Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted-Chapter 90: Explore to Yanmang City
Meanwhile, in the real world, Matthias woke up to the sound of his wife screaming his name. Seeing the cold sweat dripping down his wife’s face, he certainly didn’t just sit there. He immediately patted her cheek gently to wake her from the nightmare. This was his first time seeing his wife in a nightmare that broke out in a cold sweat, and he was terrified. Could it be that she was dreaming about the accident that happened two years ago?
"Victoria, wake up! Victoria!" Matthias shouted, patting his wife’s cheek and kissing her lips for a few seconds.
Victoria finally emerged from her nightmare. Her breath hitched as the thought of the accident still haunted her mind. Although vague in her dream, it felt so real when she was hit and her car rolled over until it lost its shape. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Her husband spontaneously hugged her tightly, calming her mind a little. She let out a few tears to ease the tightness in her chest as she thought about the accident.
"Matty... I’m scared."
"I’m here. You don’t have to be afraid anymore. I won’t let you face your fears alone."
"It seems like my memory is slowly coming back. I just dreamed about the traffic accident I had two years ago."
"Don’t think about it anymore. I told you before, you should forget all your past and start over now. I hate seeing you scared like this because your trauma is coming back to haunt you."
"I really want to forget it. But somehow, lately, bits of my past memories have been coming back to me."
Matthias kissed his wife’s forehead for a long time, making her heart pound even harder. "Should I help you erase all your memories so you won’t be afraid anymore?"
Victoria smiled brightly, wrapping her arms around her husband’s broad back. "No need. Sleeping with you now makes me so relieved. Now I understand why I have to sleep with you. If I sleep alone in the guest room again, I’ll definitely cry until morning."
"No. If I heard you scream suddenly, I would have come straight to you."
Matthias broke the hug for a moment, stroking his wife’s head. "I’ll get you a towel."
Victoria nodded as she watched her husband reach for a small towel from the cupboard. She silently praised him for always being so considerate of her. She wondered if she had married Ansel a long time ago, would he have acted the same way as Matthias? She admitted that what made her fall in love with Matthias so easily was that he cared for her like a queen.
Her heart pounded as she watched her husband take the initiative to wipe her sweat-covered face, neck, and hands. She was even more pleased that he had invited her on his business trip, because if she had another nightmare, she wouldn’t have to worry.
"Tory, if you have another nightmare while I’m on a business trip, you don’t have to worry."
Victoria’s eyes widened. "How can you read my mind now?"
"Because as usual, only I can read your mind." Matthias winked his right eye.

Three days later...
They’d just returned from vacation in Guam, and now they were on another business trip. Their schedules outside the office had been incredibly busy lately, though, to Victoria, they were simply going on a date. She was certain her husband’s purpose in taking her on a business trip wasn’t just to survey the project site, but also to ask her out on a date.
This out-of-town trip was long enough. Matthias was reluctant to take his assistant on a business trip, as his intention was to take his wife on a date as well.
Even though her husband asked her out on a date on their first day of business, Victoria didn’t dare protest because she actually wanted to enjoy a sweet moment with her husband before going to work.
"Matthias, if your work is delayed because you want to have fun with me, I will scold you!"
"I’m just asking you to go enjoy the scenery together. Besides, the sky’s a bit cloudy now, so I won’t be taking you out for too long."
"Okay, if you don’t keep your promise, starting tonight we’ll sleep in separate rooms!"
Matthias took his wife for a walk in the flower garden. Although his wife had reprimanded him earlier, she was now enjoying herself gazing at the colorful blooms. To capture the moment, Matthias took out his phone and snapped a photo of his wife smiling sweetly as she inhaled the scent of the flowers.
"You’re so cute. Just look at the photos."
Victoria immediately ran to her husband and stared at the photos, which exceeded her expectations. "You’re also a great photographer. Should I hire you as my personal photographer?"
"Of course I will always be your photographer without you having to ask."
"Now I want us to take a picture together. I don’t want a picture of us just from our vacation in Guam. The scenery here is so beautiful, it feels strange to take a picture here alone."
Matthias pointed the camera at them. He didn’t expect his wife to already be ready with a heart-shaped pose. He did the same as the camera snapped their picture.
Just as they were about to have another date in the park, a sudden downpour of rain hit their heads. Matthias quickly led his wife out of the park.
As they entered the sedan parked in the parking lot, the rain intensified. Matthias turned on the radio to listen to the weather forecast.
"Emergency warning! Heavy rain is expected tonight through tomorrow morning. Residents are advised to remain indoors."
Victoria pursed her lips as she stared out the rain-drenched window. "Looks like we can only have our date inside the hotel."
"More likely, it seems like we can’t work right now because of the bad weather."
The longer the rain fell, the heavier it became, so it could be said that the entire city of Yanmang was now hit by a rainstorm.
