Inside these creatures lies the genetic code they desire.
"Can you show me that thing again?" Su Ziyu asked softly after boarding the helicopter.
Zero hesitated for a moment, then handed the paper over again, saying, "Don’t damage it. We still need to conduct tests when we get back."
It looked like an ordinary piece of oil paper.
The map drawn on it was also hand-drawn, somewhat resembling the style of an oil painting artist. The coordinates seemed to be located in a certain sea area, with a swirling mark beside it, below which was a massive underwater city. The drawing wasn’t very clear, but on the back was a huge and terrifying shadow, looming over everything like a giant.

"Cthulhu..."
An incredibly eerie whisper suddenly echoed in Su Ziyu’s mind, making him instantly feel a terrifying chill run down his spine.
Fortunately, this wasn’t the first time he used Spiritual Vision.
Su Ziyu almost instinctively cut off the ability, isolating the eerie whisper from his mind, but in the fleeting moment when the vision ceased, he still vaguely saw something—a huge phantom of a giant, its form indistinct but showing octopus-like tentacles and a humanoid silhouette, seemingly aware of Su Ziyu, slowly opening its eyes.
All traces gradually faded away.
At some point, Su Ziyu was already drenched in cold sweat. What he had just seen was something sensed by the person who drew this map, the lingering spirituality activated, connecting him as well to that eerie place.
"What happened?" Leon, beside him, asked with concern.
"Nothing," Su Ziyu shook his head, hesitated slightly, and said, "Are you really going to look for those ghostly things?"
"That place might be extremely dangerous!"
At this time, Zero’s voice was heard, serious: "We must find out what exactly these [Old Gods] are!"
"The outbreak of the catastrophe might be related to them!"
"The test results of the Old God’s creation have come out. Its cells can almost divide infinitely without limitation and possess frightening vitality and corrosiveness. Dr. C said it is a terrifying species we’ve never seen before."
"They are even more dangerous than Mutants!"
"It’s even possible that the birth of Mutants is linked to them."
The situation was becoming increasingly complex.
With a gradual increase in understanding, much of the Wasteland World’s mist dispersed, and Su Ziyu saw more than before. Those terrifying entities indeed existed in this world, and the birth of Mutants wasn’t simply due to radiation pollution.
Corpse Ghosts too, would not die of old age.
Some Corpse Ghosts were even humans from before the catastrophe, with some having lived for over two hundred years.
Just as Su Ziyu was lost in thought, the Space-Time Monitor System suddenly surged with vast data flows, promptly bringing forth certain prompts:

"An unknown Old God exists in the current plane!... Activating the Space-Time Monitor System’s autonomous response mode!..."

"Mission objective: Seal or eradicate the existence of the Old God!"
"Mission reward: Significant upgrade in authority level!... Substantial drop of Divinity Value!... Expand dream, space, spirit, spiritual energy, flesh mutation skill tree!..."
"Mark the current plane."
"Re-evaluating pollution severity, the current pollution severity is—[High Pollution]!"
"Unlock Old God database."
"Activate [Demigod] progression route enhancement!..."
The sudden influx of data slightly bewildered Su Ziyu, and as relevant information was unlocked, some materials left by previous Space-Time Inspectors also surfaced in his mind.
Old Gods.
Eldritch Dominators!
Some terrifying existences that once ruled the cosmos in ancient times, they are a special class of deities in the universe, born in an unknown transcendent space, with footprints across the universe. Previous Space-Time Inspectors have faced them but didn’t gain a significant advantage. Some extremely powerful Old Gods even roam the universe physically, corrupting any world they discover. Many planes’ sources of pollution originate from them.
Old Gods excel in spiritual pollution and flesh corruption.
They can easily drive a person mad, transforming them into various terrifying creatures.
Fortunately, most Old Gods had been sealed or annihilated by the Ancient Gods, but as ages passed and the Ancient Gods gradually withdrew, some once-sealed Old Gods sneaked out.
This mission is somewhat tricky.
To be honest, with Su Ziyu’s current abilities, tackling such a challenging mainline mission seems unmanageable.
Most fortunate is that the energy level of this world is too low.
Due to an energy level of only 1, the plane suppression faced by those Old Gods might be more severe than Su Ziyu’s. The Old God faintly perceived just now seemed trapped at the seabed, with only its spirit manifesting outward, not its true form.
Everything can only be dealt with after returning.
The Brotherhood now splits into two routes, one continuing to track Solomon’s traces, the other beginning to investigate these so-called ’Deep Divers’.
The rough location marked on the map is in the Pacific Ocean.
This means the underwater city Su Ziyu saw is located somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
However, exploring the Pacific Ocean is extremely difficult, as it is a severely polluted area post-catastrophe with a huge population of marine mutant creatures and some ultra-large-sized monsters active in that region.
For now, we can only wait for the Brotherhood’s news.
The Glowing Sea.
This is a region of high radiation pollution but serves as the headquarters of the Mechanical Atomist Pantheon.
Once a place of intense large-scale warfare, the nearby area bears marks of numerous nuclear explosions, along with plenty of tank wreckage. These unusual tanks feature dual barrels, known as ’Apocalypse’ during the Old World era.
Massively equipped during the Cold War period.
The Mechanical Atomist Pantheon headquarters was established on a military site in the Glowing Sea, where only core members of the church operate. They possess incredible resistance to radiation, able to move freely in this highly polluted region. Members of this church venerate radiation, viewing the advent of the radiation era as analogous to the biblical Great Flood, a purifying force to rebuild civilization anew.
A cloaked figure appeared here.
All around were withered trees, and occasionally, one could see old exoskeleton armors from the Old World, the skeletal remains inside weathered, leaving just severely rusted lumps of iron.
Pale green hair lifted gently.
Mother Yisodel suddenly halted her steps, speaking in a firm voice: "Come out. You’ve followed me long enough, it’s time to show yourself."
Clap, clap.
With light laughter and applause, a middle-aged man with golden hair emerged from the shadows, wearing a suit and tie, looking like an elite of the Old World, starkly contrasting with the surroundings.
"Solomon!..." Mother Yisodel frowned.
Vigilantly watching the man before her, she said slowly, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to borrow something from you," Solomon said softly.
A faint glow appeared on Mother Yisodel’s body, and she frowned, asking, "What is it?"
Solomon chuckled and said casually, "Your body."
As his words fell.
A dark red tentacle formed by numerous muscular blood vessels suddenly broke through the ground, wrapping itself around Mother Yisodel’s body.
