Chapter 524: Chapter 258 Island Insights

Alka returned to the ship.

When he got back on board, Jason and the others were already waiting there.

"Why are you back so late? We thought something might have happened to you," Chadite said, standing on the deck as he saw Alka climbing up.

"I was just delayed a bit," Alka replied with a smile. It wasn’t too late, as night had just fallen.

Alka then entered the captain’s cabin, where all the important members of the crew had gathered and taken their seats.

Alka took his own seat and looked at everyone, saying, "What do you think of this island?"

"Judging by this port town alone, it’s not bad, but it is, after all, just a port town," Chadite said, holding a map. "According to the information I gathered earlier, this island also has a city and several other towns."

Upon hearing this, Alka was curious and took the map. He wasn’t very familiar with the specifics of this island yet, so he took a look at it.

The shape of the island was roughly an irregular cross-star. Despite its irregularity, the island’s shape was indeed peculiar, which Alka guessed might be the origin of its name. The town they were in was called South Cape Port, located at the bottom point of the cross-star. In the center of the island, there was a city with a land area several times larger than the town. Each of the other three points of the cross-star also had a small town. However, unlike South Cape Port, these towns weren’t at the very tip of their respective points but were situated further inland along those arms. South Cape Port was also the largest town; since it served as the island’s only seaport, its greater prosperity compared to the other towns was understandable.

The map only revealed that this port town was quite large and the island’s shape was somewhat peculiar; nothing else was evident from it.

Alka blinked slightly. As he focused, the map representing the island seemed to light up with points of interest.

After all, on such a large island, even with established powers, it’s impossible to prevent all treasures from being hidden here, he thought.

Two golden beams of light appeared on the map, along with seven blue dots scattered across the island. There were only three white dots: two in the wilderness, and one located in the central city.

Two golden lights? Alka hadn’t expected that. Both golden lights, coincidentally, were situated in the central city, right in its heart.

He reached out and touched one of the golden lights on the map.

[Hidden Treasure]

[Difficulty: Bloodline Holder]

[Fame: 1654]

[Treasure Information: None]

The most basic information panel, revealing almost nothing, Alka thought. This means I know nothing about this Treasure.

However, this difficulty made Alka frown. After some thought, he decided to ignore this golden point. The difficulty level of ’Bloodline Holder’ was not unfamiliar to Alka. This indicated that the Treasure had been intentionally hidden by someone, clearly an heirloom meant for descendants. Without the correct bloodline, it could only be obtained through force.

Acquiring a Treasure by force in the main city, the heart of someone else’s territory... Especially here in the Endless Sea, where our current strength has only just reached the baseline. Alka shook his head with a bit of helplessness. I’d rather not take this Treasure. It would definitely put us in danger. Taking on something so mismatched with our strength is undoubtedly courting disaster.

He reached out and touched the other golden light.

[Hidden Treasure]

[Difficulty: Key Holder]

[Fame: 1165]

[Treasure Information: None]

Almost no difference from the other golden light, except this time the difficulty is ’Key Holder.’ This means this Treasure is also secured somewhere and can be opened with a key. Neither of these Treasures can be easily obtained right now, and I don’t even have any information about them. If we truly want to get these two Treasures on this island, we might have to stay for a very long time.

Alka couldn’t help but fall into thought.

"If you’re planning on seeking treasure on this island, I suggest keeping a low profile," Jason advised, noticing Alka staring at the city on the map. After all, when Alka focused on a map, it generally meant he was searching for signs of treasure.

Hearing this, Alka shifted his attention from the map and asked Jason in confusion, "Oh? Why?"

"According to what I’ve learned, the mayor of this town is a ’Staff Holder,’ and the highest combat power on the island is a ’Crowned One,’" Jason explained, waving a finger.

This was met with even more puzzled gazes from the others. They wondered what terms like ’Staff Holder’ and ’Crowned One,’ which clearly sounded like titles, actually meant. Do they mean what they literally sound like?

Seeing everyone’s puzzled expressions, Jason knew why. He shrugged helplessly and said, "I don’t know what these titles represent either, but they’re related to strength. For example, a ’Staff Holder’ represents Fourth Stage strength."

Julia, after thinking for a moment about what Jason had just said, commented from the side, "It should be related to Treasures."

"The tiers of Treasures are classified as [Holy Grail], [Scepter], and [Crown]," she continued, explaining the connection. "Although I don’t know why there’s no title related to the Holy Grail, don’t ’Staff Holder’ and ’Crowned One’ sound quite obvious in connection to the other two?"

Hearing her explanation, the others found it did make sense; the literal meanings of the titles seemed to correspond directly. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"So, a ’Staff Holder’ means someone who possesses a [Scepter]-tier Treasure?" Pororo deduced simply.
