The base leader and Uncle Jeremy talked for a bit more as Uncle Jeremy went over more procedures and said that after most of the bases southward had their communication lines ready, then they’ll call again.

After the call, they gave the leader another phone with another number that was registered as an extra in case the first phone was destroyed or missing.

And then, the base leader also asked them if they could teach some people of the base about the proper frequency and how to set up internal communication in the base, so that if they have more resources later, they could also set it up.

Of course, Treyton agreed to it, because Samuel and Aldo also needed to teach them how to repair some of the things in the cell tower in case it malfunctioned because of some things.

So, they still had to stay in the base for the rest of the day and continue traveling the next day.

"We can go around the base, right?" Luciel asked while looking at the leader.

"Of course. You’re working hard to reestablish communication and we couldn’t really offer much as thanks, so you can roam anywhere you want," the leader said with a smile.

"That’s good. I want to go and walk around for a bit," Luciel said as he stood up. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"I will guide you around," the man they had met at the gate immediately offered.

"Okay, that’s good too," Luciel said and started walking out. He knew that Treyton and the others would probably still talk to the leader of the base, so he walked out.

"Do you have any specific place you wanted to visit? I think our place is just like other places and doesn’t have anything worth visiting at all," the man said honestly.

"I don’t care. I don’t have any place I really want to visit; I just want to walk around. By the way, how’s the condition of this base? It’s not that chaotic, right?"

"There are thieves and other things, but it’s not too chaotic as there are still punishments for killing people and severely injuring people. Of course, it’s only when we manage to catch them, but at least it’s still livable and better than staying outside."

"I see. Then, wait a bit; I’ll bring out the kids so that they can also look around."

"Kids? You brought out kids together with you guys?" the man asked in surprise.

They stopped at their RVs and he called the kids out, "Ashlee, Sophie, Lisa, Theo, and Nash—you guys can come with me for a walk."

"Yay! We can go out!" Sophie said happily and immediately got out of the RV.

"Boss Luciel, you’re taking them out? I and Nichole can go with you guys," Myla said.

"Okay, you guys can take care of them." He immediately agreed because he planned to ask them if they hadn’t volunteered.

There are five kids with them and he doesn’t want to be a full-time bodyguard for them, so he had already planned to ask someone to accompany them.

"Big brother Luciel, can we also go?" Astrid asked from another RV.

"You guys can also come if you want."

The older kids could already protect themselves well, so they could also go out with them.

Of course, if they wanted, they could also go in a separate group as long as they brought at least just one adult to watch over them in case something really happened.
