Transmigrated to Another World and Doted on by Everyone!-Chapter 175: Cracks in the Dormitory
"Okay."
Although Ding Yixin said that he would give Rong Xingyu the evidence he wanted, by the time Rong Xingyu returned to school and two days had passed, he still could not guess what kind of "evidence" it would be.
Even though all the dormitories had already been connected to heating after winter began, the temperature in Rong Xingyu’s dormitory seemed to have dropped below freezing.
Outside, Pan Yinhu was still that gentle, polite, diligent, and studious exemplary top student.
But once he returned to the dormitory, Pan Yinhu seemed like a completely different person.
Pan Yinhu no longer spoke a single word to Rong Xingyu and the others.
However, the looks he occasionally cast toward Rong Xingyu and Ye Shiyuan were lofty and condescending, like someone who was about to reach his own goal, standing just one step away from the summit, looking down with disdain at those still wandering at the foot of the mountain.
The atmosphere in the dormitory grew increasingly oppressive, to the point that even Lan Yan noticed it.
With both hands stuffed into his pockets, he lifted his foot and kicked Rong Xingyu’s chair.
Rong Xingyu turned his head and saw Lan Yan standing behind him with a cold face, looking thoroughly impatient.
Rong Xingyu: "???"
"Is something up?" Rong Xingyu took off his Bluetooth earbud and asked in confusion.
"You and that Pan Yinhu," Lan Yan coughed lightly, then frowned as if he could no longer tolerate it, "what exactly has been going on between you two these past few days?"
"Huh?" Rong Xingyu blinked.
He thought about it for a moment, then explained to Lan Yan, "Probably went through something, and finally saw what kind of person he really is."
Lan Yan clicked his tongue irritably. "Stop beating around the bush. Isn’t it just about who plagiarized whose work?"
Rong Xingyu: "..."
Rong Xingyu rubbed the tip of his nose and let out an awkward dry laugh. "Y-You already know? No, wait, how did you know?"
"Pan Yinhu told me," Lan Yan leaned back against his own desk. "He said you plagiarized his final assignment and then turned around and bit him back."
Rong Xingyu: "???" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Hearing Lan Yan’s words, Rong Xingyu almost felt a string of black question marks pop up over his head.
He couldn’t help pointing at himself, his volume unconsciously rising from shock. "He said me? He told you that I plagiarized him?!"
"This is really the thief crying thief! Total nonsense, twisting right and wrong! And—and..."
Rong Xingyu hadn’t expected Pan Yinhu to continue spreading rumors and smearing him behind his back.
A surge of anger shot straight to his head, so intense that he got stuck halfway through his sentence, only able to keep repeating, "And—and—"
"Shameless," Lan Yan said quietly from the side.
"Exactly! Shameless!"
Rong Xingyu echoed Lan Yan’s curse before suddenly pausing.
He looked at Lan Yan, as if he didn’t quite understand what Lan Yan meant.
"You didn’t believe him?"
Lan Yan snorted. He didn’t say anything further, but it was obvious that he wasn’t buying Pan Yinhu’s attempt at sowing discord.
"Thanks, Lan Yan," Rong Xingyu said. Being trusted by another roommate still made him feel somewhat moved.
Being looked at like that by Rong Xingyu, Lan Yan coughed again.
"Don’t get the wrong idea. I just think he’s more annoying than you."
Rong Xingyu: "..."
O-Okay.
"Do you need help?" Lan Yan turned his face away.
It took Rong Xingyu a moment to realize that he was actually talking to him.
Rong Xingyu couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
"My boyfriend will help me, but still, thanks!" he said.
Hearing this, Lan Yan’s face seemed to instantly darken, looking even more sour than before.
"Whatever."
He coldly tossed out that last word, then picked up his phone from the desk and turned to leave.
Rong Xingyu looked at Lan Yan’s cool, aloof back.
"?"
...
Rong Xingyu had originally thought that the atmosphere in the dormitory would continue to remain deadlocked like this, but he did not expect that just a few days later, it would be Pan Yinhu who took the initiative to break the stalemate.
When Pan Yinhu pushed the door open, Rong Xingyu was the only one sitting in the dormitory.
The force with which Pan Yinhu pushed the door was so great that the dorm door slammed into the wall with a loud bang.
Rong Xingyu suddenly lifted his head and looked toward the doorway.
He saw Pan Yinhu, not even bothering to close the door, his eyes red as he strode angrily toward Rong Xingyu.
Seeing Pan Yinhu clench his fist and swing it straight toward Rong Xingyu’s face, Rong Xingyu’s eyes flashed with a trace of cold light.
He did not dodge to the side.
Instead, he brought his fingers together and used the side of his palm to block Pan Yinhu’s wrist.
Using a precise application of force, he knocked Pan Yinhu’s fist away in one motion.
Pan Yinhu let out a scream of pain, he bending over and clutching his wrist tightly with his other hand.
Pan Yinhu even had the premonition that if Rong Xingyu had used just a bit more force, his wrist would have been ruined.
He twisted his head and glared hatefully at Rong Xingyu, his gaze as if he wanted to tear a chunk of flesh off Rong Xingyu’s body.
Looking at the person in front of him who was almost losing all rationality, Rong Xingyu found it truly difficult to associate him with the Pan Yinhu from just two weeks ago, the one who would gently remind him to wake up early the next day and remember to set his alarm.
"What’s wrong with you now?" Rong Xingyu frowned, his gaze icy.
A trace of madness appeared on Pan Yinhu’s face, making him look eerily similar to a gambler who had lost everything at the table.
"You’re asking me what’s wrong?" Pan Yinhu, who had been clutching his wrist and retreating slightly, stepped forward toward Rong Xingyu again. "Rong Xingyu, you still have the nerve to ask me what’s wrong?!"
