Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 401: Was he avoiding me?
"So, I’m right. You do have feelings for me, doc."
With this, I’ve confirmed that Cha Hyun-woo, the side character who loved me in the last life, has feelings for me now.
Just why did he develop feelings?
I mean, he didn’t watch me suffer and feel pity for me. I don’t see the trigger so why?
Hyun-woo’s grip on my leg suddenly tightened and I hissed.
Realizing what he was doing, he snapped out of it and quickly apologized.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you." He said.
I could tell he was mad at himself while absent-minded, so much so that he hurt me without realizing it.
"How... How did you know?" He asked and I scoffed.
So, he doesn’t plan to deny it any further, huh? Well, that’s good, but I don’t have to explain how I found out.
"What I want to know is why you have feelings for me," I said and watched him grit his teeth in guilt.
Will he talk? Do we even have time to talk about this?
As soon as I thought of this, the door opened and I whispered,
"We’ll talk about this another time."
I turned to look at the door.
Cha Hyun-woo had a troubled expression on his face, as if he didn’t believe I would keep it to myself.
But I didn’t plan to tell anyone either so I don’t have to feel guilty for anything.
"Hyung, we’re back," Min-Cheol said, walking in first and then behind him mess Jie-Yu.
As soon as I saw her and her face that had a bandaid, my heart felt like it had been ripped.
I can’t believe I hit such a pretty face.
"Y-young master," Jie-Yu called and my heart hurt even more. It only goes to show that our relationship has become strained.
"Jie-Yu," I called, watching the sad expression on her face.
It looked like no one had told her anything yet.
"Here’s the footage," Seo-Jun said, bringing his laptop over. He placed it in front of me but instead of looking at the laptop, I was looking at his face.
He still has that sad melancholic look on his face.
"Just what are you thinking about?" The words slipped out of my thoughts before I knew it, and Seo-Jun looked up at me with a surprised expression.
That was when I realized I let it slip.
"Ah," I turned my head away, embarrassed that I let my thoughts slip so casually.
"Honestly," he said, "I don’t know."
He didn’t say anything more concerning that and asked,
"Do you want to watch it now?"
I don’t know if it’s the fact that he wasn’t responding to me as I wished or if it was because he couldn’t maintain eye contact for long but it made me feel uneasy.
Was he avoiding me?
What did I do?
I nodded my head and he played the footage.
I needed to first understand what was going on here before I proceeded with anything else.
The video began from my room. I was asleep for most of the time, but then I woke up, got out of bed, and immediately walked out of my room.
It was strange. My steps were slow but I wasn’t staggering.
If we took a look at my face from another angle, then it would show the lackluster expression and eyes that were open but void.
I walked towards the end of the hallway and then stopped in front of Jie-Yu’s room.
I didn’t remember doing any of this.
"Do you remember walking over there?" Ki-hoon asked but I shook my head.
This was the scary part.
I raised my hand and opened the door, not even knocking when it was clear I was entering a lady’s room. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Due to the fact that there weren’t any security cameras in the guest room, we couldn’t see what was going on, but from the right angle with the camera close to it, we could see a bit of the room past the entrance but we couldn’t see much.
Just legs.
And a voice.
It was Jie-Yu’s voice. Not understanding why I entered her room, and asking if I needed anything, she stepped closer to me.
I glanced at Jie-Yu, who had her head down, and once again guilt ripped at my heart.
Since we couldn’t see everything going on, we were a bit lost on the things that happened, but one thing was for sure: I ended up slapping her.
The shock made her stagger back a few feet, and she couldn’t even ask what was going on since her mind paused for a moment.
And then, I slapped her again, this time, she fell to the floor.
"What... Why are you doing this?" A concerned and scared tone mixed into Jie-Yu’s voice but we watched my step closing in on her while she crawled back, scared.
What the hell did I do?
I shoved my fingers through my hair.
This was beyond normal sleepwalking. I clearly hit her, hurt her, and she...
"Jie-Yu," I called, not even planning to watch the rest of the footage. It’s clear what happened.
And while I don’t know what else I did before Min-Cheol got there, the fact remains.
"Y-yes, young master."
How can I apologize?
How do I apologize?
What do I say to make her feel better and repair the bond we had already begun to make and was already cracking, but by bit?
"I’m sorry. What can I do to make it up to you?" I asked but she did not respond.
Her expression was softened in fear as she stood there with her hands clasped together. She didn’t do anything wrong.
"No words can justify my actions towards you." I continued. "And while I don’t want to make any excuses, I want you to know that the one who hit you wasn’t me. I mean, it was me but I wasn’t sane. I don’t even know if to call it sleep walking but..."
"Young master," she called, interrupting me and then I saw a smile on her face, though sad. "I know that you didn’t do any of that in your right mind." She said. "And... That’s why I worry for you. I don’t know if this is my place to say, but I’ll say it regardless." The sadness in her face was replaced with worry. "It seems like you have endured so much pain and suffering, bottling all of it up and telling yourself it’s okay. And now, that you’ve begun to find real peace, all of it just wants to come out. You can’t bottle up resentment and fear forever. Eventually, you’ll have to face it."
