Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 827 - 825: Da Bao’s Overbearing Nature (First Update)
In the following days, Nuonuo and Little Treasure ran back and forth between the mansion and the hospital, spending the day at the hospital accompanying and taking care of the Old Master, and returning to the mansion to rest at night.
During these days, Da Bao and the others never appeared at the hospital, nor did they return to the mansion. Nuonuo and Little Treasure did not ask, so the Old Master also said nothing.
Of course, Nuonuo and Little Treasure did not mention it in front of the Old Master because they did not want him to worry.
After returning home, the siblings still contacted their parents and brother daily.
From the short but regular phone calls every day, the siblings knew that their parents and brother were busy dealing with company matters with their uncle. As for resting, they stayed at a hotel next to the Yang Mansion to save time from commuting back and forth.
Nuonuo assured their parents and brother with confidence, "The Old Master is under the care of me and Little Treasure. You don’t have to worry, brother."
It was probably because of the siblings’ presence that the adults could go about handling the company’s affairs with peace of mind.
In the blink of an eye, the Ji Family had been in Beijing for a week.
That day, Nuonuo and Little Treasure were pushing the Old Master in a wheelchair for a walk in the small garden on the rooftop terrace when Uncle Jing walked over and whispered a few words in the Old Master’s ear. The Old Master nodded after listening.
"Mm, then let’s go back too!"
The Old Master inadvertently showed a relaxed expression, probably because things at the Yang Family were mostly resolved.
Nuonuo and Little Treasure exchanged a glance and, understanding each other well, turned the wheelchair around and pushed it towards the elevator.
Uncle Jing directly pressed the button for the B1 parking lot, indicating that someone had already packed things up from the ward.
At this point, Nuonuo became more certain that the Old Master wasn’t actually sick; staying at the hospital was just a cover.
Or, perhaps, he just didn’t want the unfilial descendants to return to the mansion and bother him, so he simply claimed to be seriously ill. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Or maybe it was a bit of both.
Anyway, as Nuonuo and Little Treasure didn’t ask, the Old Master and Uncle Jing feigned ignorance.
"Little baby, what do you want to eat tonight? Let Grandpa Jing arrange it now."
The Old Master, in high spirits, was planning dinner, and the two children naturally responded eagerly. The Old Master himself could only eat liquid food, so he thoughtfully arranged the dinner menu to make the younger generations happy.
As dinner time approached, Yang Sheng was the first to step into the mansion, followed by Chu Ran, and of course, Le Tong’s couple and Da Bao.
The five of them looked quite tired, but they all had smiles on their faces, so it seemed things were resolved satisfactorily.
During dinner, the family chatted idly, and no one steered the conversation toward the Yang Family’s recent internal conflict. They finished the lively meal and moved to the living room to chat.
Even the Old Master, who usually goes to bed by nine o’clock, stayed in the living room to chat with everyone.
"Sheng, you should take after Tongtong and keep the kids at your side, so there’s more life at home." The Old Master had always been bothered by Yang Sheng sending his children abroad to study, and he couldn’t help complaining again.
"Grandpa, don’t you still have Da Bao, Little Treasure, and Nuonuo with you?" Yang Sheng had long been adept at handling the Old Master’s complaints.
"Nuonuo, wouldn’t it be nice to attend university in Beijing like Little Treasure?" The Old Master yearned for Nuonuo to study in Beijing so he could see her often.
Like this past year, Little Treasure would surely take some time each week to accompany the Old Master. If Little Treasure didn’t show up, the Old Master would have Uncle Jing take him to B University to find Little Treasure.
Nuonuo did not answer immediately. Instead, she glanced meaningfully at Da Bao before responding to the Old Master.
"Great Grandpa, my grades are average. I can probably only get into a university in R City."
Those present all smiled knowingly, while the Old Master bluntly exposed her.
"Come on, just say you want to become Da Bao’s junior and stop beating around the bush."
Nuonuo’s face turned slightly red, but she shamelessly argued.
"Great Grandpa, I just want to become Mommy’s junior. Can’t I do even that?"
The Old Master pinched her cheek, "Hmph, it’s clear you’re just pretending to hide the truth."
When Nuonuo and Da Bao finally had a moment alone, Da Bao leaned in with a mischievous smile, "Nuo, you want to attend R University, just to be Mommy’s junior?"
Nuonuo shot him a sidelong glance, "What else could it be?"
Da Bao kissed her lips with a smile, then lay down on the bed, resting his head on her thigh, looking up at her with a pitiful face.
"I’ve had a tough week; couldn’t you say some nice things to console me? Even if it’s just lies to make me happy!"
Nuonuo knew he was pretending to be pitiful but couldn’t help feeling soft-hearted. She looked at him tenderly, gently brushing her fair hand over the slight stubble on his chin.
"You know perfectly well I want to attend R University because of you!" She said with a shy, curl-covered face.
Even though Da Bao already knew this was what Nuonuo truly felt, hearing her admit it felt incredibly wonderful!
Though physically exhausted, Da Bao, in a cheerful mood, propped himself up on one elbow and gave the little girl a peck on the cheek, then slipped down again to use her leg as a pillow, encircling her with his arms tightly.
"It’s a good thing you’ve realized this; otherwise, I’d worry I might force you to settle for any university in R City. All I’ll say is, don’t even think about studying at a distant university!"
Da Bao spoke, burying his head into her clothes and taking a deep breath of her scent.
Nuonuo could tell how tired he was from the look in his eyes but playfully protested, "Brother, you’re so overbearing!" she said, yet her hands gently rested on his head, mimicking a masseuse to softly massage his head and neck.
Initially, Da Bao would occasionally guide her, pointing out that the pressure was too strong or the spots weren’t right, but after a few minutes, he went completely silent, his breathing becoming steady, yet his arms around her waist never loosened.
Nuonuo knew he must have been worn out over these past few days, so she carefully pried his hands away, letting him lie comfortably in bed, pulling the quilt over him and tucking him in, before bending down to kiss him and softly saying "Goodnight!"
The next morning, when Nuonuo woke up, it was still early, but the other side of the bed was empty.
Nuonuo distinctly remembered that after settling him in last night, she read for over an hour, and when she lay down beside him, he was still sleeping like a log.
Nuonuo squinted her eyes, thinking about whether her brother had moved to his room while he slept or had woken up early straight away.
Then, the sound of the door opening broke the silence, and she heard, "Lazy pig, why aren’t you getting up if you are awake?"
Nuonuo abruptly opened her eyes and turned her head to meet the sparkling, teasing gaze of the handsome man peeking out from the bathroom.
