Trials of the Abyss-Chapter 939: Ying Yues Perspective
Prismatic crystals floated like suspended glaciers in the vast Void Temple, each reflecting scenes from different worlds.
It was rare for even those of the Void Race to catch a glimpse of these mystical crystals. They belonged to Tian Yu alone.
Suddenly, one of the crystals, containing a figure frozen within, stirred ever so slightly.
A mysterious force from a distant world slipped through hidden rifts in the fabric of space, entered Tian Yu's temple, and seeped into the man imprisoned in the crystal.
The man, temples graying and aura serene, had been as lifeless as a statue. However, as that mysterious force empowered him, his heavy eyelids slowly lifted with great difficulty.
"Tian Yu isn't here," he muttered, eyes darting about with a flicker of surprise. "Strange. Tian Yu is here most of the time, not only to observe the myriad worlds, but also to guard against me."
Even Tian Yu dared not stray far from this place for long. After all, a certain level of vigilance was required to imprison the man eternally.
The man intuited from Tian Yu's absence and his unexpected awakening that a great upheaval was undoubtedly occurring in the outside world.
He speculated in silence, fearing that Sovereign Luo and Fu Ya had already launched their campaign against the bizarre mist. Tian Yu's absence could be attributed to having gone to the Hall of Gods to provide reinforcements.
"Something's wrong," he murmured, brows twitching with unease.
Then, realization struck.
The upheaval within that desolate starry region was responsible for stirring him from his long slumber in the Void Temple, not Tian Yu!
"The Primordial Chaos Starry Region! Primordial Chaos Spiritual Sea! My son, Pang Jian!"
A surge of emotion welled up within him, a faint tear beading up at the corner of his eye.
"The heavens have shown mercy!"
Neither Sovereign Luo nor Fu Ya could shake the entire starry region above the bizarre mist and set the celestial bodies there into motion. Only the person recognized by that starry region itself could achieve such feats.
"So soon?" A hint of a smile curved at the edge of his lips, relieved and proud. All his years of suffering suddenly seemed worth it.
Before setting out to avenge his wife, he had already made silent preparations, leaving behind a contingency for his son by tethering that ancient starry region known as the Primordial Chaos Starry Region to his son's dantian.
Once Pang Jian's cultivation reached a certain height, he would be able to use his Primordial Chaos Spiritual Sea to commune with that starry region after setting foot in it.
Any Outer Gods seeking to invade the bizarre mist would have to first pass through the Primordial Chaos Starry Region.
That desolate starry region hid strange phenomena that the man had long since uncovered. After comprehending them, he refined their essence and embedded them into Pang Jian's dantian.
He had been waiting for this upheaval of the Primordial Chaos Starry Region for thousands of years.
"Pang Jian, I hope you can endure."

Shattered divine platforms, the remains of the Outer Gods, and a dazzling array of artifacts charged forth en masse through the bizarre mist, appearing before the God King's skull. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Cries of alarm erupted from the Outer Gods in the bizarre mist.
"Hua Jian! A high-ranking God of the Sea Race!"
"Fan Qi! A mid-ranking God of the Spirit Race!"
"Bei Jian!"
"Jiu Mu!"
The Outer Gods watched in horror as the many objects and remains from the starry region above were drawn into the God King's skull and vanished into the Ruin Realm.
Mu Ya's expression changed drastically. "Those still in the starry region above are dropping like flies! What kind of terrifying massacre is unfolding up there?"
The Outer Gods could not help but wonder if the ferocious Black Empyrean Phoenix had unleashed some apocalyptic calamity.
Did Fu Ya and Sovereign Luo fail to restrain the Black Empyrean Phoenix's rampage?
Even two Sovereigns, armed with the Hall of Gods, couldn't hold back that Black Empyrean Phoenix?
The unsettling feeling at the pit of their stomachs only grew deeper as they recalled the Black Empyrean Phoenix's fearsome reputation. Some even despaired at what the future could hold.
The Outer Gods loyal to Luo Hongyan and Fu Ya were rattled. They longed to know what was happening in the starry region above, but were too terrified to ascend and risk being slaughtered.
"Lord Cang Feng!"
"Lord Yan Lie!"
The Outer Gods pleaded, turning panic-stricken eyes toward the two mightiest high-ranking Gods among them.
"Ying Yue, go and see what's happened above," Yan Lie ordered coldly, using his blazing six-pointed shield to push Ying Yue's divine platform out of the bizarre mist.
Even someone as powerful as Yan Lie dared not ascend into the starry skies himself after seeing the remains of so many high-ranking Gods.
"Ying Yue!" Han Yi cried out in anguish.
The fact that Yan Lie had not chosen to fly up himself showed that he feared what awaited above. Sending Ying Yue up was essentially sending her to her death.
