Trials of the Abyss-Chapter 997: The Miracle of Creation and Genesis
Pang Lin, too, could not help but doubt Pang Jian's origins.
Like the supreme will of the starry skies, she initially believed Pang Jian to be the incarnation of the supreme will of the bizarre mist. She had thought that Pang Jian had been chosen as its vessel, just as the Dao Source of Soul had given rise to the Nether Abyss Spirit Bees and elevated the mightiest Bee Sovereign to serve as its vessel.
The supreme will of the starry skies could descend into Sovereigns and God Kings whose minds it had corrupted, using them to manifest its presence and wield its power. By the same logic, Pang Jian could well have been the equivalent of that for the supreme will of the bizarre mist.
Unexpectedly, when Pang Jian fell into the sea of argent light—also known as the Sea of Creation, the Sea of the Myriad, or the Sea of Order and Law—Pang Lin, still perched on his shoulder, did not sense any trace of the supreme will of the bizarre mist.
Instead, it was the auras of countless Dao Sources surging within Pang Jian that shielded him from the sea's corruption. If he was not the supreme will of the bizarre mist, then nothing about this made sense.
"Who is he?!" the supreme will demanded through Yi Hao.
Its gleaming silver eyes and the Divine Persona glowing between its brows both turned toward the bizarre mist below, seeking answers directly from its counterpart.
The bizarre mist churned, like a consciousness slowly rousing from an endless slumber. The strongest among the survivors across the eight abysses felt it instantly—the awakening of a presence that had lain buried for countless ages.
At the same time, Pang Jian, still contending with the myriad Heavenly Daos of the sea of argent light, sensed something peculiar. He suddenly felt as if he could command every known form of energy in existence.
The sea of argent light was linked to the myriad starry regions in the starry skies, drawing upon energies from endless worlds, stars, and living beings for battle.
There was energy in the radiant stars, blazing suns, and cold moons scattered across the starry skies. These energies were mingled with fire, frost, lightning, water, and earth—all fundamentals of creation.
The supreme will of the starry skies, through its mastery of the natural laws, bent all of it to its command.
Energy, matter, and the natural order were all cornerstones upon which civilizations arose in the starry skies.
First came the things that had to exist, such as a sun, a moon, stars, the alternation of night and day, the turning of the seasons, mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas. This was the foundation upon which life could take root, the bedrock of existence.
Before the supreme will of the starry skies could create life, it had to first forge a world fit for them to inhabit.
The energies from the suns, moons, and stars, together with the manifold energies scattered through the starry skies, became the nourishment of all life, the indispensable condition for beings to ascend into godhood.
Even the most ferocious of the primordial behemoths relied on the varied energies permeating the starry skies to evolve and refine their bloodlines.
All forms of energy, regardless of type, were the foundation of matter and life. They were the wellspring from which miracles were drawn. The fundamental laws, natural orders, and the profound mysteries of the Heavenly Daos were all merely means of harnessing those energies to their utmost.
The supreme will of the starry skies, the supreme will of the bizarre mist, the profound truths inscribed upon the Dao Sources, and the many paths of ascension to godhood were all classed within the domain of fundamental laws and natural orders.
Of course, the tangible Dao Sources, the five elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, were themselves fusions of order and energy.
The two supreme wills stand above the Dao Sources. Somehow, they awakened self-awareness. Unlike the Dao Sources, they have no physical form, nor do they carry vast reserves of energy. They are the offspring of the fundamental laws and natural orders.
They, too, are cornerstones of existence. They draw forth the primal laws and orders within the Dao Sources and weave them into themselves, thus continuing their endless evolution toward higher realms!
This revelation stemmed from the knowledge imparted by the Dao Source of Soul.
Pang Jian's insights advanced with this newfound knowledge of the universe. This gave him a whole new understanding of the primordial forms of existence, the rise and fall of civilizations, and even of the path through which the Outer Gods ascended.
The visions and civilizations that sought to take root within his Immortal Divine Soul's chest were quietly erased as a strange awareness welled up in him. His body itself was like a newborn world, as vast as the bizarre mist and the starry skies.
If the supreme will of the starry skies were to inscribe worlds and civilizations within his Immortal Divine Soul, thereby giving rise to new races and branding its laws upon them, then Pang Jian would become completely possessed.
