Chapter 64: King’s Call

"Then, I’ll go first, Aron."

At the doorway, Sharon smiled while carrying two large bags.

Arthur let out a long sigh and gave a small nod. "Alright, Princess. Be careful on your way. I hope you grow stronger at the Celestial Academy. If anyone dares to mess with you, don’t be afraid—fight back."

"If your opponent is stronger, don’t hesitate to ask Sage Rudolf for help. After all, he’s your teacher, and I’m sure he’ll protect you."

Arthur continued giving Sharon various pieces of advice about what she should and shouldn’t do.

He wasn’t doing it for no reason. Sharon was a timid girl who easily felt insecure.

Although Arthur had been training her to change, it wasn’t something that could happen overnight. It would take constant practice for Sharon to adapt.

Since he couldn’t stay by her side during her time at the academy, all he could do was offer advice and hope she would put it into practice later.

Listening to Arthur’s rambling, Sharon didn’t feel bored or annoyed. Instead, she wore a serious expression, nodding from time to time.

She knew everything Arthur said was for her safety and well-being.

Moreover, because she trusted him so deeply, whatever he said felt absolutely true to her.

Thus, Sharon neither rejected nor questioned his advice. She kept it close to her heart.

After Arthur finally finished, Sharon smiled and lightly patted her growing chest. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Don’t worry, Aron," she said softly yet confidently. "I will remember your words and carry them out. Thank you for your concern."

"Good!" Arthur nodded in satisfaction at her attitude.

The two exchanged goodbyes before Sharon finally departed.

As he watched her leave, the smile on Arthur’s lips slowly faded. He closed the door and walked toward the desk piled high with papers.

Upon closer inspection, the papers contained plans related to the future’s progression.

Arthur picked up one of the papers, glanced over it briefly, then tore it up.

"The plan to get Sharon to accept Rudolf’s request is complete," he muttered casually as he crumpled the paper and tossed it into the trash. "With this, my plan is twenty-five percent complete."

In the original storyline, Sharon’s growth took a long time because she had refused Rudolf’s offer to become his personal student.

Even so, she still received special guidance and far more resources than regular students.

After all, Sharon was the only one to awaken the golden light attribute.

Still, the difference between a sage’s personal student and an ordinary student was like heaven and earth.

Arthur firmly believed that under Rudolf’s direct guidance, Sharon would grow much faster—and that his mission would reach completion even sooner.

Snapping out of his thoughts, he opened his mouth and whispered, "Mission panel."

[Information Panel]

[—Tasks to be Completed—]

1. Increase the affection of the main character (Sharon Valura) to 100 points.

Current affection status: 60/100.

2. Help the main character (Sharon Valura) experience the warmth and care she longs for.

Mission progress: 25%/100%.

3. Assist the main character (Sharon Valura) in rising to become Queen of the Magic Kingdom of Valdom.

Mission progress: Not yet completed.

In an instant, a translucent panel appeared before him. As he read through it, he nodded in satisfaction.

"Although it’s only been two days, my mission’s progress has already improved significantly. This is really good news," he whispered, praising himself.

Over the next six months, his mission panel would show no further progress. That was because he and Sharon would be separated for quite some time.

This was one of the drawbacks of entrusting Sharon’s training to Rudolf.

However, Arthur wasn’t worried. A strong bond should be built slowly, not rushed. Sometimes, separation could even strengthen a newly formed relationship.

Afterward, he began organizing his next steps. The coming year would be a time of peace before a major war broke out between the three kingdoms.

Within six months, the crown prince of the Elarion Kingdom would be assassinated by a killer hired by a minor noble from the Vadoria Kingdom.

The incident would plunge Elarion into chaos and further strain the already fragile relations between the three kingdoms.

King Elarion suspected that the assassination had been orchestrated by one of the enemy kingdoms—either Vadoria or Valdom.

However, he found no evidence to support his suspicions. It wasn’t until four months later that evidence surfaced, revealing that a minor noble from Vadoria had been behind the plot.

In the end, war broke out between Elarion and Vadoria. Naturally, the conflict also dragged the Magic Kingdom of Valdom into the fray.

Unfortunately, around that time, King Nathan fell gravely ill, sparking internal strife among the princes, ministers, queen, and concubines.

Chaos would engulf the continent. Yet behind all the chaos lay a great opportunity—one Arthur had to seize as a stepping stone for Sharon’s future ascent to the throne.

If he succeeded, his most challenging mission—making Sharon ascend as queen—would be completely and perfectly fulfilled.

Just as Arthur was lost in thought, a knock echoed from the door.

*Knock!*

The sound startled him. He quickly gathered his papers and shoved them into the bottom drawer of his desk.

Then, he walked to the door and opened it.

To his surprise, standing before him was none other than the Prime Minister of the Magic Kingdom of Valdom, Rucos!

"Prime Minister Rucos?" Arthur blinked in surprise before bowing his head respectfully. "Welcome, Prime Minister. How may I assist you?"

Though his voice remained calm, anyone paying close attention would notice the confusion and tension behind his demeanor.

He hadn’t expected such a high-ranking guest—Rucos, who stood just below the king in status. Even princes and princesses had to treat him with deference.

Rucos smiled, not in a condescending way, but with a relaxed air, saying, "No need to bow, Aron. Please, get up."

Despite his surprise, Arthur didn’t argue and slowly rose to his feet.

As Rucos’ gaze fell on Arthur’s handsome face, he nodded in approval and said, "You’re quite handsome, Aron. Do you have a partner? If not, perhaps I could match you with my daughter. She’s still single, and it’s starting to worry me."

A regretful sigh escaped his lips, clearly reflecting his genuine concern.

Arthur’s mouth twitched slightly at his words.

What’s going on here? He came all this way just to offer me his daughter’s hand?

Is something wrong with his head?

Shaking off his thoughts, Arthur forced a small smile and replied, "What are you saying, Prime Minister? How could someone like me, a mere servant, be worthy of your daughter?"

Rucos chuckled, his tone carrying a deeper meaning. "I can’t deny that, but to me, status isn’t everything. After all, who’s to say you’re truly just a servant?"

Arthur’s expression tightened at his words.

But before he could respond, Rucos quickly shifted the conversation.

"Alright, I was just joking. Don’t take it too seriously," he said with a faint smile. "I’m here at His Majesty’s request. He wants you to come to his study."
