Chapter 446: She liked Kyle

Then, the crafter’s attention fell on me again.

"You’re right. Everything you said is right. I don’t give a damn about your commission or this meeting. But... Don’t think you’re a special case. It’s not just you. I don’t give a damn about anyone." He said and loaded proudly.

What? Is he wrong in the head or something?

His character just took a hundred-degree turn around. From a nonchalant craftsman, to an extremely energetic gangster.

"My name is Kyle," he suddenly said and then swiped his hair back, revealing the face that was hidden under those curled locks and the emerald eyes that immediately caught my attention. "Bastard Kyle,"

My eyes widened.

And no, it’s not because he’s someone I remember in the novel. I don’t know a thing about this bastard.

What’s got my eyes widened in shock is how his eyes look a lot like Jin-Yeok’s and... How handsome he was.

He was hiding all that handsomeness under those rough curls.

He’s definitely my type.

As soon as I thought of that, I slapped some sense into my head.

What was I thinking just now?

I quickly formatted my brain to stop such thoughts.

No, no, this guy is not my type. Though he is handsome and his build is perfect, he is a rude bastard who apparently was trying to test me.

Plus, I have no room for more men in my life so that’s off the table.

Anyway, is it just me or does it seem like the subordinates of my men all want to test me?

If I’m right, and the bastard of a boss Kyle was talking about was Jin-Yeok, then Jin-Yeok must’ve told him something about me that made him want to try me out.

Just what are these men talking about me behind my back?

"You say you’re like that with everyone?" I asked and he proudly nodded his head. "Well, that makes you even worse. Bastard," I hissed.

He took a peek at me, trying to assess me, and I sighed.

"I don’t know why I have to work with the likes of you," I said and turned to the manager. "Is there really no one else I can leave my commission with?"

"There are, but..." He glanced at Kyle, who was smirking proudly. "He’s the best out of the best, that’s why..."

"Yeah, if you want the best work done, then it has to be by me." He said and folded his arms.

He looked pretty confident that I was going to leave the work to him. He, his emerald eyes, his strong build, and his unbelievably handsome face were just so full of it.

I sighed.

"Then I guess I have no choice," I said and turned to Jie-Yu. "Come on, Noona, let’s go."

"What?!" He snapped, shocked.

But my eyes were fixed on Jie-Yu, who, for some reason, wouldn’t take her eyes off that madman over there.

Wait, that soft look in her eyes, her absentmindedness, and the blush on her cheek... Don’t tell me...

I snapped my fingers in front of her and she snapped out of her delusion.

"Huh? W-what?"

"Noona, what’s up!" I asked but she used her hair to hide her face.

"It’s... It’s nothing." She said, but it was clear it wasn’t nothing.

She liked Kyle. Well, let’s just say she liked his handsome face.

"You can’t just leave after I wasted my precious time coming here." He said and I clicked my tongue.

"Well, I wasted my precious time too, so we’re even," I said, but then realized something. "Ah, no, we aren’t even, because now I have to start looking for someone else to take my commission since working with you doesn’t seem safe at all."

"What do you mean, doesn’t seem safe? I’m the best there is." He claimed but I wasn’t buying it.

Not only was he rude, but he was also Jin-Yeok’s close subordinate, it seemed. So, what I wanted to make would reach Jin-Yeok’s ears and it would no longer be a secret.

"Whatever. Let’s just go, Noona," I said, getting up but he got up faster than me and blocked my path.

"Hey, stay outside for a moment." He said to the manager who was dumbstruck and didn’t want to listen.

"I can’t do that. Who knows what you’ll do?"

"Then do you want me to throw you out myself?" He glared at the manager.

He had such a violent temper.

"I won’t hurt him so just leave, dammit!"

I looked at the manager and said,

"It’s fine, just wait outside," I said.

"Then I should also," Jie-Yu wanted to leave as well but I stopped her.

I don’t have the confidence to do anything against this guy on my own. Of course, I don’t think even both of us could take him on, but maybe he would have a little sense of decency not to try anything if there was someone else in here with us.

"What do you want?" I asked, folding my arms.

"Why don’t you want to go ahead with the commission?" He asked.

"Because I don’t like your rude ass." I spat out plainly, and his lips crinkled, amused.

"You have quite the temper," he said and I scoffed, rolling my eyes away.

"You’re one to talk," I said. "I just don’t want to waste my time with you. Like you said, you’re like this with everyone. So I’m just showing you how I’m like to rude bastards like you. Get out of my way, if you have nothing else to say."

"Hm," he began to think, his hand pressed on his chin. "That bastard boss did say you could get cranky,"

I frowned.

"Is it Jin-Yeok?" I asked and he paused.

"Heard you were his lover." He said, "Seems it’s true."

"In that case, you’re quite outdated," I said and he narrowed his eyes.

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

"Forget it," I said. "When last did you hear from him?"

"Why are you asking me that?" He asked, but I didn’t respond; I just looked at him, waiting for his response. "Is it because you can’t reach him?"

Ah, he guessed right, but I’m not going to make him guess easily.

"Just answer the question. For all I know, you’re not the real craftsman that’s supposed to take my commission and you might be someone out to get him from a rival gang. That’s probably why you smell like Sulphur and metal."

"Hey, hey, hey, you’re quite sharp," he leaned closer and I shifted back, not wanting the space between us to thin any more than it already did. "For you to be able to catch the smell so well, you must be good with your nose."

I don’t know why I can smell it either. The things I usually sniff out easily are Pheromones.

But it’s too much to assume his Pheromones smell like Sulphur and metal. That’s too unromantic.

"You know, I was in a rut until recently," He said and I frowned, mumbling,

"You’re an Alpha?"

"Sure am? Why? Scared already?" He took a step closer but the likes of him don’t scare me.

If he wasn’t significant enough to be mentioned in the novel, then I don’t think he was that much of a threat to me.

"But for you to smell my Pheromones so well," he grinned, "Are you in heat?"
