Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 602 - 600 Wedding Part II (Second Update)_2
"Grandpa, are you deliberately trying to make Tongtong cry? If you keep this up, I’ll be the one to hand her over to Rui!"
Yang Sheng’s threat was very effective. Old Master indeed didn’t dare to say any more sentimental words, obediently escorting Le Tong as they hastened their steps toward the groom at the other end of the red carpet.
It wasn’t until they were just a few meters away from Ji Rui that Le Tong got a clear view. Ji Rui, in a black suit, looked even more handsome than usual, and for once, his usually composed face was full of anxiety and anticipation.
When Old Master and Le Tong stood in front of him, Ji Rui called out, "Grandpa!"
Then, he respectfully bowed deeply to Old Master Yang. As he straightened up, he extended his hand to Le Tong.
Le Tong, sharp-eyed as ever, noticed that the hands, which had weathered countless storms, were actually trembling slightly.
"Ji Rui, today I, Old Yang, am entrusting my most precious granddaughter to you. In the future, if you dare to treat her poorly in any way, I’ll break your legs!"
The Old Master, changing his usual friendly demeanor towards Ji Rui, sternly admonished.
Ji Rui slightly bowed his head, emphatically promising,
"Grandpa, don’t worry, I’ll love her and protect her well!"
The Old Master gave a nod of approval, gently placing Le Tong’s hand into Ji Rui’s slightly trembling palm.
Ji Rui’s hands have always been warm. Today is no exception, although besides warmth, there was a hint of moisture that Le Tong could feel even through her gloves.
Holding Le Tong’s hands with both of his, Ji Rui looked at her intently, face to face.
This woman, he had known for three years.
But every time he looked at her, he found her a little more beautiful.
Being gazed at so affectionately by Ji Rui in front of everyone, Le Tong couldn’t help but blush, her makeup unable to conceal her rising flush.
"You’re so beautiful!"
Looking at her like an infatuated idiot, Ji Rui made Le Tong feel even more embarrassed. She pinched the back of his hand, signaling him not to be so mushy; there were over a thousand guests present!
Ji Rui seemed not to understand her meaning, or perhaps he understood but didn’t plan to follow her wish. He kept staring until he’d had enough, then swept her into his arms with a long embrace.
"Wow, kiss her, kiss her!"
The surrounding applause and cheers erupted, while the master of ceremonies awkwardly said from the side,
"The groom truly loves the bride, already embracing before exchanging rings..."
Struggling in Ji Rui’s tight embrace, Le Tong wanted to say something to him, but the man suddenly held her shoulders and pushed her away, taking her hand and murmuring in her ear, "Baby, come with me!"
Le Tong was stunned for half a second, but the trust in this man outweighed everything. She responded with a soft "mm," lifted the long train of her gown from the ground, and followed his lead in starting to run.
"Hey, groom! Mr. Ji! The ceremony hasn’t begun yet, where are you running off to?"
The emcee’s anxious voice echoed through the venue, followed by the guests calling out as well.
Ji Rui, however, ignored the commotion behind him, holding Le Tong’s hand as they ran forward. After ten or so steps, realizing Le Tong couldn’t keep up with her high heels, he promptly crouched down, took off her shoes, and before she understood what was happening, lifted her into his arms.
Thus, the emcee and guests watched with wide eyes as the tall man in a black suit ran like a prince carrying his princess forward, the wind lifting her white wedding dress and long black hair, while the black-clad prince sprinted toward their shared happiness with lightning speed.
When Ji Rui finally came to a stop, the breathless Le Tong saw they were standing in a circular platform.
"What is this?"
Le Tong felt the platform gently shaking. Looking up, she discovered a mushroom-shaped top like that of a hot air balloon above them.
As the platform jostled again a few more times, Le Tong could feel it slowly leaving the ground and became almost sure of what it was.
"Is this a hot air balloon?"
Ji Rui nodded, leaned over, and pressed his forehead against hers, his deep green eyes gazing into hers.
"Do you like it?"
Le Tong’s heart hadn’t calmed down yet, and her eyes caught sight of the guests below still gasping in surprise. "What about them?"
Ji Rui gently kissed her lips, "Silly, marriage is about the two of us. Why worry about them?"
Le Tong rolled her eyes internally. If there was an award for the most willful groom, it would surely go to Ji Rui!
"Then why did you invite them?" Le Tong asked exasperatedly.
"For the excitement!" Ji Rui grinned.
With their foreheads touching as they whispered softly, the hot air balloon rose steadily into the sky.
"Look, isn’t it beautiful?"
Ji Rui released Le Tong and pointed to the view outside.
Looking out, Le Tong saw an expanse of blue sky with the guests’ faces already indistinguishable below.
Retracting her gaze, Le Tong suppressed her excitement. The previous noise had faded away, leaving only the sound of the wind, and before her was the man she loved most who would accompany her through life.
"It’s beautiful!"
The man pulled her close, kissed her lips, and said softly, "But you are even more beautiful!"
Blushing deeply, Le Tong feared what sappy words he might say next.
But Ji Rui once again pushed her away, magically producing a small brocade box from which he pulled out two rings. Picking up the women’s ring with his slender fingers, he held it out to Le Tong.
"Le Tong, will you marry me? Through poverty and sickness, will you stay by my side, unwavering, for life?"
Biting her lip, Le Tong extended her left hand, "I will!"
After Ji Rui’s hands stopped trembling long enough to slip the ring on, Le Tong picked up the men’s ring and repeated Ji Rui’s words, with the roles reversed.
"Ji Rui, will you marry me? Through poverty and sickness, will you stay by my side, unwavering, for life? No matter how capricious or emotional I might be, will you always love and cherish me with a tolerant heart?"
Ji Rui responded deeply, "I will!"
The ring was immediately secured onto Ji Rui’s slender ring finger.
From this moment, he, Ji Rui, belonged only to her, Le Tong!
And she, Le Tong, belonged only to him, Ji Rui!
With heaven and earth as witnesses! With the sun and moon as proof!
