Transferred to Another World and Became a Teacher-Chapter 136 - Cultural Festival 16 - The Promise
The other teacher's presentation was water magic. He created a mountain, made spring water flow from the summit, creating a waterfall. And then, he froze that waterfall, making an ice castle. The content of his presentation was as I had advised, but he added ingenuity to the incantation. He widened the range of the freezing in order to make the ice castle as large as possible. What was impressive was how accurately he made the incantation we had worked on together his own, and furthermore, elevated it.
It was a very good presentation. As proof of that, not only Ayle and the others who watched the presentation together but also Tis clapped loudly. However, she was clapping with a very serious expression, so it was a little scary.
After we had finished watching all of the morning presentations, we bought food at the stalls in front of the east plaza for my afternoon business, and sat down at a gazebo-like rest area. Since I had heard that she was from a Baron's family, I suggested a restaurant in town, but at Tis's request, saying she wanted even a little time to talk, we had a meal at the stalls.
That being said, perhaps because they don't usually have meals like this, not only Ayle and the others but also Tis didn't seem to dislike it at all. Rather, she was happily arranging the stall food on the table.
With a drink in hand, after a simple greeting for lunch, Tis opened her mouth.
"That was a very wonderful presentation. I am impressed, as expected of a teacher from Fiddiq Academy. Will Aoi-sensei also be giving a presentation?"
"Me? I am scheduled to give the final presentation tomorrow."
As I answered, Ayle and the others made a commotion before Tis could reply.
"She’s presenting in place of Headmaster Glenn!"
"It’s something amazing, you know?"
"Is that so?"
Tis nodded honestly at Ayle and the others' words, impressed.
"...I understand Aoi-sensei's abilities. From Aoi-sensei’s perspective, what do you think of Dean?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Tis asked such a question. I felt like Dean, who was sitting next to Ayle and the others, stiffened up, but since I wasn't going to say anything bad, I decided to tell her about Dean without worrying about it.
"Dean-kun is a very serious and excellent student. Especially when it comes to the original magic he is currently studying, he is getting better grades than even the upperclassmen. He is quick to grasp the knack, so if he keeps up this effort, he will become a very outstanding magician."
As I answered, I saw Dean let out a sigh of relief. Then, Tis lowered her chin with a serious expression.
"Is that so... then, depending on his efforts, could he become a royal court magician in the future...?"
She asked this with a grave face, and I tilted my head without thinking.
"Well, depending on his efforts, it's certainly possible... Why a royal court magician? Could it be that the Stone family has traditionally become royal court magicians?"
When I asked back, Tis shook her head from side to side.
"No, it's not like that, but I want Dean to aim to become a royal court magician."
"I see."
After nodding at Tis's words, I shifted my gaze to Dean. There I saw Dean with a pale face. He must have been in the middle of eating something. He still had a fork in his mouth.
Ayle and the others were looking at this scene while tilting their heads, but I somehow realized the reason. Perhaps, Tis was a little too enthusiastic about education.
"Tis-san. It's okay. If Dean-kun keeps up his effort as he is now, he will be fine. He's already working very hard."
I said that to reassure her, but Tis looked down with a serious expression.
"There is no such thing as putting in too much effort, right?"
"Well, that's true, but..."
She didn't seem to be convinced by my words of comfort, and I didn't know what to say anymore.
At that time, the bell rang loudly.
"Ah, it's presentation time. Well then, I'm sorry, but I have to go now."
As I said that and stood up, Ayle and the others also hurriedly stood up.
"It's already that time!?"
"Let's hurry and go to the front!"
"Ah, I have to throw away the trash!"
Seeing everyone stand up, Tis looked at me with a bewildered expression.
"Whose presentation is it going to be now? Surely not all of you?"
I sighed and opened my mouth to Tis who asked that.
"It's Felter-kun's presentation, but for some reason, an additional presenter appeared yesterday, and I was told to participate by that person."
"Additional?"
As Tis picked up the trash and stood up, I nodded and replied.
"It’s Ramsay Kean-san from the Bushmills Empire. He is Felter-kun's father."
"Marquis Ramsay...!?"
At my words, Tis's eyes widened in shock.
It seems that Ramsay's name was also well known in the Karvan Kingdom. Well, he had a personality where he could speak his mind to royalty from other countries without hesitation, so it was inevitable that he would become famous.
I gave a wry smile and bowed.
"Well then, I’m sorry, but I'll be off for a bit. I think I can make time for you later, so let's continue our conversation then."
"Ah, y-yes. I understand."
I gave a light nod to the bewildered Tis and immediately headed for the plaza.
