Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 785 - 783: All Suffering Is Self-Inflicted (First Update)
Over the past month of focused learning, Nuonuo has significantly improved her acting and body language, making the filming of the new season’s advertisement go very smoothly.
Little Treasure and Da Bao specially rushed back from Beijing to accompany her, spending a day filming both in the studio and on location, perfectly wrapping up the first phase of shooting.
Of course, what constitutes as smooth and perfect were from the perspectives of the director and photographer.
For Nuonuo, the back-to-back high-intensity shooting from morning till night over two days was far beyond what her body could handle.
So, when she heard the director shout, "OK, perfect, wrap up!" her previously perfect posture that fit the director’s ideal image suddenly collapsed like a deflated balloon, her body swaying unsteadily a few times before tipping over to one side.
Not far from the stage and with eyes that hardly left her, Da Bao’s expression changed dramatically as he stepped forward onto the stage with large strides.
Just when Nuonuo thought she was bound to kiss the ground this time, her arm was suddenly grabbed, and a strong pull lifted her upward from almost hitting the ground.
The slightly dazed Nuonuo hadn’t had time to react before she had already crashed heavily into a warm embrace.
Nuonuo instinctively thought this person was her brother, but what filled her nose was an unfamiliar perfume scent.
In Nuonuo’s memory, her brother never used perfume, though he always carried a faint mint-like fresh scent, so definitely, the person who saved her from kissing the ground wasn’t her brother.
"How are you, not hurt, right?" A not-so-foreign voice reached her ears, and Nuonuo looked up to see a youthful, handsome face.
This man was her new-season co-star, Ning Yan.
Nuonuo, still recovering from the fright, took a deep breath, about to thank him when her arm was grabbed again, and in the blink of an eye, she was transferred from Ning Yan’s arms to another embrace with a faint minty fresh scent.
"Thank you for catching my sister!" Above the thin air, her Brother Da Bao expressed his polite gratitude.
"You’re welcome, Si Han, are you okay?"
Ning Yan’s beautiful eyes were tightly fixed on the face that was in his embrace a second ago but now leaned against another man’s chest.
Nuonuo blinked twice, covering the disturbance in her eyes, and gave Ning Yan a grateful smile.
"I’m fine, thank you!"
With that, she struggled out of Da Bao’s arms and stood steady.
Da Bao’s worried eyes stayed on her face, "Fainted from hunger, right? Come on, let’s get something to eat. Little Treasure just went out and bought some porridge; eat it while it’s hot."
Because the photographer was very strict, both Nuonuo and Ning Yan had only eaten in the morning, but since Ning Yan was a guy, he was a bit more resilient to hunger than Nuonuo.
Before Nuonuo could give her opinion, Da Bao had already led her away from the filming stage, where two assistants were helping distribute the takeaway that Little Treasure had bought to the staff present.
Nuonuo was seated on a chair by Da Bao, and Little Treasure pushed the porridge toward her.
Da Bao pulled out a wet wipe, lifted Nuonuo’s chin, and silently wiped off her brightly colored lipstick under her puzzled gaze.
"Alright, you can eat now."
Da Bao’s eyes were filled with concern, but his tone was extremely gentle. He knew that Nuonuo loved her job, so even though he couldn’t bear to see her suffer like this, he still tried his best to understand and support her.
Nuonuo was indeed starving; otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone limp and fallen to the ground upon hearing the director call it a wrap.
Little Treasure handed her a spoon, but she directly picked up the bowl and gulped down half of the rice porridge in one go.
"Sister, why do you put yourself through this?"
In Little Treasure’s opinion, taking on this advertisement was initially just for fun, and he thought his sister shared the same view — that it was just for a bit of fun.
But having watched the past two days of filming, Little Treasure deeply felt that compared to when they filmed the youth series years ago, the requirements now seemed much more stringent, and the filming intensity was much greater, making him feel his sister was unnecessarily tormenting herself.
After drinking more than half the bowl of porridge, Nuonuo’s long-empty stomach finally warmed up. She heard Little Treasure’s questioning but was too lazy to explain.
"Little Treasure, give me the snacks." She pointed to the hotel-branded food box beside Little Treasure, which should contain her favorite snacks.
Still upset with her, Little Treasure saw her ignoring his question and threw a small tantrum, turning his head away and not speaking to her, even pushing the food box a bit farther away.
Da Bao glanced over at his sulking brother, patted his head lightly, and advised.
"Alright, you can scold her after she’s eaten something. You’ll feel bad if she starves herself, won’t you?"
Though Little Treasure was upset, he felt just as much heartache as Da Bao for this little girl with the starved and vacant eyes.
With a "snap," he tossed the food box in front of Nuonuo, continuing to turn his head away from her.
Nuonuo found it amusing, but she was too hungry even to have the energy to laugh. At the moment, she couldn’t be bothered with this sulking kid and eagerly opened the food box, wanting to wolf it all down in one gulp.
"Young Master Ji, thank you for the snacks and food!"
A shadow flashed past, and as soon as the words left her mouth, there was a new person in the chair next to Little Treasure — it was Ning Yan.
"You’re welcome!" Da Bao shot him a glance, quickly looking back at the little girl devouring her food with her head down.
His large palm gently rested on her back as he softly reminded her, "Eat slowly, don’t choke."
Ning Yan watched Nuonuo enviously, "Si Han, you’re so lucky to have your brother and little brother keeping you company while shooting an ad."
Ning Yan’s gaze on Nuonuo gradually shifted from envy to intrigue.
Nuonuo was still focusing on stuffing snacks into her mouth. She wasn’t a professional model and couldn’t withstand such hunger.
Sitting opposite her, Ning Yan, a professional model, was used to shooting on an empty stomach. At this moment, he was leisurely eating a slice of pizza, his gaze on Nuonuo growing increasingly complicated.
Da Bao’s entire attention was initially on Nuonuo, and occasionally when he looked up, he caught Ning Yan’s pensive gaze lingering on her.
"Mr. Ning, it seems your assistant is looking for you."
Da Bao, sharp-eyed, noticed the anxious assistant not far away, the assistant of this young model.
Ning Yan was momentarily stunned, turning back to meet the small assistant’s eyes.
"Mr. Ning, could you please come over for a moment?"
A random excuse from Da Bao had turned out to be real.
"Si Han, we’ll chat later." Ning Yan cast a regretful glance at Nuonuo, hurriedly stood up, and, leaving a parting remark for Nuonuo, quickly made his way to the little assistant.
