Transmigration: The Main Character is Not Becoming the Cannon Fodder!-Chapter 369 - 13: Sinister Laboratory (Part 13)
Bai Qian didn’t know what to say and was about to leave in a huff when Li Shuqi suddenly sneered, "Uncle Bai, this isn’t right, is it? My father values relationships the most, but some people are different. You know best what you intended before. At first, you claimed financial issues prevented you from delivering the goods, yet you turned around and transported them to the Rong Group and Ding Group, allowing them to offer four or even five times the price. Are you treating us like sheep to be slaughtered?"
"Unfortunately, the Li Group couldn’t come up with so much money and therefore didn’t make the purchase. Luckily, a friend in Frame City, which is near Li Yun City, had some resources. Seeing my predicament, he lent me what I needed, or else the Li Group would’ve been bankrupt. Now, Uncle Bai comes playing the victim first; truly a senior’s move, it seems I still have much to learn."
Bai Qian’s expression changed before he forced a smile and said, "You’re joking, dear nephew. Uncle Bai doesn’t know what you’re talking about. The Bai Group is currently short on funds, and Uncle Bai needs to figure something out. I must take my leave."
Bai Qian left, while Li Shuqi watched coldly. Some people just don’t appreciate kindness.
Li Zhengzhi shook his head and also went to accompany his wife.
Old friends sometimes take the wrong path.
If there were truly difficulties after so many years of friendship, the Li Family would not stand idly by, yet he immediately sought to take a bite out of us. I’m no saint; when someone is poised to strike against me, should I help them?
After Bai Qian left the Li Family, he was sweating.
He hadn’t expected Li Shuqi to know about his secret plans. The Bai Group was already under pressure, and offending the Li Family was out of the question.
Bai Qian hastily left the Li Family, knowing he couldn’t count on them, and sought other methods.
However, when Bai Qian approached some good friends, none could provide support. Only an old friend, in a personal capacity, lent him fifty million.
Bai Qian didn’t decline the offer.
Though fifty million wasn’t much to him usually, in the current situation, it was somewhat useful.
Bai Qian sought help everywhere, yet no true aid materialized, and even the bank was unwilling to lend to him anymore, inexplicably demanding the Bai Group to repay previous loans promptly.
Bai Qian understood that the only person capable of making the bank act that way was likely that person. His chest began to ache faintly at the thought.
Upon returning home, Bai Zihao and others were waiting. Seeing Bai Qian return, they all gathered around.
"Dad, how did it go?"
Bai Qian slapped Bai Zihao across the face: "Unfilial son, if it weren’t for your indiscretions, how would the Bai Group be in this state? You two get out of my sight. You just irritate me."
After Bai Qian finished speaking, he staggered and fainted the next moment.
Chaos erupted among the family.
The family doctor examined him and explained that his collapse was due to anxiety and lack of rest. Considering his age, it was nothing serious.
After waking up, Bai Qian was calmer and instructed Bai Zihao to watch over the company.
But without funds, the stock kept falling, and the Bai Group was teetering on the brink.
As the Bai Group’s stock price fell, numerous partnerships were halted because of this issue. Some contracts were not fulfilled, naturally resulting in penalties for breach of contract.
Bai Qian had no choice but to sell some properties and cars at low prices to patch up some of the gaps.
Aside from the villa they lived in and a relatively ordinary car, the Bai Family had nothing else left to sell.
Soon, the Bai Group changed ownership.
When Bai Qian saw Li Shuqi taking over the Bai Group, he couldn’t believe it.
He even shouted in front of everyone, "Li Shuqi, you’re really something, disregarding the relationship between our families and stabbing me in the back."
Li Shuqi just laughed and said, "How can I compare to Uncle Bai? If Uncle Bai hadn’t planned to take a bite out of us, how would we have retaliated? Your company’s liquidity issues could have been discussed with us. Yet what did you do? You tore up contracts and turned to others, intending to extort multiple times the price from us. Uncle Bai, if you can break the rules, why can’t we?"
Bai Qian and Bai Zihao gloomily gathered their belongings and returned home. Soon after, Bai Qian fell ill.
After all, it was hard to stomach losing one’s life’s work.
With Li Shuqi already at the helm of the Bai Group, he had ways to dilute their shares until they were left with nothing. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Now that Bai Qian was bedridden and incoherent, Bai Zihao decided to sell all their shares at a low price, at least keeping some money in hand.
Hardly warming his hands with the money, creditors who had lent Bai Qian money came calling, along with those with unpaid signed debts.
After repaying, Bai Zihao found himself with only about a million left.
Bai Qian was admitted to an advanced hospital room, costing money every day.
From a once high-standing scion, Bai Zihao struggled to adapt to the fall.
Wang Xiaoduo, during this time, was incredulous at the series of changes, never expecting such a wealthy family to collapse suddenly. But even a skinny camel is bigger than a horse; at least the Bai Family still had money and a big villa, so she remained quiet.
But when Bai Zihao came to his senses, he remembered it was Wang Xiaoduo’s instigation that led to their downfall. The more he thought, the angrier he became, and he turned violent with Wang Xiaoduo at home, pushing her to the ground until she bled.
At the hospital, the situation was urgent, and they administered a labor-inducing injection. Not long after, a pair of twins were born.
But being premature, the twins weren’t doing well and were placed in an incubator for observation.
Bai Zihao’s mother scolded him fiercely, while Bai Zihao, looking through the glass at the two babies, felt no fondness.
He felt a pang; if not for this troublemaker, Wang Xiaoduo, he wouldn’t have entertained such thoughts. Li Xiaoshu must hate him now?
Later, Bai Qian was discharged but required long-term medication, which wasn’t cheap.
The remaining money couldn’t last, as supporting three people was expensive.
The twins were not doing well and remained in the hospital, incurring high expenses daily.
Soon, Bai Qian decided to sell the villa for a condo. As much as they liked the villa, they couldn’t afford it anymore.
After selling the villa, the family moved into a condo, a three-bedroom apartment with two living rooms.
Wang Xiaoduo was discharged from the hospital after seven days, returned home, and started doing chores without completing her postpartum care properly.
With no maids at home, Bai Zihao’s mother, who had been a wealthy wife, couldn’t do housework, leaving it to Wang Xiaoduo.
Having just given birth to twins, Wang Xiaoduo hadn’t adjusted her condition but had to do chores and worry about the kids in the hospital, making her emaciated.
PS: There’s another Chapter; the baby won’t sleep, so I’ll go rock her to sleep. The update might be late.
