Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 858 - 856: Is It Really Just Talent? (Second Update)
The day before filming commenced, the crew held a simple pre-shoot ceremony as usual.
Director Sun’s films have always been extremely secretive, usually releasing production stills or clips for promotion only in the late stages of filming or during editing. This time was no exception; the ceremony was attended only by the director, the main cast, and the relevant crew, with no media invited.
For this film, Director Sun managed to secure three investors. One of them was present, known as Boss Qi, but Ji Rui, one of the investors, did not attend the ceremony, nor did the other mysterious investor.
The Ji Family entrusted their two handsome sons, Da Bao and Little Treasure, with escorting the female lead, Nuonuo, to the ceremony. Since the Ji Family never ventured into the entertainment industry, aside from Director Sun and the male lead Fang Kai, no one knew the background of these three siblings. They simply judged from their aura and demeanor that they were affluent and influential, realizing they were not to be provoked, yet their exact backgrounds remained unknown.
Seeing Director Sun and Fang Kai treating Da Bao and Little Treasure with such politeness, all the crew understood that these two handsome men, one called Young Master Yu and the other Mr. Huan, were intimidating even to the director. They developed a sense of caution and secretly harbored respect for the female lead Si Han.
Director Sun was also amiable towards Si Han. After the crew arranged the roast pig and fruits, he gestured with a smile, indicating she should join, "Si Han, come and light some incense together." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
The question of whether Nuonuo should change her stage name was discussed by the Ji Family, and they unanimously agreed that continuing with the name Si Han was perfectly fine.
Da Bao and Little Treasure had similar features, allowing the keen-eyed to immediately identify them as brothers. However, Si Han bore no resemblance to them. The second female lead, seemingly more gossip-oriented, approached Si Han after lighting the incense, "Si Han, who are those two handsome guys to you?"
Si Han didn’t feel the need to hide anything, "They’re my brother and my brother." She took a light sip of her drink and, noticing the stars in the second lead’s eyes, casually added, "They both have girlfriends."
Nuonuo wasn’t lacking in confidence but simply wanted to spare herself, her brother, and Little Treasure from any unnecessary trouble.
The second female lead was He Yinyin, whose face turned slightly red with embarrassment as she laughed to cover her awkwardness, "Haha, they’re so handsome; it would be strange if they didn’t have girlfriends, right?"
Tian Fang, who was chatting not far away with other crew members, promptly walked over and patted Si Han on the shoulder, "Si Han, why not go and accompany your brothers?"
The others didn’t know Si Han’s background nor her temperament, but Tian Fang, who had been with her for several months, knew well that Si Han wasn’t skilled at dealing with superficial faces. Thus, upon seeing He Yinyin speaking to her, Tian Fang hurried over to assist.
Nuonuo gave He Yinyin an apologetic smile and slightly bowed, "Sorry, excuse me."
"Sister Fang, I heard you terminated your contract with Star Road and now you’ve become an attendant to a young lady?"
Tian Fang was a renowned agent in the industry, having previously had a dispute with He Yinyin regarding her artist. Hence, upon seeing her, Yinyin immediately adopted a mocking demeanor.
Tian Fang swept her eyes over Yinyin coldly, "Whether Si Han is a young lady or not is none of your concern. Anyway, I’m giving you a word of caution—don’t mess with her, or you won’t even know how you’ll meet your end."
Although Tian Fang couldn’t openly present the Ji Family as a massive backing, she found it necessary to issue some stern warnings as a preemptive measure!
He Yinyin was one of the three investors, recommended to Director Sun by Boss Qi, and was said to be his niece, thus considered a rich girl.
After the ceremony, Tian Fang left with Si Han and her two siblings in the same vehicle.
"Si Han, try to engage less with He Yinyin in the future. That girl often acts like a princess, because her family has some money."
Both Tian Fang and Si Han believed in the principle of not provoking others unless provoked. After all, despite Si Han’s influential background, she was a brand new rookie like a blank piece of paper, and making too many enemies would not be wise.
Thus, Nuonuo listened to Tian Fang’s advice and obediently nodded to show she understood.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, Da Bao and Little Treasure exchanged glances but didn’t ask any further questions.
Later that night, Da Bao and Little Treasure had someone thoroughly research He Yinyin’s family background up to eighteen generations. Both brothers were aware that their actions might be somewhat overly cautious. However, given Nuonuo’s personal safety and future prospects, combined with their unfamiliarity with that circle, they believed that scrutinizing those surrounding her was a prudent preventative measure.
The film was to be shot in two parts, with the first part filmed in rented studios on the outskirts of R City and the second part shot on location; each phase was expected to take over a month.
The studio was about an hour’s drive from the Ji Family estate. Initially, Tian Fang planned to pick up Si Han daily from the Ji Family and return her every evening.
However, the Ji Family insisted on having a driver transport them to the studio. Later, Tian Fang learned from Si Han that this driver was not merely a driver but also served as a bodyguard, responsible for the safety and transportation of Si Han and her brother since childhood.
The beginning scenes of the film depicted some campus life involving the female lead. For Si Han, who had no acting experience, these were relatively easy segments.
Nevertheless, neither Director Sun nor Tian Fang dared to have high expectations for Si Han. Despite months of observation validating Si Han’s innate acting talent, it would be her first time performing in front of strangers and a camera, facing her acting partner. Thus, Director Sun had mentally prepared for numerous retakes, even considering the potential need for a stand-in.
The first scene involved the female lead during her school days, having her initial encounter with the male lead, her mentor, in an alley beside the school.
In the film, the female lead is skilled and highly principled. On her first day of school, while buying a lunch box outside the campus, she witnesses a thief snatching a wallet. Her overwhelming sense of justice compels her to toss her lunch box aside and leap towards the thief. Simultaneously, the male lead, purchasing bread nearby, sees her rushing in disregard of her own safety and charges towards the thief. However, by the time he reaches them, the female lead has already grabbed the thief’s arm and flipped him over with a deft shoulder throw, rendering him flat on his back!
Unexpectedly, the scene meant for countless retakes passed in a single take!
Both Director Sun and Fang Kai were utterly astounded by Si Han’s swift and precise movements!
