Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 212: Out of The Mountains
The next few days passed rather quickly as they moved during the day and rested during the night.
The nighttime was also similar to the first day; Rion had controlled himself from doing anything other than that, and Dora was the same.
The only thing that had changed was that instead of Rion, Yuura hunted the beasts and brought them back to the stops for Rion to cook them and just like that, they were already about to leave the mountains.
However, the closer they got to the base of the mountains, the fewer the trees and the more ether beasts they met, and before long, they had to fight the beasts.
The barrier that had been brought down by The Remnant used to be a bit further inside the base, so the base was already full of ether beasts from before it had been broken, leaving the fleeing beasts no choice but to attack Rion and the others.
Rion and Yuura easily dealt with the ether beasts, and Zaelyane, who had quite a knowledge about them, finally decided to impart some to Rion.
"You should take that flamingdeer’s teeth, it’s as valuable and useful as rare herbs."
Rion, who was holding a beer with an earth-hard fur, looked at Zaelyane and said with a deadpan look. "Do you think this is the right time for that?"
He swung his aura-clad fist at its centre, and the beer’s back exploded, its earthly flesh flying all over the place.
Zaelyane shrugged and commented, "I just didn’t see any useful ones before."
"That’s not the point!" Yuura spat while zipping through the horde of small-sized beasts, his daggers traced their necks, and once he stopped, thuds responded throughout the horde and blood sprayed out of their necks.
Dora, who was sitting on a fallen log, gave a worried smile and nudged Zaelyane.
Zaelyane looked at her, and she said, "Wouldn’t it be better for you to tell him what is important once he is done dealing with them?"
"I just don’t want him to destroy the rare parts," Zaelyane mumbled before taking a seat beside Dora.
Rion dealt with the bigger beasts, and Yuura dealt with the smaller ones, and before long, the place around them was full of their dead bodies.
Rion stared at the bodies with a thoughtful expression, and Yuura asked, "What’s wrong?"
"I am just thinking of a way to deal with these bodies," he mumbled, and the others looked at him with a confused expression.
Using his Zone, Rion sensed the path before them and found out that there were no beasts for them to deal with.
He crouched near a dead wolf, rubbing its blue fur. He said, "You all go ahead, I’ll follow in a few minutes."
"What?!" Dora instantly shot to her feet and stared at him with a baffled expression.
Yuura dramatically fell to his knees and cried out, "What are you saying, my liege?! How can I dare go ahead of you?"
Rion stared at him with a deadpan expression. He turned his head towards Dora and said, "Don’t worry, I won’t take more than ten minutes."
They stared at him with a reluctant expression, and the sound of Zaelyane’s steps fell into their ears.
Dora furrowed her brows and asked, "Are you agreeing with him?"
Zaelyane continued to step forward and said, "He is the high commander, we have to do whatever he commands us and what’s the point of staying if he doesn’t want us to see whatever he is about to do?"
Dora and Yuura fell silent, taking a final glance at Rion, and they reluctantly followed behind Zaelyane.
Rion sighed in relief and mumbled, "Zaelyane is unexpectedly useful at these times..."
A chuckle escaped him, and once Dora and the others were far enough, he began to store the bodies of the ether beasts into his inventory.
[You have stored the remains of a long-limbed bluewindwolf!]
[You have stored the remains of a shadowbear!]
[You have stored the remains of an earthenbear!]
...Messages bombarded his vision, and after five minutes, he finished storing all of the bodies in his inventory.
At the tribe, he rarely used inventory because of the Zones and because he didn’t want others to look at him weirdly, but here he had no such restriction and had enough privacy to use the inventory as much as he wanted.
Rion brushed his palms with one another and stated with a wide grin, "There’s no way I am leaving these money bags behind!"
Grinning ear to ear, he sprinted forward.
Within a moment, he appeared before them, and Zaelyane commented, "You already took care of them?"
Still smiling, he turned her head towards her and said, "Yep."
She fell silent and stared at him with a flat expression.
On the other hand, Dora was still frowning.
"What’s wrong?" He asked.
She forced a faint smile and answered, "Nothing."
He frowned, looked at Yuura with confused eyes, and Yuura simply shrugged in response.
Shaking his head, he looked forward and continued the journey without speaking any further.
The next few hours were entirely silent as they found no other ether beasts or any other spot to stop at, but they were finally out of the heavy wilderness.
Now, the trees were so few that it couldn’t even be considered a forest, and all of a sudden, Rion stopped in his tracks.
The others also stopped, and Zaelyane mumbled, "Did you sense something?"
Rion nodded, pointing forward, he said, "I sense other humans... and they are coming towards us."
Zaelyane stepped beside him and asked, "How far are they?"
"At most, one to two kilometres," he answered, and Dora asked, "What do you think we should do?"
Rion checked them with his zone and mumbled in his head, ’A teenage boy... an old men and the others are knights...? Ah! Don’t tell me this is a noble’s son?’
"Rion?" Dora asked again.
"Zaelyane hide us with your sorcery," he said, "This might make things easier for us."