Despite knowing this, the Moon God remained composed on her moonlit divine platform. She glanced at the panicked Han Yi, then at the others like Yan Lie, Cang Feng, and Mu Ya.
Of the Outer Gods, only Han Yi showed concern for her fate.
Several among them had once, whether openly or discreetly, expressed their admiration after she had pledged allegiance to Sovereign Luo. Those same Outer Gods had watched on with cold indifference when Yan Lie used her and Han Yi as leverage to drive Pang Jian out of the Ruin Realm. Two had even joined the encirclement at Yan Lie's command.
Such worthless affection. How laughable, Ying Yue sneered inwardly, scorn and derision cooling her heart. Both they and Pang Jian are exactly the same. The fleeting affection of those so-called admirers amounts to nothing in the face of death.
When she and Han Yi were threatened with death, Pang Jian chose to stay hidden within the Ruin Realm, determined to ascend as a Sovereign. Although she logically understood that it was the wisest choice, the fact that she and Han Yi were the ones about to be sacrificed made it hard for her to let go.
"Han Yi, you have to live for yourself from now on! Don't place your hope in anyone else again!" Ying Yue called down with a bitter smile.
"Ying Yue!" Han Yi tried to activate her divine platform to follow, but it would not budge.
Several Outer Gods worked together to suppress it, not even allowing her to die alongside Ying Yue.
"Lord Yan Lie, let me go with her!" Han Yi pleaded, her voice breaking. "If we have to die, then let us die together!"
"I have other plans for you," Yan Lie said coldly, casting a distant glance toward the God King's skull. "I'll use you to continue pressuring Pang Jian. There's no need for you to rush to your death quite yet."
Then, peering up at Ying Yue, he flicked his finger, and his six-pointed shield shot forward.
"Go!"
The shield propelled Ying Yue's divine platform out of the bizarre mist, thrusting her into the chaotic starry region above.
Stupefaction replaced the sorrow on her face, stunned at the sight before her.
Stars streaked wildly across the starry skies like flung pellets of clay, bombarding Outer Gods and leaving behind a growing field of remains and shattered divine platforms.
At the center of the starry region, the clash between the three Sovereigns had come to a halt. All their gazes were locked onto an immense figure wreathed in radiant multicolored light and nine blazing suns.
Deep within his eyes was a vision of shooting stars. Golden threads weaved through his pupils, as if pulling the stars along in their wake.
"Pang Jian's Immortal Divine Soul is commanding the stars!" Ying Yue exclaimed in disbelief. "Pang Jian's the one slaughtering the Gods!"
The Hall of Gods, Fu Ya, Sovereign Luo, and the Black Empyrean Phoenix were all still shrouded in the tides of darkness. None of them radiated brilliance.
Pang Jian, on the other hand, hovered in the center of nine blazing suns, his prismatic Immortal Divine Soul illuminating the skies.
The eyes of all the surviving Outer Gods were instinctively drawn to him. Ying Yue was no exception.
Even a fool could see that he was responsible for this upheaval and slaughter behind in the starry skies.
The stars danced to his will. Stellar energy surged. The Heavenly Daos themselves trembled under his touch.
Pang Jian was the one orchestrating it all!
The starry region above the bizarre mist had become Pang Jian's domain, shaped by his Dao and ruled by him alone. Here, he wielded earth-shattering divine might.
"Pang Jian!" Fu Ya shouted, her composure cracking.
Channeling the power of the Hall of Gods, she sent out rippling waves of divine power in an attempt to halt Pang Jian's rampage.
The calm tide of darkness came to life once more with a deafening roar. An aura of destruction, decay, toxin, and corrosion rushed violently toward the Hall of Gods, engulfing both the Hall of Gods and Fu Ya herself.
That Black Empyrean Phoenix is holding back the two Sovereigns, letting Pang Jian slaughter the Gods freely! Ying Yue realized.
Suddenly, the moon, resonating with Ying Yue, flared with brilliant light!
Its radiance had been refined and compressed to the extreme, converging into a stream of moonlight. That moonlight held the profound essence of the moon. The insights of various Moon Gods were laid bare, vivid and comprehensible, as if all their mysteries were unraveling before her eyes.
This stream of moonlight shot toward Ying Yue like a meteor and merged with her.
The disturbances of the Ruin Realm had previously forced Ying Yue to halt her ascension toward becoming a high-ranking God. Unexpectedly, after emerging from the bizarre mist, a vast wave of lunar energy infused into her, alongside the profound truths of the moon.
Her cultivation realm rose as an overwhelming tide of pure soul essence flooded into her. At that moment, atop her divine platform, she ascended as a high-ranking God in one leap!
Pang Jian! Ying Yue cried inwardly, all her frustration, bitterness, and resentment wiped away in one fell swoop.
The cultivation realm she had pursued with such hardship had been achieved in the blink of an eye, all thanks to Pang Jian!
