Transmigrated To A Beastworld As The Lazy Wife Of The Fox Lord-Chapter 58: Honey Thunder was not impressed.
After taking a quick shower, Sienna walked out and joined everyone at the table, under the shade that covered the outdoor eating area. To her horror, her mother-in-law was at the table, making merry with the king.
They were watching footage of the Rocland’s devouring bread and porridge like starved wolves. King Leon had sent one of his guards over to watch and record them from the shadows.
"Look at them! They eat like my generals after a failed campaign." He laughed.
Sienna shot him a glare as she marched over, fury burning in her bones. "This is very unethical." She wanted to say disgusting, but calling the beast king disgusting was not safe, probably. "They haven’t eaten in two days. Try compassion instead of comedy."
King Leon snorted. He looked at Elias, who was making his way out of the kitchen with a platter of home made cheese burgers the cooks had prepared. "Did you teach your human wife to talk back to me like this, Elias?"
Elias placed the platter down. "Don’t visit us randomly if you don’t want to hear the truth. I already told you to stop watching the Rocland’s. They are not entertainment. I am appalled that my own mother is commenting and chuckling."
Lady Cadelaria pretended to find something more interesting in the sky.
The king snorted but ceased his actions, even ordering his men to tell the guard he had sent to return.
The queen, ever graceful and not a party to her husband’s antics, sat at the table, sipping tea gracefully. "Sienna, come, sit down next to me and tell me how you tamed the queen bee."
Sienna shrugged. "I bribed her with compliments and promises of sweeter nectar here than she had ever tasted. Or, maybe it was Elias’s intoxicating scent that pleased her."
King Leon roared with laughter.
Ali climbed into Sienna’s lap, settling herself there like it was where she belonged. Eli folded his arms and looked at his grandmother, loudly aggrieved.
Lady Cadelaria sighed. She glared at Sienna and gestured for Ali to get down so that Eli could take her place. Ali refused.
"Mama, feed me." The little one rubbed her head against Sienna’s chest, requesting coquettishly.
"I will feed you sweetheart." The queen cooed, a big toothy smile on her face.
Her behavior got Sienna wondering why the royal couple did not have lion cubs. They had been married for so long. What were they waiting for?
Mrs. Miller and Shalin brought cups cups of hot coffee, milk and a jug of lemonade. Servants loitered around nervously, fetching fruits and other edibles for the royal couple.
Breakfast soon became a circus. The king was trying to teach the children how to roar like lions, never mind that they were not lion cubs! Lady Cadelaria was encouraging Eli a little too much, going out of her way to see to it that the little fox impressed the king.
But the children were yipping, squeaking and coughing. It was funny. Queen Serenya attempted to maintain her dignity, but even she could not hide her amusement when Eli farted mid roar!
The little boy, embarrassed beyond words, ran away from the table in tears. Sienna was laughing so hard that tears shimmered in her eyes.
Ali was also in stitches.
Lady Cadelaria chased after her grandson, "It’s okay Eli, everyone does it. Your father did it too when he was your age."
Elias suddenly looked ready to commit murder. King Leon was very pleased, evidence or none, this was gospel truth to him. He finally had some dirt on the fox lord.
Sienna wiped tears from her eyes, using Elias’s cloak, still laughing. "Oh, this is the best breakfast ever."
The queen was not too sure about that. None the less, she was amused enough to chuckle.
At precisely 8:01 a.m., Honey Thunder emerged from her tree house. She buzzed over regally, wings shimmering, antennae twitching. Everyone froze.
Only the royal guards did not freeze, and they reached for their weapons instead.
"Shoot my bee and I will end you." Sienna threatened.
"How could we shoot her?" Queen Serenya gasped. "She is magnificent. Look at those strong legs, and the gold in her wings. My goodness! You were right Sienna, she must have a beauty regiment and I want every detail."
King Leon shuddered when he saw the size of the queen bee’s stinger. "She definitely looks like she could sting me into next week. I demand that ride now. Prepare the drone cameras, my magnificence must be captured."
Honey Thunder ignored them all, heading straight for the nectarine-honey jar Sienna had prepared. She dipped her proboscis delicately, sucked everything, looked at Sienna and flew away.
"No..no..no," King Leon roared, "Come back here you insect. How dare you defy me? I order you to lay down and let me climb on your back."
Honey Thunder flew further away.
The king slashed the table. "I don’t even like you. I think you are ugly, you stupid bee."
Elias winced.
Queen Serenya groaned. "Leon, honey, you need to calm down. There is no need to be so nasty about it."
The king responded by kicking a pastry into the air and then sitting down, with his arms crossed. His cheeks were puffed like a toddler in the midst of a tantrum.
Sienna was beyond shocked. Wasn’t the lion king supposed to be the most fierce, glorious, beast man on the continent? Why did the descriptions of him in educational books, articles and other media not match what she had seen so far?
Also, her poor table and the rest of the breakfast which they had not finished. It was all on the ground now. Such a waste!
This made Elias giggle. "Well, if you try to use my mother’s ridiculous claim against me, I will share this on BeastNet."
The king roared at Elias. The queen rose. "Time to go," she declared. She smiled at Sienna, "You have been a great host, Leon and I will be visiting again for sure. I will send you a new table to replace the one we have ruined. In return, send me some jars of honey. I find the taste interesting."
Sienna nodded. In the back of her mind, she thought, please don’t visit again.
The royals left, and Honey Thunder returned, going straight to her house. The compound was a mess of crumbs, laughter and lingering awkwardness. But Lady Cadelaria was not laughing, she looked ready to devour Sienna right where she was standing.
