Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1032: Mom, You Hit Me?
The little boy did not answer.
Mia Lane turned her eyes to look at him and took the initiative to hold his hand. His little hand was so cold.
The small hand trembled slightly, unsure if it was from nervousness.
"Don’t be afraid, Auntie is a good person. She will take you home." Her smile was like a blooming flower. Given the child’s state, it would probably be hard to ask him why he jumped into the river.
Ethan Dalton seemed to understand her kindness. He slowly turned his gaze to see her smiling at him, a smile as bright as sunshine, like a ray of light in a cracked life.
He held her hand in return.
Mia felt his grip, and her smile deepened, "You shouldn’t go near the water anymore. It’s dangerous. Do you understand?"
Ethan Dalton nodded slowly.
Mia continued to ask, "How old are you this year? Where do you live?"
As a mother, Mia deeply understood the feeling of a child going missing. His parents must be very worried, right?
Ethan understood but didn’t want to answer.
Because he didn’t want to go back to that home.
His sister was angry with him; she disliked him very much.
Having no other choice, Mia had to take him back to Emerald Cove.
In the evening, at the Dalton family villa.
When the Maserati stopped in the yard, Joan Graham hurried to the door, "Why did you take Ethan out for no reason? And you didn’t even say a word! Really!"
Sean Dalton got out of the car, hearing her mother’s reproach and anxiety.
"I didn’t take him out!" she replied, thinking her brother had returned, still looking upset as she walked into the living room.
Rolling her eyes, she complained, "He almost made me embarrass myself in public today! He definitely needs another lesson!"
"Butler Warren, really! How could you not stop him at all? If the reporters had caught it, how could I maintain the image of being the Dalton family’s only daughter?"
Joan saw her daughter walking over as she slammed the car door shut.
Which means no one was left in the car?
"Where’s Ethan?" Joan’s eyes widened, "Didn’t you bring him back?"
Sean stopped in her tracks, puzzled, "Didn’t he come back on his own?"
The mother and daughter exchanged looks. Joan was speechless, "Does he have the brains to find his way back on his own?"
Butler Warren stomped anxiously—
"Miss, I saw the young master following you out. I thought you would bring him with you!"
"How come you didn’t bring him back with you? What if he gets lost?"
"No!" Sean only worried for a moment, then immediately distanced herself from the situation, "I didn’t take him! He went out by taxi on his own!"
Joan urgently turned her by the shoulders, "Did you actually see him or not?"
Sean didn’t answer, which was as good as admitting it.
Joan raised her hand and slapped Sean’s face, "Are you crazy? You know he’s mentally challenged, and you didn’t make sure to keep an eye on him! What if he gets lost?! He’s your brother!"
"Mom, you hit me?"
Sean also felt wronged, staring at her defiantly, "Why hit me? I didn’t do anything wrong! It’s Butler Warren who didn’t watch him properly! When did I ever take him out?!"
Butler Warren lowered her eyes.
Joan was so anxious that she was about to cry, "If anything happens to Ethan, the two of us won’t be able to survive in the Dalton family as outsiders!"
Listening to her mother, Sean calmed down a bit.
Joan said, "He is David Garcia’s biological son, and David cares for him. I’m Ethan’s mother; no matter what, David wouldn’t kick me out!"
"And you are my daughter! Naturally, he wouldn’t do anything to you!" Joan was speechless, "But now you’ve actually lost your brother! He is our only trump card!"
Upon hearing her mother’s words, Sean suddenly became nervous, "What do we do now?"
"Where did you last see him?" Joan calmed down, "Check the surveillance! We have to find him before your father gets off work!"
Sean reassured herself, "As long as nothing unexpected happens with his intelligence, no one would adopt him, not even human traffickers."
With that, she hurriedly dialed a number, frantically instructing someone to find Ethan Dalton, providing the last known address and a photo.
While they frantically searched for three fruitless hours, everyone was growing more anxious as it was getting dark.
And David Dalton was about to finish work.
