Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 214: The Gala [ 1 ]
"..."
"Sure. I’d be honored to teach someone as holy and mighty as the imperial princess herself."
At my bow, Isabelle narrowed her eyes.
"Y-You... I told you to not call me that."
I let out a chuckle and then turned over to the others.
Kevin seemed like he finally decided to chug my potion down. As expected, with every passing second, the scars that had made him look like a walking tumor had begun to vanish.
The process was slow, but it was clearly working. In just a few minutes, it seemed like he managed to completely digest the potion.
And although a few scars were left, he seemed half decent now. Definitely enough to catch Melina’s gaze.
...Well, maybe?
In the game, the only time Kevin caught Melina’s gaze was when he killed Isabelle.
Since I won’t let that happen in this route, I wasn’t sure how their relationship’s going to go.
Anyhow...
"You look beautiful," I said, standing in front of Clementine.
A faint smirk appeared on her face.
"Why, thank you. You don’t look half bad yourself."
Mmm?
"Is the Siren Queen too arrogant to give compliments to her boyfriend?"
She raised a brow.
"Naturally, the Siren Queen’s praise is hard to come by. But if you must, you look quite splendid today."
"Pretty sure all that singing melted her brain," Melina chimed in as she continued to brush Clementine’s hair.
Clementine didn’t budge an inch, and instead, continued humming to herself.
And after just a few more minutes, she stood up and took out a mirror. Her front was covered in bangs that went over her eyes, whereas the back and sides were curly. She looked very beautiful.
It wasn’t hard to make her hair curly, since her hair was naturally curly. If anything, making the bangs straight was the hard part.
Anyhow, I wasn’t much of a hair expert. I only knew that it looked nice.
Therefore...
"Are we all ready?"
"Mhm."
The others nodded as well.
"Good. In that case, I’ll fly us over to the city. From there, we’ll walk to the gala. I’m pretty sure Alicia’s going to be waiting for us, or maybe she’s already..."
I let out a chuckle.
"Don’t drink any alcohol in the gala, trust me."
"I’ll drink what I want, jackass," Melina said.
I raised my brow at her.
"You can drink it as much as you like. Just don’t forget to share some with Kevin. He’s a fan of alcohol."
"No I’m no—"
Sealing his mouth shut with my Telekinesis, I covered them all with my energy and blasted us toward Aldraazan. We crossed the large distance in just a few seconds, and before long, we stood in front of the city’s entrance.
There weren’t as many guards as usual, since most of them likely went over to guard the gala.
It was basically the perfect time for thieves and assassins to enter Aldraazan.
But that was only how it appeared on the outside.
In truth, there were energy crystals scattered all throughout the entrance. There was a weird gimmick that one of the palace mages could do, and that was, infusing the energy crystals with intent.
Rather, reverse intent.
If someone enters the city, and their intent is to harm someone, the palace mage would get alerted, the person would be tracked, and the soldiers would eventually deal with them.
Since neither of us had ill intent, we naturally passed through this barrier, and after a few more minutes of walking, we arrived in the center of the city.
The gala was just up ahead, and clearly, judging by how many people were already walking toward it, this was a much bigger deal than I had thought.
It was such a big deal, that I even spotted commoners wearing some gem broaches. There were even a few who wore golden rings to seem more important.
In a way, most of the commoners here would try their luck at getting a rich husband or wife. That was pretty much all that the regular folk in this era wanted.
Thankfully, we didn’t really get much attention either. After all, to outsiders, we just looked like an ordinary couple, being accompanied by a few academy students who were all very important.
If anything, all the attention was directed straight at Isabelle, since she was the imperial princess and all.
Still, as the five of us climbed the stairs leading up to the gala, Clementine did something unexpected.
She jumped and landed atop my shoulders. After grabbing my hair and stabilizing herself, she rested comfortably. And as for the cherry on top, she leaned forward slightly, playfully resting her breasts on my head.
Only then did I realize that she was not wearing a bra.
Was she serious?
We’re going to a special event, and yet she’s making me this excited...
Honestly?
If Duke Reyan’s wife also did this while on his shoulders, I can kind of see why he goes around hitting commoners. What other way was there to release stress, after all?
...Obviously, I didn’t really feel that way, but at least these pants are tight and I’m wearing a coat, so no one will see my bulge.
Aside from that, when we reached the top of the staircase, we were met with a few guards that were standing by, inspecting every single person that was trying to enter.
The commoners receive pat downs, while the nobles were let on through.
When it was our turn, the treatment was basically the same.
"Duke Reyan, Duchess Reyan. Welcome to the grand gala of Aldraazan. As for the students behind you, are they your escorts?"
Clementine nodded in my stead and said:
"They are our escorts, yes. They’ll be protecting us during our stay in the gala, and naturally, I don’t want you to cause any trouble for them either."
The guard bowed.
"Of course. Esteemed guests such as yourselves won’t be troubled. Please enter."
Clementine ruffled my hair, and with that, we approached the giant palace ahead and finally entered the gala.
