Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 790 - 346: The Revived Dawn_2
The branches grew out to both sides, without piercing the sails or obstructing the areas where the sails moved.
Green leaves began to grow around the mast, encircling it.
A natural tree canopy formed at the center of the deck. Then, under Julia's guidance, the great tree stopped growing upward, instead spreading its roots down along the entire ship.
The roots wrapped all the way around the keel, firmly binding and protecting it, safeguarding the core framework of the ship, even merging into it.
Some branches even pushed through to the bottom of the ship, but immediately closed over the holes they made, growing outward as they sealed them.
The tendril-like roots began spreading from the center to the periphery, resembling blood vessels.
On these branches small, tender buds sprouted, which would become carnivorous plants under the ship.
In addition to clearing grime and parasites from the hull, these plants would also catch small fish swimming beneath the ship.
All of these would be nutrients for the great tree, nourishing the ship itself.
The ship was transformed from a Ghost Ship into a living vessel with true life.
Apart from the lower hold, tree roots now permeated and fused with the decks on levels one and two.
Some of the original Spells on the ship were destroyed, and several lighting devices were broken.
The ship was filled with the frantic sounds of breaking and snapping.
It was as if something inside the ship was running wild, wreaking havoc.
At last, the burst of growth completed. Julia let go of her hands and exhaled heavily.
Beads of sweat, as large as soybeans, covered her forehead.
"Now, make whatever embellishments you wish."
As her words fell, one hole after another appeared in the trunk, through which various sounds emerged.
The branches draped downward, mysteriously blooming with flowers of many colors—of every shape and form—and then from them hung one gleaming crystal after another.
Like jewels, these colorful gems hung from the tree, making it a true Treasure Tree.
A peculiar white bird appeared on a branch.
"A Sound Transmission Bird?"
Lucilia instantly recognized the bird's race.
It was the very prototype of the Sound of Dawn's figurehead.
The bird chirped gently, singing a beautiful melody. Standing on the branch, it tilted its head to look at them, fluttering its wings as it hopped from person to person.
Each time it landed on someone, it would nuzzle their cheek with its head.
Everyone received their share, as if it was thanking them.
Jason looked down at his feet. At some point, the whole deck had become covered with a thin layer of grass.
"This is great, it really looks beautiful. But are we sure there won't be any problems?"
After all, if the deck is overgrown with grass, won't it rot badly?
Chadite stood in place as silver ripples continuously radiated out from her, having witnessed nearly every change that had swept through the ship.
Hearing Jason's question, she said, "Compared to these surface changes, I suggest everyone go below deck and have a look. Hmm...the changes are dramatic."
Alka looked at the vines sprouting on the ship's railings and the flowers blooming upon them.
He could more or less imagine what changes awaited below.
Still, he led the way toward the lower cabins.
As soon as they entered the first deck, what greeted them was a ceiling covered with roots, entwined like blood vessels.
But these roots were not exposed—they were embedded into the wooden boards, completely fusing with them.
It looked as if the planks themselves were but an extension of the roots.
And the splintered bits of damaged planks from before were nowhere to be seen, as though the roots had absorbed them entirely.
But all the lanterns and Lighting Stones that had hung here before had vanished completely.
In their place, suspended overhead, was a gemstone.
The gem radiated a soft, pale white glow, identical to the gems hanging from the tree above, except in shape.
"Honestly, this is actually pretty beautiful."
"I'll check on the library."
"I'll check on the kitchen."
"I'm going to see my room!"
Everyone spoke as they scattered off in different directions.
Alka and Simon quickly made their way to the manufacturing hall.
Seeing that the manufacturing hall had been perfectly preserved, both breathed a sigh of relief.
This was, after all, their lifeblood.
"Thank goodness, it's completely intact," Simon let out a breath.
Alka scanned the details of the hall, saying: "It's not the same—a lot has changed."
With that, he began a careful inspection.
"The Magic Power storage array is completely gone, the magic conduits are gone, even the experimental Magic Gathering Spell is missing, here..."
As Alka checked, he spoke, while Simon stood frozen, turning ashen with shock.
But clearly Alka wasn't finished, and after checking all the alterations, he added, "Every bit of infrastructure we built before has been replaced by plant roots that perform the same function."
"Plant roots? How can plant roots do that?" Simon asked, appearing beside Alka without him noticing.
"I don't really understand either—how is this possible?" Alka looked at the magic conduits, now transformed into roots acting as Magic Power channels.
The crude, makeshift Magic Gathering Array constructed around a Magic Gathering Stone had turned into a sort of moss, which still gathered magic power just as before.
"Let's test it."
The two began their experiments.
"I don't understand, not at all—what in the world is this?" Simon said, now squatting in growing confusion.
The things that had been broken and replaced before were now gone, but seemingly they'd been replaced with something even better.
