Transmigration; Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Uncle-Chapter 248;Lu Yuze
"Hehe... They would be surprised..." Shuyin’s soft laugh carried genuine amusement at imagining the Lu family’s faces when they discovered empty examination rooms and discharge paperwork showing Yuyan had already been spirited away, their carefully orchestrated intervention rendered completely meaningless by timing and efficiency.
The helicopter flew away from the hospital vicinity with powerful acceleration, the building and its surrounding complex shrinking rapidly below them until it was just another structure in the urban sprawl, the frustrated family members reduced to invisible dots that couldn’t possibly interfere with their escape.
The rotors beat steadily against the air as they climbed higher and banked toward home, leaving behind the chaos, violence, and unexpected revelations of the past few hours.
The flight passed in relative silence broken only by the mechanical sounds of the aircraft and Chen Xiao’s soft breathing where he dozed against Shuyin’s shoulder, his small body completely relaxed in sleep now that the stress and worry had finally caught up with him.
Yuyan remained unconscious against Lu Yuze’s chest, her face peaceful and unmarked by the trauma she’d experienced, the sedatives keeping her mercifully unaware of everything that had transpired in that hospital room.
Soon Lu Yuze’s private estate came into view, the sprawling property he’d purchased years ago as his personal residence separate from the main Lu family compound, creating distance and independence from the political machinations and constant surveillance that characterized life under his parents’ roof.
The grounds were extensive and beautifully maintained, the kind of property that represented both wealth and a deliberate choice to establish his own territory, free from family interference.
The helicopter descended toward the private helipad smoothly, the pilot executing a textbook landing that barely jostled the passengers as the skids touched down on marked concrete.
They alighted carefully once the rotors had slowed to safe speeds, Lu Yuze climbing out first with Yuyan still cradled securely in his arms before turning to offer Shuyin his free hand to help her navigate the awkward step down while she carried Chen Xiao.
The late descending sun was warm against their skin after the climate-controlled helicopter interior, casting long shadows across the grounds as they walked toward the main house.
From this side of the property, Shuyin could see the mausoleum Yuyan had mentioned during one of their earlier conversations, the structure that housed the remains of Lu Yuze’s deceased wife. It was built in traditional style with elegant lines and careful architectural detail, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens that clearly received constant attention.
The late afternoon light hit the white stone and made it glow softly, lending the structure an ethereal quality that managed to be both beautiful and slightly melancholic simultaneously, a permanent memorial to the woman who’d died giving birth to Yuyan.
It actually did look beautiful, Shuyin admitted silently, understanding why Yuyan had felt drawn to visit despite the painful associations it must carry. There was something peaceful about it, something that suggested the woman resting there was honored and remembered with genuine love rather than simply commemorated out of obligation.
They continued toward the mansion’s main entrance, their footsteps crunching softly on the gravel path that wound through carefully sculpted gardens.
The massive front doors opened before they reached them, the household staff clearly having been alerted to their arrival and prepared to receive them with appropriate efficiency.
The maids and butler greeted them with professional courtesy that managed to convey both respect and genuine concern; their expressions were carefully neutral, even though they must have noticed the unconscious children being carried inside and undoubtedly had questions about what exactly had transpired.
The head butler, an older man whose dignified bearing suggested decades of loyal service, stepped forward with a slight bow.
"Welcome home, sir, madam," he said in that perfectly modulated voice that carried just enough warmth to sound human without being inappropriately familiar. "We’ve prepared accommodations as requested. Young Master Chen Xiao’s belongings have been moved to Miss Yuyan’s room as instructed, we added an additional bed on the empty side of her bedroom and arranged all his clothing and personal items there so everything would be ready when you arrived."
One of the younger maids added helpfully, "We also unpacked all the shopping bags from earlier and organized everything in the appropriate wardrobes and drawers. Both children’s clothing has been sorted and put away properly."
"Thank you," Lu Yuze said with genuine appreciation for their efficiency and discretion. "That will be all for now. We’ll handle settling the children ourselves. Please ensure we’re not disturbed for the rest of the evening unless it’s urgent."
The staff bowed their acknowledgment and dispersed with practiced coordination, disappearing back into whatever areas of the house their duties required while giving the family privacy to handle what was clearly a delicate situation. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
They took the stairs to the second floor where the bedrooms were situated, their footsteps muffled by expensive carpet. The house’s interior was elegantly appointed without being ostentatious, decorated with the kind of restrained luxury that suggested personal taste rather than hired decorators, everything carefully chosen to create a home rather than just a showcase of wealth.
Yuyan’s bedroom was located down the hall from the master suite, the door already standing open to reveal the changes the staff had implemented.
The room was large and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the gardens, decorated in soft colors that managed to be feminine without being childishly girly.
The original bed remained against one wall with its elegant headboard and expensive linens, while a second bed had been positioned on the opposite side of the room with equal care, creating a balanced arrangement that gave each child their own space while keeping them close enough to provide comfort and companionship.
Chen Xiao’s belongings were neatly arranged on shelves and in the wardrobe near his new bed, his clothing hung with the same careful attention as Yuyan’s, his few toys and books positioned where he could easily reach them. The staff had even thought to add a small nightlight near his bed, the kind that would provide gentle illumination without being bright enough to disturb sleep.
