Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 145: Sword Training [ 4 ]
Hearing that, I just stared at her, not saying a word.
I had a feeling this might happen.
Honestly, any smart and powerful person would find someone like us, a man who has demon horns and a literal Soul manipulator, suspicious.
After all, I bet the whole Pandora Mountain Range was infested with Holy Knights and the rest of the Holy Order.
As silly as it was, I didn’t feel that alarmed, nor did I feel like she would do anything drastic just because she knew who I was.
So with that in mind, I met her gaze head-on and spoke.
"I am Amon Everness. The girl with me is Clementine Noir, the Siren Queen. We’re a couple, and because of some circumstances that happened on the Elodrenia continent, we had to disappear."
"Amon Everness? I remember you. You were all over the newspapers after what you did on that continent. Taking the lives of so many people and disappearing... You’re a coward."
I ruffled my hair.
"It’s not me who dropped that meteorite. Also, it’s very bold of you to call me a coward without knowing the full story."
She crossed her arms and stared at me for a bit, as if she was evaluating me all over again.
I didn’t mind it, allowing her to do her own thing as I saw her expression change constantly until seemingly coming to a decision and nodding at me.
"I’ll need to talk to a lot of people, but I can most likely clear your name. It might take a while, but it’s not like I’m doing anything interesting lately."
"So you just want me to not be the target of the whole world so you could give me pointers without ruining your reputation? I’m a little flattered."
Aliyah narrowed her eyes.
"You’re not my disciple yet. I won’t be teaching you anything conventionally either, so don’t expect your strength to go up just because I’m beside you."
That’s fair.
But any lesson from Aliyah, The Sword Saint, was a valuable lesson, no matter how stupid it may be.
We rambled on for a few minutes about how she could clear my name, which then later spiraled into what she had been doing in the few days she had been gone.
Apparently, she felt the presence of several demons in the Pandora Mountain Range and went on to kill them, trace the rest of them down, and kill them too.
Judging by how casual she was being... It looked like demons appearing in this place wasn’t that uncommon.
Still, right as it seemed like our discussion was coming to a close, I was reminded of something.
It was another issue I hoped to address before it eventually came back to bite both me and Clementine in the ass.
"I’m going to tell you one more thing, but promise me you’ll hear me out first."
"Sure."
"..."
"We are also Mikael and Evangeline."
The moment I said those words, a fierce killing intent washed over me, making me feel as though someone was gripping my heart.
Beads of sweat poured down from my forehead, and even if I wanted to, I felt like I couldn’t grasp my energy and use it.
It was like an apex predator was staring at me.
One wrong move, and I felt like she would cut off my head with the sandwich she was holding.
"Continue."
Ugh...
Blood dripped from my nose, but even so, I powered through it and continued:
"We... We had a mission from the Assassin’s Guild to find a Demon Marquess in the Harper Citadel, and..."
I began painting the full picture for her, obviously excluding a few details like my Mystic Eyes usage, my Wrath Transformation, and the deaths of Vermillions and several other people.
Though in the end, I painted a very clear picture of what happened, leading up to the final explosion where I took Clementine and ran away.
"...You expect me to believe all of that?" Aliyah deadpanned with a sour expression.
"An Angel who can stab a feather into someone and turn them into a demon? A crystal that can enhance demons and even turn regular people into demons? And those horns are because you absorbed Demonic Energy? Amon..."
"I swear on my name as the Siren Queen that he’s not lying," Clementine chimed in from above.
Then she jumped down, landing beside me and glaring at Aliyah.
"As unbelievable as it sounds, it’s the truth. We were set up, and Kai’s the one who orchestrated this whole massacre."
"..."
"Does anyone else know that you two are both Mikael and Evangeline as well as Amon and Clementine?"
Sadly.
"Kai and probably Vincent. Aside from that, there’s also a pirate who knows about me, but she’s not a problem."
A dwarf too...
Aliyah lowered her head with a conflicted look.
It was obvious we put her in a tough position.
A really tough position.
And so, for the next 10 minutes, all of us stood in silence as Aliyah gathered her thoughts, until finally, she turned around and straightened her back.
"I’m going to visit an old friend to verify everything you’ve just told me. Hold down the fort for a week. After I’m back, the three of us are going to have a very serious chat."
Before either of us could reply, Aliyah blasted off the ground to the very top of the valley, then kicked off again, leaving our sight entirely.
I immediately sat down as a huge wave of relief washed over me.
Honestly...
This went a lot better than I thought.
A lot better.
I thought she’d ask a bunch of questions.
And yet, there weren’t any actual questions, only repeated what I said.
It was suspicious.
And it was suspiciously smooth.
Clementine sat down beside me and rested her head on my right shoulder.
"Do you think we’d be able to get her on our side?"
I paused for a moment.
"I honestly hope so."
...All we’d need to do is prevent her death.
In less than a year, she would stumble across one of the main gateways to the Demon Realm, and without telling anyone, she would go inside and start wiping out the demons.
It was a really important event, and yet, all we players got at the time was a cinematic of Aliyah battling against 5 Demon Kings, and killing 3 of them before succumbing to her injuries.
Could I make her trust people enough to not make such rash decisions by herself?
Or maybe... I could make her strong enough to actually kill all the demons.
...I’m getting way ahead of myself.
"I’m guessing she went to visit Braum. He’s like the Great Sage of the 12 Calamities."
"Well, I hope everything goes well," Clementine said warmly.
The two of us just sat there, sharing in each other’s embrace for the next couple minutes.
Then, we separated.
She went back into the cave to enhance her Soul Weapons, and I planned on getting better at this sword stuff.
Both of us were clingy.
Really~ clingy.
Yet once it came down to getting stronger, we took it very seriously and focused on our own things.
Though that’s only one of the many reasons why I love her.
Smiling to myself, I glanced at one of the boulders and cleared my throat.
"Eric, you can come out now."
Like the silly little idiot that he was, he peeked his head from behind the boulder, then approached me.
It only took him a moment to regain his confidence as he puffed out his chest and pointed his wooden sword at me.
"Are you ready to continue your sword training, junior?"
He called me junior again...
You know what?
Since I’m in a good mood, I’ll humor him.
"So, master Eric, what will you teach me today?"
His eyes widened, and it looked like I just inflated his ego a thousandfold.
"Humph."
"Big sis called it Sword Heart, and since you’re my junior, I’ll teach it to you!"
