Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Stir-Fried Bamboo Shoots with Pork

"If you have the guts, come forward. Breaking your legs will be your own doing." Yi Roujing twirled the bamboo stick in her hand with a strong and swift motion, the sound of the wind whistling past her ears.

"Big sister-in-law is so powerful?" Xia Xingchen asked Ding Anmin in a low voice, dumbfounded. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Stunned like a wooden chicken, Ding Anmin’s expression was perfect for the moment, "I, I don’t know."

"Yun, why didn’t you say this woman knows martial arts?" one person retreated, realizing what Yi Roujing did was not something an ordinary person could do.

"Oh, who sent you?" Yi Roujing fearlessly approached with the bamboo stick, "Tell me now to avoid unnecessary suffering."

Li YunGen stepped back a few paces and also broke a bamboo stick, eyes filled with malice, "Everyone, grab your weapons, the four of us can take her down, surely this woman can’t scare us."

The three others sprang into action. Yi Roujing struck first, swinging a stick at Li YunGen swiftly and accurately, hitting his right wrist holding the bamboo stick. In pain, Li YunGen’s stick fell to the ground.

"Hurry up, even if you’re hurt, it doesn’t matter." Li YunGen retreated a few steps and urged. The other three surrounded Yi Roujing, swinging their sticks wildly.

It seemed as if she could predict their moves. Yi Roujing tilted her head, dodged sideways, and leaned back, deftly avoiding every hit, her bamboo stick creating a swooshing sound as it swung fiercely.

The sound of crying and pain was heart-wrenching, and the three men ran away in pain. Li YunGen stood frozen, shocked at the prowess of this seemingly delicate woman. Four men couldn’t defeat her alone.

Watching his companions flee, Li YunGen hurriedly followed them.

Yi Roujing dashed forward a few steps, and her bamboo stick struck down, knocking Li YunGen to the ground, causing him to curl up in pain, clutching his stomach and wailing.

"Speak up, who sent you? How did you know we’d be here now? The timing was too perfect." Yi Roujing squatted down, looking directly at Li YunGen as she asked.

Li YunGen glimpsed a mix of fear and defiance in Yi Roujing’s eyes but said nothing.

"They called you Yun? You’re Li Yungen from Lotus Production Team?" Yi Roujing directly named him, making Li YunGen pause.

"Even if you don’t say it, I know. Li Xipei and Li Xijun are from the same team, but how did they know we were on the mountain, here in the bamboo forest?" Yi Roujing questioned.

"You, how did you know?" Li YunGen blurted out in surprise.

"It’s not the first time." Yi Roujing said nonchalantly, "Didn’t expect they’d still send someone to get beaten up by me."

Li YunGen appeared unsettled, realizing Li Xipei and Li Xijun had tricked him.

"What about the other question?" Yi Roujing reminded.

"I don’t know; they just told us to wait by the bamboo forest and come out when you arrived." Li YunGen replied.

"Alright, I understand. You can go now." Yi Roujing stood up, allowing him to leave, but as he got up, she added with a smile, "No next time. I’ll forgive you for not knowing this time since it’s your first offense. But if it happens again, while I can’t kill you, in self-defense, I might disable you, and the police will understand."

Li YunGen shivered, seeing Yi Roujing’s expression, knowing she wasn’t joking. Although a smile curved her lips, her eyes were cold and sharp, much like the leaders of those gangs he had met.

"I, I wouldn’t dare." Li YunGen responded.

"Whether you dare or not doesn’t really matter to me," Yi Roujing said lightly. "I’m skilled with my hands and smart with my head. If you do it again, I have many ways to handle it without lifting a finger."

"Do you know Hao Zhijian, the police officer from Tongxian Commune?"

Of course, Li YunGen knew him; he had been taken for reform many times and was a regular.

"Go ask around. Recently, Officer Hao Zhijian personally came to our team, thanked me at my home. You should be more discerning when targeting someone without knowing anything, really..." Yi Roujing spoke ambiguously, but Li YunGen knew she thought he was being foolish.

"Go on, I’ll let you off today." Yi Roujing said generously.

Watching Li YunGen flee in disarray, Ding Anmin and Xia Xingchen emerged from the corner of the bamboo forest.

"Big sister-in-law, you know martial arts?" Xia Xingchen cheered first.

"It’s nothing much, mostly just intimidation." Yi Roujing humbly said.

"Who are you kidding?" Ding Anmin muttered. Showing such skill couldn’t just be for intimidation, especially after they had heard the real sound of bamboo hitting flesh.

"But how did you learn that?" Ding Anmin asked curiously, thinking about how this person had previously been kind to her, only verbal sparring, never physical, quite commendable.

"I once met an old monk who came to ask for water and food. I gave him two mantou and a bamboo tube of water, and he was grateful and taught me a few moves." Yi Roujing spun a tale, but Xia Xingchen and Ding Anmin believed it immediately.

"Ahem, don’t tell anyone about this." Yi Roujing cleared her throat and instructed.

"Why not?" Ding Anmin asked curiously.

"Because a girl this strong isn’t usually a popular bride." Yi Roujing continued her fabrication.

"But you’re already married, weren’t you just pretending in front of my brother before?" Ding Anmin asked, wide-eyed.

"I wasn’t." Yi Roujing denied unequivocally. "Besides, your brother’s skills are definitely better than mine."

Wearing clothes makes him look slim, but he’s muscular and exercises diligently, it’s hard not to believe he could do martial arts.

Thinking of how her brother had once beaten Li Xijun half to death, Ding Anmin believed her.

"Got it, your secret is safe." Ding Anmin said openly, "But we really relied on you today."

"But how did the Li Family know we’d be at the bamboo forest today?" Ding Anmin pondered, "This place was chosen by Xingye, but Xingye wouldn’t conspire with someone to harm us like this."

"Ding Xingye wouldn’t, but he might be fooled if he genuinely believed it was about Lingzhi." Yi Roujing explained.

"How did you find the Lingzhi before? Do you know?"

Ding Anmin and Xia Xingchen shook their heads.

"I followed Song Yiluo, the Lingzhi Ding Xingye found before wasn’t just one, the previous ones were given to Song Yiluo."

"What! Why?" Ding Anmin realized something, covering her mouth and whispering, "Xingye likes Song Yiluo."

Xia Xingchen frowned at these words, "Then why would Song Yiluo want to harm us, it makes no sense?"

Ding Anmin glanced at Xia Xingchen, knowing he didn’t know about what she saw in the provincial city: Song Yiluo, Wen Chaokuan, and Li Family’s siblings reaching some kind of deal together.
