without selling products at all?"
"I don’t have time for your rhetoric. You’re tarnished goods now! Using you for an ad would ruin the company! I’m emphasizing one last time—before noon tomorrow—or face the consequences."
With that, the man hung up.
Two seconds later, another debt collection call came in...
After taking five such calls, she decided to turn off the phone!
"Money, money, money, where am I supposed to get that much money?" She fussed about the bedroom in a panic, like an ant on a hot pan.
Then, a past scene flashed in her mind.
That day, her mother had dressed up and gone out; in curiosity, she had followed her all the way to an abandoned bridge.
She overheard Mr. Jennings telling her mother—
"The Dalton family heirloom treasure is invaluable; I’ve got the map, and I know the general location. All we need now is a key."
"What key?"
"The key to the treasure is a jade pendant that becomes whole when the two halves are combined."
"Jade Pendant..."
Sean Dalton sat down on the edge of the bed, muttering to herself. She remembered that her dad had half of the jade pendant, placed in the study.
And as her mother had said, the other half was taken by Stella Dalton.
So, by getting the jade pendant, one could claim the treasure. According to Mr. Jennings, the treasure was worth not just three billion but close to ten billion.
But where is the treasure located? Sean Dalton knew nothing.
Perhaps... Mother might know?
So she decided to ask her properly when her dad left the next morning!
The following morning.
David Dalton left early.
And Joan Graham also started dressing up earnestly, she had to go out today!
The matter was urgent; if she didn’t get rid of Stella today, she would be brought back in the afternoon, and then driving her away would become exceedingly difficult; the place was covered with cameras.
"Mom?"
Just as Joan Graham was about to leave, she turned her head at the sound and saw her daughter appearing at the stairs.
Sean Dalton looked at her in confusion, "Where are you going?"
"It’s something important."
"I have something important to talk to you about too. Let’s chat." With that, she walked toward her mother.
Joan Graham asked, "What is it?"
Sean Dalton looked around, seeing no one else. She then approached her mother and asked in a low voice, "Is the Dalton family treasure hidden in the forbidden area on the third floor?"
Joan Graham’s eyes widened, clenching her teeth, "Are you crazy?! Of all times, you’re thinking about that! The first priority now is to get rid of Stella Dalton! Once she’s dead, the inheritance is all ours!"
