Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 431: I never said I’d even go with the first person
I went about telling them about how we got caught up in the rain and had to look for shelter.
The only reason I was able to talk about all this without them pouncing on me and coming to any conclusion whatsoever was that they were too stunned to even move.
I told them about the sales lady and that this was all her idea. She didn’t have anything else that I could wear and I couldn’t remain in my wet clothes either.
With that said, I glanced at both of them.
What would they say now?
I could only fumble with my fingers while waiting to hear their response.
The first to respond was Seo-Jun, who cackled.
"To think you’d end up in that shop of all places." He said and then squatted down, causing me to flinch. "Must be fate, don’t you think? I’ve always wanted to rip a maid costume off you, so this works out great."
Pervert.
Can you at least pretend that you sympathize with me?
"Jo-Pil, have you been walking around like that?" Ki-hoon suddenly asked, but I quickly shook my head.
"No, not at all. The scarf covered me up well and I went straight into the car after leaving the shop. I couldn’t even try to walk around like this if I wanted to." I’d die of embarrassment if that had happened.
"Jo-Pil," Seo-Jun called and I whisked my eyes towards him. "How about you spend a night at my room tonight?" He asked, licking his lips and the color left my face.
No way in hell.
He’s going to do this and that to me if I go with him.
"No, he won’t," Ki-hoon answered. "Jo-Pil is sleeping with me tonight."
"And who said so?" A dissatisfied Seo-Jun asked, straightening his body to meet Ki-hoon’s gaze toe to toe. "I doubt you guys made prior plans."
Ki-hoon opened his mouth to speak but realized we hadn’t made such plans.
"I was going to say it but by the time I was done with my meeting, Jo-Pil was gone." Ah, right. I didn’t let him know because I didn’t want to disturb his meeting. Didn’t know he’d be upset.
(It’s inevitable that he’d be upset)
"Well, that’s too bad for you. You could’ve sent a text or called. I called dibs first so deal with it."
Wait, why did it feel like they were suddenly bidding on me?
This is quite the messed-up situation.
I never said I’d even go with the first person who asked.
Right now, what I want to do is get a hot bath and wrap myself in my warm blanket. But I don’t think I’d mind if I had someone’s body heat warming me up as well, ahem.
"I won’t give up." Ki-hoon suddenly said, with a serious tone.
He sounded like a hero faced with a crisis that could eradicate the world.
How cute.
"Well, funny, cause I don’t plan to give up either."
Were they going to keep at this?
"But I have an idea. Why don’t we ask Jo-Pil who he wants to spend the night with?" Seo-Jun suddenly asked and I flinched.
Ah, I should’ve seen this coming.
How could he just pass the torch over me to me?
They both stared at me, waiting for me to make my pick when I gulped.
I don’t think I have the capacity to make choices right now.
"Well," I said, crinkling a smile. "Why don’t we go with old traditions? Whoever got most of my smile will be the one I spend the night with."
Yes, if it’s like this, they won’t be able to come to a conclusion.
I doubt either of them was counting this morning.
But just when I thought it had been impossible, both stared at me for a while, as if counting the hair on my eyebrows, and then called their numbers simultaneously.
"15!"
"17!"
I paused.
They were joking... Right?
Ki-hoon and Seo-Jun faced each other in a head-on confrontation, and then a smirk played on Seo-Jun’s lips.
"I guess I win."
He was the one who called out 17.
I don’t even know if they were making up but it sure felt like it. Because if I were to add those two numbers, it’d be that I smiled over 32 times that morning.
How was that even possible?
And how were they able to keep count?
(They didn’t. They just thought back to every single time you smiled at them.)
I groaned.
This was quite a lot. Now I understand how they were always able to send money with the right calculation.
I always thought they were just sending random digits but that hadn’t been the case at all.
"Now, run along. I’ll take care of Jo-Pil today." Seo-Jun said, smirking from ear to ear.
Ki-hoon could do nothing but squeeze his fist.
"It’s just 17." He suddenly said, causing Seo-Jun to wonder what he was on about.
"What? Can’t admit your defeat?" He asked but Ki-hoon ignored him and then turned to me.
"Jo-Pil, why did the chicken join the band?" He asked and I stared at him, confused.
What was he doing right now?
"Hey, what are you doing?" Seo-Jun asked, worried that Ki-hoon was trying to do something right now.
"You have to answer the question, Jo-Pil," Ki-hoon said. "Why did the chicken join the band?"
"Um, I don’t know. Why?"
"Because it already had a drumstick." He said and for a moment, we paused.
This... Pft... What the heck?
I laughed.
What was this all of a sudden? Was he cracking jokes to make me laugh?
This counted as a smile too, I guess.
"Hey, stop that. You’re cheating." Seo-Jun said but Ki-hoon looked at him with plain eyes and said,
"The day isn’t over yet so it’s not cheating." He said. "That’s 16 for me." Then he turned to me again.
I finally managed to calm myself down when he asked,
"Why did the cow decide to be an astronaut?"
"I don’t know, tell me."
"Because it wanted to see the moooon," he said, even mimicking the sound of a cow and I burst out laughing, rolling on the floor as I could not contain myself.
How was he saying such jokes with a straight face?
Someone, help. My stomach is about to burst.
Seo-Jun got mad and grabbed Ki-hoon’s arm.
"Hey, stop that. I don’t like it."
"And why do I have to do something that you like?" He asked and rolled his eyes down at me who was rolling all over the floor. "I only do things that Jo-Pil likes. And at this point..." He narrowed his eyes at Seo-Jun, grinning with mischief. "...we’re even."
