Countless eyes locked onto the massive sphere of light that enveloped the Sovereign of Light. Its radiance stood out from the endless darkness like a blazing beacon.

The sphere of light expanded, with Luo Hongyan hovering motionless within. On her back, pairs of snow-white wings crystallized at a speed visible to the naked eye. "The worlds, stars, and universe were all meant to be filled with light," Luo Hongyan declared in a dreamy voice.

Her voice resonated across the starry region, echoing in the hearts of all living beings. It even pierced through the bizarre mist and the barriers of the abysses to enter the minds of its inhabitants.

Those weighed down by worldly affairs, hearts clouded with gloom or frustration, saw light flooding into their minds.

The light swept away the shadows and burdens within their hearts. Their seas of consciousness grew clear, and their spirits pure as their tensions unwound into relaxation.

"The Sovereign of Light cleansed the filth from my heart. She made both my soul and body radiant."

The inhabitants of the abysses basked in the light, instinctively raising their heads toward the sky. Their eyes were fixed on the blazing sphere of light in the starry skies. They felt as though Sovereign Luo was the one divine being they could trust completely—the one upon whom they could place all their hopes and dreams.

Pang Jian's expression darkened. The Faith that had been flowing toward him was rapidly diminishing. He could no longer feel the worship and reverence from the inhabitants of the abysses.

The Faith drawn from them was actively transformed into divine sense, granting him control over this starry region, the twelve divine artifacts, and the God King's skull. Losing that vital force was a blow to his combat prowess.

"The Sovereign of Light!" chanted the inhabitants of the abysses, instinctively kneeling in worship.

Vast streams of Faith shifted from Pang Jian to Luo Hongyan, pouring into her as billions of unseen motes of light.

Her immense body crystallized like her wings. The light she released became even more sacred, as if impervious to the stain of darkness or corruption.

The massive sphere of light surrounding her condensed into a crystalline blade of light.

This peerless Sovereign of Light gazed calmly at the Black Empyrean Phoenix and Pang Lin perched atop its head.

"While you slumbered in the bizarre mist, I gathered all the fragments of the Dao Source of Light scattered across the starry skies," Luo Hongyan said calmly.

The Black Empyrean Phoenix's cold eyes flashed with dread.

Fu Ya and Tian Yu's expressions shifted as well.

"The Dao Source of Light?!"

"She's gathered all of it?!"

As fellow Sovereigns, they naturally understood what it meant for beings of their caliber to obtain a Dao Source that aligned their own Dao.

For a Sovereign, refining their corresponding Dao Source meant ascending as God King!

If Fu Ya were to fuse with the Soulstream, she could easily become a God King.

Similarly, if Tian Yu were to find the Dao Source of Space, he too could advance to the next realm in a single leap.

For Luo Hongyan, the Sovereign of Light, to have gathered every fragment of the Dao Source of Light and merged them with her body meant she had long been able to ascend as a God King.

Why did she wait? wondered Tian Yu and Fu Ya. Why did she not become a God King to turn the tide earlier? What exactly was she waiting for?

Pang Lin put voice to the questions. "You could have become a God King long ago. So why haven't you? Are you waiting to become stronger? Do you mean to merge the light and darkness within yourself and, with the aid of the Dao Source of Light, become a God King embodying both?"

"I've been waiting for you to show yourself," Luo Hongyan replied with a faint nod. "Waiting to subsume your darkness. I want to be strong enough that I won't vanish after becoming a God King.

"Many God Kings have fallen over the eras. I refuse to meet the same fate as them."

Only the area around the Black Empyrean Phoenix remained cloaked in darkness.

Luo Hongyan's will altered the laws of order in the starry region, reshaping them into invisible chains of shimmering light. The stars, moon, and even the suns under Pang Jian's control erupted with brilliance.

Pang Jian, on the other hand, found his connection to the Primordial Chaos Starry Region severed. He could no longer use his divine sense to command the stars, peer into hidden corners of the region, or probe the minds of the living beings within.

When a Sovereign fuses with their corresponding Dao Source, they become a God King! Pang Jian realized as he observed Luo Hongyan.

The spreading light reached the edge of the starry region and even seeped into Yan Hao's skull. It then infiltrated his nine blazing suns and the twelve divine artifacts forged from the World God Pendants.

"I'm different. I devote myself to two main Daos—light and darkness. What I desire is to plunge everything into absolute darkness or set them alight with a single thought.
