[Good Luck!]

Zylus wasn’t getting hurt, nor did he feel anything at all. But Jace’s look said it all, and Zylus’s power now knew no boundaries, nothing of that sort.

Jace’s expression completely changed, "this aura," he paused, watching the moon, "nothing of this source can faze me."

Something began coming out of Zylus’s body, the moon reflected its shadow, rising perfectly over him, and Jace watched calmly.

Zylus bent his head to an angle, "What’s wrong?" he asked, a shard formed on the right of his face, "scared?"

"You wish," Jace played it off, "no matter how powerful you become, you will never be able to defeat the third, present order."

A black shard connected to his face, it was weird, grew out of the right side, his right eye, right cheek, right everything, was no longer there, and now, something different shaped there...

A Demonic Kin.

Yet, Zylus didn’t feel any of this, not a single thing.

"Well, of course I will." Zylus grabbed his katana, his glare shone, the same light radiating from the moon, "I’m a demon."

"Bear with me," Jace opened his arms, "The False Hydra."

The False Hydra is a mythological horror beast that allows Jace to alter memories; this was the blessing he was graced with.

The Divine Memorial.

This blessing allows the user of it to alter memories by will, for his personal desires, at any time, yet there is a condition...

He must be more confident than his opponent at all times; never a dull moment should he not be arrogant.

Just then, Zylus, with one action, appeared right in front of Jace.

Slick!

One calm, swift strike curved sideways through Jace’s body. Just like how any Spirit would, it cut perfectly through, no blood left him, but all Zylus awaited were the yellow particles that resurface once a Spirit is successfully defeated.

"You thought you could kill me that easily?" Jace grinned, "The Spirit King’s divine protection tied with my blessing." He slapped Zylus, "Nothing can defeat me!"

Bam!

Zylus, using his left hand, sent the Spirit flying backwards, hitting a thump on the tree. It seemed as though his demonic weapon wasn’t working, but what was working was his human capabilities.

That same thing troubled Medrus, because dark matter doesn’t work against one of the blessings the Spirit King holds. The transparency one, which he used to protect himself from the Demon King. Yet, never once did he mention in their bout that he’s able to pass it on to others...

"Only the top three receive this blessing!" Jace looked up, "You see? I can turn this on and off at will!"

Zylus angrily teleported right next to him, kicking him sideways, then slamming his face into a tree. He caught him by the legs, throwing him back into the terrain.

Zylus’s red eyes glowed more than ever, his anger reached to even newer heights, yet, nothing raged him, not yet.

"Hmmmh hmmmmh, hmmm hmm. Hmm hm hmmm." A beautiful hum came from Jace’s mouth; it spoke more than words, yet felt dangerous.

Zylus, surprised he hadn’t done damage to Jace yet, continued the consistency. When he teleported once more next to Jace, something he didn’t understand, changed.

"What am I doing here?" He wondered to himself, "Who am I fighting?" Zylus assumed he was battling with someone, seeing as he had the katana by his side.

For some reason, after that melodic lullaby, Zylus seemed to forget Jace’s entire existence. And it wasn’t just that, he stood in the night, the moon glowed high in the air downwards, no other students in sight, but slowly, every single memory he once had.

"Who..." Zylus paused, "Am I?" He dropped his katana, falling on his knees, looking at his palms.

"What..." His eyes looked around, "Am I?"

Soon, every memory he had, all of them, started dispersing. Yet, he still knew how to talk, he still knew how to look around, he still knew how to-.

No, he didn’t; he didn’t know how to walk or stand up. He didn’t understand the environment that surfaced around him; nothing of that sort came to his attention.

And now, a man stood in front of him as Zylus shifted his gaze upwards, "I’m your father, how are you?" He paused, "Your new name is Zylus Caelivandor." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Father?" Zylus looked up calmly, as if nothing had happened, "What’s your name?"

"Mine..." He grinned, kneeling forward, giving a hand, "It’s Jace, Jace Caelivandor. Welcome to this beautiful world, the world of Spirits."

Nothing changed; they still stood on the same terrain. But someone, in some way, Jace erased almost every memory Zylus ever had, and he couldn’t remember anything, not a thing.

Zylus looked up. He shook slightly, not him, but his hand, while he lifted it forward.

"Your enemies are anything but us, Spirits." Jace declared, giggling, his face pummeled with arrogance. "Now come, let’s go to the realm of the Spirits. It’s time we dispose of these humans; this entire academy was built to only capture you." He grinned.

"Me?" Zylus wondered out loud, "Why me?"

"Oh, it’s nothing... Nothing at all."

For some reason, Zylus’ head started spinning. He didn’t know what to feel anymore, who were his allies, his friends, his enemies, his-

"Demons are my enemies?" Zylus asked, "But... who are the demons?"

"Oh," Jace’s smile seemed too polite, "Demons are the ones who want to destroy the world. Change it for their own needs, their personal gain," then, he looked away, his expression darkened, "they want to be the Gods of this world."

"This contract we made with the humans was just so we can trick the most powerful person in their arsenal!" Jace continued, "We’re too smart!" He put a hand on his face, allowing holes through them so he can see, "Once we have you, their most powerful cadet, we can officially continue with plans!"

Just as Jace turned away, he laughed once more, and an evil tone filled his demeanour. But in that moment, Zylus, knees down, put a hand on Jace’s shoulder.

Slash!

"A gamble it was," Zylus grinned, "and I succeeded once more."

Zylus had his katana equipped in his hand, and a slice cut perfectly through Jace, in clear effect...