His Immortal Divine Soul seemed to be transforming into a new and alien world, unlike that of the bizarre mist or the starry skies—a third wondrous dominion. The first to lay down their law and order upon it would rule as the sole will of that new world.
Pang Jian would undoubtedly die if one of the supreme wills were to become that sole will.
Energy. I need every form of energy possible. It doesn't matter if it's from the starry skies, the bizarre mist, or even...
Pang Jian's divine sense roamed through the sea of argent light, breaking down the laws and order imbued within its energies.
Divine power, myriad energies, demonic energy, and the aura of light and darkness were clutched tightly in the grasp of those binding laws. Those laws and energies had long since fused, as though squeezed tight in an unseen fist.
Despite this, when he sought to pry them apart, the grip of the laws and orders upon the energies unexpectedly loosened, as if they themselves yearned to separate from the bindings.
The inexhaustible tide of energies felt like a domain he could stir and command.
Suddenly, a ripple stirred within Pang Jian's heart.
A world-shaking upheaval was occurring in the bizarre mist.
***
The eight abysses, each with its own distinct form, rose within the bizarre mist, as though preparing to break free of it. Dense arcs of Dao-infused lightning slithered like dragons and serpents over their enclosing boundary walls.
Torrents of energies and otherworldly radiance flooded in from the starry skies, cascading into the abysses, as though the crystal-clear barriers had split wide open.
The supreme will of the bizarre mist was harvesting the energies from the shattered Primordial Chaos Starry Region through the eight abysses—energies that the supreme will of the starry skies had reaped from the myriad starry regions under its dominion!
These energies from the starry skies had been hoarded as a weapon to suppress the supreme will of the bizarre mist. However, those energies were now pouring endlessly into the eight abysses.
Radiant waves of luminescent white light shone forth from deep within the bizarre mist and swiftly condensed into four vast regions.
Circular boundary walls took shape, forming four containers for the torrents of energies gathered by the eight abysses.
Sprawling continents emerged in these four new abysses, followed by veins of mountains and rivers.
Soon after, the dense energies started to diffuse outward, infusing the continents and fragmented lands with an uncanny vitality, bestowing upon them the foundations for life.
Bolts of lightning, sweeping winds, and flickering flames swept across the various continents.
***
"The Fey Abyss, Spirit Abyss, Star Abyss, and Wood Abyss!" Pang Lin exclaimed in shock.
These four abysses, previously destroyed by the Outer Gods, had been reforged anew.
The twelve abysses were the creations of the supreme will of the bizarre mist and carried imprints of myriad life.
Their creation depended not only on the laws and orders that the supreme will of the bizarre mist commanded, but also upon boundless energies!
Only vast, inexhaustible energies could forge new abysses, forming continents, mountains, rivers, forests, and even life itself.
Energy was one of the foundations of the material world. Even the supreme will of the bizarre mist could not create the abysses without the immeasurable energies to sustain them.
Those born within those abysses also required these energies to strengthen themselves.
Energies from the starry skies and celestial bodies are energy. Spiritual qi is energy. Waves of light and fields of magnetism are also energy. Even one's soul and thoughts can be classified as forms of energy.
Energy and power are the bedrock of a world.
Pang Lin's gaze grew distant as she sank into deep thought.
Then, her delicate frame quivered ever so slightly. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Startled, she glanced toward the colossal skull beneath Pang Jian's Immortal Divine Soul.
Seeds of life were scattering from within the Sanctum of Godly and Demonic Genesis, where the World Tree had taken root.
Those seeds, each glimmering like motes of light, flared briefly within the Ruin Realm before vanishing. Innumerable life seeds then quietly appeared in the four new abysses, falling into mountains, rivers, oceans, and forests.
The Lesser Fey of the Fey Race, beasts, birds, insects, and flowers were swiftly refined from the scattered life seeds.
The members of the Wood, Star, Spirit, Demon, Ghost, Flame, Ice, and Thunder Races emerged one after another in the new abysses.
Forging abysses was creation. Refining and shaping life within them was genesis.
The supreme will of the bizarre mist had just accomplished the miracle of creation and genesis!
