Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 852 - 850: Neverending Curtain (Third Update)
On the way back, Le Tong sat in the back seat with her two children, chatting idly. Da Bao asked, "This Director Sun is reputedly a talented director in the film industry. I haven’t seen any of his movies, though I hear the reviews are good. Nuonuo, have you seen any?"
Nuonuo nodded, "I’ve seen two or three. Actually, two years ago he directed that film ’Flower Season,’ he even asked Sister Ziweng to reach out to me, but I didn’t accept."
After Nuonuo rejected Director Sun, she didn’t intentionally hide the matter; she simply thought she wouldn’t have any further interactions with him, so she didn’t bother to mention it.
Now that it’s brought up, she casually mentioned it, without any particular feelings or grudges.
Da Bao didn’t know she had read the script and struggled with a decision at the time, so he assumed she had simply rejected Director Sun’s request, hence he didn’t dwell on it either.
Le Tong, who was aware of the details, glanced at Nuonuo without saying a word.
"Really? Then can you dig up a couple of his movies for us to watch together when we get home?"
Da Bao wanted to determine whether Director Sun’s filmmaking relied on emotional hype or on provocative plot elements.
Once back home, after washing up, Nuonuo climbed onto Da Bao’s bed holding a human-sized plush pillow he recently gifted her.
Da Bao had already found a bunch of Director Sun’s films, and Nuonuo pointed at one of them, saying, "Let’s watch Fiery; it’s quite good and it’s Fang Kai’s breakout work."
Da Bao, originally focusing on the big screen with the remote in his hand, turned his head to give her a meaningful look after hearing her. Then, seemingly annoyed by the plush in her arms, he grabbed it and tossed it into a corner of the room.
"You already have me, why bother with these useless things?"
Of course Nuonuo caught the double entendre in Da Bao’s words.
She stretched her arms to embrace the jealous man, resting her chin on his strong shoulder, "Exactly, I’ve already got the nation’s most handsome guy, other things are indeed disposable and unnecessary!"
Da Bao felt more satisfied, and in turn, pulled her into his arms.
"Watch the movie with me!"
Nuonuo snuggled into his arms, looked up at his face, and playfully said, "You watch the movie, and I’ll watch you!"
Da Bao knew she was soothing his "injured" heart, but honestly, he quite enjoyed her gesture.
"If you stare at me non-stop for over five minutes, I guarantee goosebumps all over. Come on, get up and watch with me!"
Da Bao rubbed her head vigorously before pulling her up, and they settled into a comfortable position.
During the ninety-minute film, they didn’t speak much, both deeply engrossed by the engaging plot. Nuonuo was watching the film for the second time, but she found it more impactful this time than the first.
The film dealt with many issues of humanity and survival; things she didn’t understand in her youth but does now!
Because of this, she watched even more intently, deeply moved by the protagonist’s resilient "cockroach spirit."
"This Director Sun truly lives up to his reputation; he has real skill. The film is very compelling, with a tightly arranged plot, and the characterization is very well handled."
Although Da Bao wasn’t fond of Fang Kai, he objectively acknowledged the film’s qualities.
Nuonuo wisely kept the conversation on the film’s content, never mentioning Fang Kai, which amused and warmed Da Bao’s heart.
"Has anyone ever told you, you’re getting smarter?"
Praising her, Da Bao leaned down to plant a kiss on her cheek as a reward.
"Really? So, it turns out I’m smart too, just a late bloomer?"
Nuonuo cheekily nudged him in his embrace and sneakily tickled Da Bao under his arms too.
Although Da Bao wasn’t ticklish, the young girl was.
He retaliated by using her own technique against her, tickling her as she had done to him.
They playfully rolled around on the bed, giggling and teasing each other from the headboard to the footboard, until someone inadvertently pressed the remote, freezing the big screen on [TheEnd].
The story in the film ended, along with the dedicated performances of its handsome and beautiful actors, but the joyful playful banter of the two lovers on the bed was destined to never end in their lives; their story with each other would never mark [TheEnd].
...
Though Da Bao recognized Director Sun’s talent and abilities, he still suggested Nuonuo carefully read the script before deciding whether to take on this film.
After all, this would be Nuonuo’s first big break into the film industry, and both Da Bao, Ji Rui’s parents, and even Nuonuo hoped this debut would be loud and successful.
News of Nuonuo wanting to enter showbiz soon reached Mr. Ji’s ears. The elderly man made a special trip to the Ji Family, using emotional appeals to say a great deal to Ji Rui’s parents, only to be convinced by the younger generation instead. Thus, his objections were quashed before they even reached Nuonuo’s ears.
Understandingly, Nuonuo brought up the matter when she returned to the mansion for a meal with her grandfather on Saturday. Already comforted by Ji Rui’s family, Mr. Ji naturally didn’t voice any objections, only advising her to be cautious, and if faced with unsolvable issues, not to hide them and so forth, saying a lot in a stream.
Nuonuo listened obediently, nodding in agreement all the way.
Regarding Yang Sheng’s side, there was naturally no opposition, and Yang Liu even joked that Nuonuo should send them a truckload of autographed photos for selling once her fame skyrockets!
Nuonuo’s focus in life shifted once again.
She solemnly informed Teacher Fan about her decision. Although Teacher Fan found it unfortunate, he respected her choice.
While still deliberating on whether to take Director Sun’s film, Nuonuo reconnected with Teacher Tan who previously taught her acting. After visiting twice personally, she finally gained Teacher Tan’s forgiveness, who agreed to take her back as a student and resume teaching her acting courses.
Besides this, Nuonuo also asked her former martial arts instructor of the three siblings to enroll her in a famous bodyguard training camp in R City. Known nationwide for its rigorous training, many even come from other cities or provinces for it, and securing a slot for training isn’t easy for an ordinary person.
Da Bao simply assumed Nuonuo enrolled in this training for Director Sun’s film because the heroine is a skilled female agent.
He admired her dedication but felt she didn’t need to endure such harsh training for a few brief fight scenes, which could easily be handled by stunt doubles.
Furthermore, she hadn’t decided whether to take the film yet, right?
"Brother, I’m not solely joining this training for the film; it’s for my personal safety. I know you’ll always protect me, but even the best bodyguard can’t be with me 24/7. If I can protect myself, you all can be more at ease!"
