Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 444: Do you really not want me to go with you?
The next morning, I got a call from an unknown number.
It took me a while before I decided to answer it because I have bad experiences with unknown callers.
And to my surprise, it was the manager from Jin-Yeok’s jewelry shop I had visited earlier.
You know, the one I gave my contact to in order to reach out to their craftsman, so that I can prepare special presents for the four of them.
Anyway, he told me he had discussed with the craftsman, so he would be at the shop today.
I could discuss with him exactly what I wanted him to do for me.
It got me excited and I quickly got ready to leave.
But just as I stepped out, I saw Jie-Yu.
"Ah, are you heading out?" She asked and I smiled awkwardly.
That’s right, I hadn’t told anyone yet. This could create a big mess if they suddenly think of the worst-case scenario. But I can’t have them go with me either.
"Yes, would you like to come with me?"
Her eyes lit up.
"Where are we going?"
"A jewelry shop," I said.
"You’re going to a jewelry shop?" I suddenly heard Ki-hoon’s voice behind me and turned.
Panicked, I kicked my own foot and fell, but he caught me.
"Careful, Jo-Pil." He said and I laughed.
"Thank you for catching me," I said as he placed me down on my feet. "And yes, I’m heading out. But you don’t have to worry, it’s no big deal."
"You can’t go out alone though." He said. "It’s dangerous out there."
"I’m not going alone," I said and suddenly hooked Jie-Yu’s arm. "I’m going with Jie-Yu."
She had been dragged into a situation before she even knew it.
She laughed awkwardly.
Ki-hoon did not like it. He wanted to be the one to go with me but it couldn’t be helped.
"Then, you at least need a few guards with you just in case." He said and I nodded. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Yes, better to have a few guards around. Even I know how dangerous the world is so I won’t object.
"Do you really not want me to go with you?" He asked, suddenly looking like a lost puppy.
I reached for him and caressed his face.
"It’s fine," I said. "We can go out some other time."
Ki-hoon hasn’t gotten to spend time with me as the others have. Maybe I’m neglecting him too much.
I have the whole day ahead of me after I meet the artisan so maybe I can call him then. That is, if something doesn’t suddenly crop up.
"Will you be free later?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yes, so won’t you let me come with you?" He asked, sinking into my palm as he gazed at me.
His gaze shot at my heart like a Cupid’s arrow, and it felt like I was falling for him all over again.
How can he be so cute when he acts the most mature around here?
"Not yet," I said and then hugged him.
His wide frame was enough to make me feel assured. We slept in the same bed the previous night, and thankfully, we didn’t do anything, but he held me tight from behind while Min-Cheol held me in the front, his head buried in my chest.
It was uncomfortable at first, but I soon lost myself in sleep as I stroked Min-Cheol’s hair, and listened to Ki-hoon’s heartbeat pounding against my back.
It felt like he was nervous but he didn’t say a word.
It’s not like it’s the first time we slept together, so why is he nervous every single time?
He also stroked my hair.
Maybe it was an action to make himself feel better or maybe he had sensed my little bit of unease and wanted to help. I’m telling you, hair strokes are the best when it comes to luring someone into sleep, haha.
The candles worked their magic too. It was a relaxing sleep.
I waved at Ki-hoon as I got into the car and that sad disappointment on his face made me twist my lips in sympathy.
I feel like I’m leaving my cute puppy to stay home alone while going to have fun by myself outside.
What a shame.
"Is something on your mind?" Jie-Yu asked and I turned to her from looking out the window.
I tried to smile and said,
"I’m just out of it from seeing Ki-hoon Hyung look so dejected," I explained. "But it’s alright," I leaned back into the chair. "I’ll make it up to him later."
She nodded.
"By the way, I know this isn’t something I should ask of a lady, but I’m curious," I said, leaning forward with a little excitement. "How old are you?"
The question took her aback and she took a moment to register. Why did I want to know her age?
"Well, I’m 29," she said and I blinked.
I was shocked.
Jie-Yu was 29 years old?
Ah, she definitely didn’t look it. She looked so much younger, and yet she was just one year closer to being 30.
She was older than all of us, and we didn’t even give her the respect she deserved.
Well, when it came to the standard of class and wealth, it didn’t matter if one was older. If their wealth weren’t up to par, they could suck up their age and only grit their teeth while the ones with real cash called the shots.
Hmmm.
I pressed my index finger on my chin, thinking. This won’t do.
"Can I call you Noona?" I suddenly sprang it up on her, smiling gleefully.
I always wanted to have a Noona, and the maids wouldn’t let me call them that either so I have no Noona.
"W-what?"
Of course, Jie-Yu didn’t think that way. To her, it was such a big deal for me to call her that.
"What’s the problem? You’re older than me, and we’re close, so me calling you that isn’t so bad."
"B-but still..." She clutched her dress, biting her lips as she thought of all the wrong reasons why I shouldn’t call her Noona.
"Then it’s settled!" I quickly sealed it, though.
I know how stubborn she can get, so instead of waiting to hear her one hundred and one reasons why I shouldn’t call her that, I clasped my hands together and said,
"Noona, don’t worry, you’re in safe hands."
She still looked uneasy but decided to give up, nodding.
"Then, I guess I don’t have a choice." She said, smiling. "I’ll be in your care once again,"
