Chapter 144: Chapter 144; Night out (j)

Her gaze landed on another table. A group clearly out for the first time, their nervous energy palpable even from a distance. A young woman sat with a man and his friends, all of them laughing too loudly, drinking too fast, trying to convince themselves they belonged in a place like this.

Shuyin slid into the chair beside the woman with exaggerated seductiveness, draping herself across the armrest like a cat claiming territory.

"Oooh, beautiful lady..." She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "This man won’t marry you. He’s an heir and already has a fiancée. Don’t be fooled..." She reached up, caressing the woman’s hair gently, the touch almost motherly despite the alcohol on her breath. "And these friends of his? They all know it. He’s playing with you. Tread carefully..."

The woman’s face drained of color. She turned slowly to look at the man beside her, who was suddenly very interested in the bottom of his glass.

Shuyin stood up, satisfied with the chaos she’d planted, and spun around to survey the room with unfocused eyes.

"Haiya! You’re married and you’re here with a mistress?"

She pointed across the space at a man three tables over who went completely white, his hand frozen halfway to his drink.

"Who do you think is worse, the mistress or the man who’s cheating?"

She turned, stumbling slightly. "You! Come over here!"

She’d spotted one of Lu Yuze’s men, the guards he’d obviously stationed throughout the club to keep her safe. The bodyguard emerged from his position and approached cautiously, clearly unsure what was about to be required of him.

"I want you to call his wife," Shuyin declared, pointing at the married man. "And the other one... that one... woohoo, so many of you!"

She started pointing randomly, though her mermaid senses could actually identify which men were cheating just by reading the guilt radiating from their minds like heat signatures.

Before the guards could even reach them, men began jumping up from their seats, rushing toward the exits with panicked speed. Even those Shuyin hadn’t pointed at yet scrambled to leave, not willing to risk being called out next.

"Haha... haha... cheater!"

"Cheater!"

The chant began to spread through the clubhouse like wildfire. Women were laughing, pointing, and some even positioning themselves near the exits to block the men from leaving. It turned out most of the men in the club that night were accompanied by mistresses, and the situation devolved into beautiful, righteous chaos.

Those who tried to leave without paying their bills were stopped at the door by security.

"We didn’t tell you to mess around," the head bouncer said, barely suppressing his amusement, "but you still have to clear your bill."

The scene was absolute chaos, but several people had been filming. Videos started appearing on social media immediately, clips of Shuyin calling out cheaters, of men scrambling to escape, of women cheering and blocking exits like righteous warriors.

Within the hour, #ShuyinCallsOutCheaters was trending.

# ClubExodusJustice followed shortly after.

The publicity was instant and overwhelmingly positive. By the next morning, Club Exodus would have a line around the block, women wanting to be part of the next "cheater calling" event, men either staying away or being dragged by wives who wanted to test their loyalty.

Shuyin, completely oblivious to the social media storm she’d just created, was already moving on to her next target.

"Now," she announced to no one in particular, "where are those beautiful models I saw earlier?"

Blade, Razor, and Tank watched from their booth with expressions ranging from amusement to genuine concern.

"Should we stop her?" Razor asked, though her tone suggested she already knew the answer. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"Stop her from what?" Blade countered. "From being amazing?"

"From getting us all arrested," Tank said dryly, taking a measured sip of his drink.

"Ting Fei’s here," Razor pointed out, nodding toward where the driver was shadowing Shuyin’s movements with professional vigilance. "And half of Lu Yuze’s security team, apparently. She’s probably the safest drunk person in the city right now."

"Fair point," Tank conceded. "But she’s also probably going to wake up tomorrow with no memory of any of this."

"Then we’ll just have to show her the videos," Blade said with a grin, already pulling out her phone to start recording. "How can she deny it?"

The music shifted, the bass dropping low, the lights softening into something slow and sinfully warm.

Shuyin’s lips curled into a predatory smile.

"Oh, this is perfect," she murmured, scanning the room like a queen choosing who deserved to breathe her air.

Her gaze landed on a man near the VIP ropes, tall, broad-shouldered, built like he’d been sculpted by a gym membership he worshiped more than his ancestors. He stood with stiff confidence, the type who knew he was being watched and hoped someone would validate his entire existence.

She moved toward him with smooth, predatory grace that turned heads without effort.

"Excuse me," she said sweetly, slicing straight through his conversation like it didn’t matter. Because it didn’t.

She touched his bicep, fingers grazing the firm muscle beneath his fitted shirt.

"These are truly impressive," she mused. "Gym... or natural intimidation factor?"

He blinked, startled. Somewhere behind her, she heard one of her girls choke on laughter.

"I... I go to the gym," he managed, puffing up slightly.

"I can tell." She squeezed experimentally, judging like she was appraising fruit at a market. "Two-twenty bench? Two-thirty?"

"Two-fifty," he said, pride inflating visibly.

"Mmm." Her lashes lifted slowly. "And here I thought muscles were for aesthetics. Tell me... do you actually use them? Or are they just expensive decorations?"

Tank was practically wheezing behind her.

The man stammered, "Of course I can..."

"Prove it." Shuyin stepped closer, jade eyes glittering with challenge. "Pick me up."

"What?"

"You heard me." Her smirk was blade-sharp. "Pick me up. Now."

Phones materialized. His friends whispered like they were watching a game show.

He hesitated for a second, and then wrapped his hands around her waist and lifted her off the ground.
