Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 636 - 634: A Qualified Dad (Part 1)
Although Le Tong repeatedly assured Ji Rui that their eldest son indeed had no romantic interests, Ji Rui, as a father, was genuinely concerned.
Because Da Bao was always so worry-free, Mr. Ji, who rarely interacted directly with Da Bao’s teachers, unexpectedly visited Da Bao’s class teacher, Teacher Zhang, at school a few days later.
Initially, he considered whether to go with Le Tong.
But after careful deliberation, he decided not to worry Le Tong too much, as she’s usually the one shouldering more when it comes to family and children, it was time for him, as the father, to contribute.
After all, if Da Bao indeed was entering adolescence as he suspected, being a man himself, he might better understand his son’s thoughts and actions, making communication easier.
Teacher Zhang was extremely nervous when summoned to the principal’s office, worried that she might have done something wrong and would be reprimanded privately by the principal.
Seeing that handsome man sitting in the reception room, whom she had only seen on television and financial journals, made Teacher Zhang even more nervous.
In comparison, while the principal was intimidating, he was nothing compared to Ji Rui, a man whose aura and social status could easily crush others. The principal seemed like a small insect, and Ji Rui was the terrifying carnivorous dinosaur.
"Mr. Ji, hello!" Not waiting for the principal to introduce them, Teacher Zhang approached Ji Rui and greeted him proactively.
Ji Rui’s powerful presence made Teacher Zhang feel like a student who had made a big mistake.
"Hello, Teacher Zhang, please have a seat."
Ji Rui stood up as well, shook hands with Teacher Zhang, and they both sat down.
Without any pleasantries, Ji Rui went straight to the point, "Sorry to disturb you, Teacher Zhang. I came today primarily to learn about Ji Yu’s situation at school."
Teacher Zhang promptly responded, "Mr. Ji, rest assured, Ji Yu is very intelligent; academically, he’s never been a concern for us teachers. With him around, being top of the grade is always in the bag."
When it came to academics, Ji Rui was very confident. With his son’s capabilities, being top of the grade was unsurprising.
"Ji Yu’s excellence is entirely due to the meticulous guidance of the teachers. I’m here to express my thanks. I came today mainly to understand how Ji Yu gets along with his classmates at school."
Teacher Zhang was full of praises for Ji Yu.
"Ji Yu gets along very well with his classmates, there’s absolutely no need for concern, Mr. Ji. The only slight regret is that, despite his incredible leadership and management skills, he’s unwilling to hold any position in the class or school."
Understanding his beloved son, Ji Rui knew that Da Bao’s reluctance to take on any class duties probably had to do with his two younger siblings. As a brother who adored his siblings, he wanted nothing more than to spend all his time with them, apart from the time necessary for school. Where would he find time to help the teachers with class affairs?
Of course, it’s not that Da Bao lacks a collective spirit, but in his eyes, family has always been far more important than anything or anyone else.
"We, the parents, are to blame for this. Ji Yu is an advanced student, and we were worried that he might not keep up with his studies, so we privately hired a tutor for him, leaving him with not much time."
When Da Bao advanced to middle school, he had mentioned this, so Ji Rui’s explanation perfectly matched Da Bao’s previous statement.
Teacher Zhang nodded repeatedly, "Yes, he mentioned the reason before. We understand. Moreover, he’s actually quite young, and putting too much pressure on him isn’t good."
Upon hearing this, Ji Rui felt it was time to delve a little deeper into the issue.
"Yes, he’s still young. The classmates around him are generally two to three years older. As parents, we are quite concerned about how he interacts with students, so we’d like to understand who he interacts with more at school."
Ji Rui was unusually patient, asking the question quite tactfully.
By now, he had gradually learned how to be a qualified dad.
Teacher Zhang thought for a moment, "He has good relations with his classmates; he seems to be closer to Yin Zhihao, Ren Weiqi, and a few other boys. These students are a bit mischievous, but they have good character and treat Ji Yu well, so Mr. Ji, you can rest assured."
It appeared Teacher Zhang misunderstood, thinking Ji Rui was worried his beloved son might be bullied at school.
The information Teacher Zhang provided was consistent with what Ji Rui had predicted, but he wanted to learn more than just that.
"And the female classmates?"
Teacher Zhang paused, and before she could discern the true intent behind Ji Rui’s question, she answered frankly.
"Ji Yu gets along well with female classmates in the class, but none particularly well. He seems to prefer interacting with male classmates."
"What about in other classes?" At this point, Ji Rui had completely forgotten about pleasantries, his questions were direct and concise.
Teacher Zhang shook her head decisively, "No, apart from classes, Ji Yu rarely stays on campus, especially this term. He runs to the kindergarten as soon as school lets out, saying he’s going to pick up his siblings."
A faint smile emerged on Ji Rui’s lips, "Yes, this term the siblings started kindergarten. Since we’re usually busy and have no time to pick up the children, he, as the brother, is responsible for that."
Ji Rui talked with Teacher Zhang for nearly a class period. The conclusion was that his beloved eldest son was excellent in every aspect, except for being overly attached to home (which Mr. Ji considered a positive trait), without anything particularly challenging.
As for Mr. Ji’s concerns about early romance issues, naturally, that was not happening.
Having practically discussed everything with Teacher Zhang, Ji Rui stood up to take his leave. Seeing the time was near school dismissal, he decided to give his beloved son a surprise.
As soon as the school bell rang, Da Bao swiftly slung his backpack over his shoulder and exited the classroom through the front door, only to find the usually clear corridor was occupied by a tall man standing in front of him.
Da Bao looked up in surprise, "Daddy, what are you doing here?"
Ji Rui was quite satisfied with his son’s reaction, smiling as he draped an arm over his shoulder, "I came to pick you up from school!"
Following behind Da Bao, Yin Zhihao and Ren Weiqi greeted Ji Rui with smiles, "Hello, Uncle Ji!"
Ji Rui waved at them with a smile and wrapped an arm around Da Bao’s shoulder, leading him toward the kindergarten.
After the surprise, Da Bao lifted his head to scrutinize him closely, "Daddy, be honest, what are you doing at school?"
Ji Rui responded formally, "I came to check on the progress of the new teaching building your school is constructing, as the donor."
Da Bao didn’t believe him, "Uncle Xiao Li would handle such things."
His daddy was the president of the Ji Empire. If he had to personally manage such trivial matters, he’d probably be too busy even to have time to eat.
