Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 60: Risk-Taker
"Zylus," Clare continued, "don’t take another gamble; this time you’ll fail. You’re in enemy territory, you don’t have the warmth of fighting back here." She paused, preparing herself to send a message through his spine, "COME BACK!"
Zylus didn’t care; he didn’t care that this was a risk.
"Clare, let me ask you something," Zylus demanded, stepping forward. "Have I failed a gamble?"
She tried thinking real hard, then gave up, "So? What if you didn’t? I barely just met you."
"Then now you know," Zylus whispered, "they call me, ’The Sovereign of Uncertainty.’"
"Nobody calls you that!" Clare yelled, "But whatever, I’m not getting into your head at this point. Just find a way not die, then, you got that?"
"I got that, now hush up while I think." He lowered his voice calmly, expecting Clare not listen.
"H-!"
As soon as she was about to scream some utter nonsense into the mic, it cut off. Zylus giggled in the process.
"She screamed so loud her mic broke, didn’t need it either way."
"What’s he smiling about?" Fred whispered, "I need to protect Lucas while also keeping my dignity." He said, "It would be hard for me to go past this vicinity."
Zylus started stepping forward, "Hey, Fred Forefuck? Is that your name?"
"It’s Foreless, Fred Foreless."
"Yeah, whatever," Zylus grinned, his cloak cushioned up around him as the air pushed forward, "You let your poor little sister cry yesterday..."
"I will apologize to her once she awakens." He blinked, and the air swiped his hair to the right.
"So she had to cling to me." Zylus stopped moving just as he distanced himself five meters apart from Fred, putting both hands in his pockets. "She told me how good I made her feel last night; that was the only thing that kept her awake."
"What?" Fred’s glare darkened, "That’s a bluff."
"A bluff?" Zylus laughed it off, "The reason she got caught was because of how tired she got from last night! She even cleaned it off afterwards, making her my first."
"I think of my sister with high regard," Fred declared, "Eldra would never fall for your subduction."
"I swear on the demon king that she confessed romantically to me." For some reason, Zylus did the sign of the cross, even though he vowed towards a demon.
"Somebody like you wouldn’t care about your own king’s death if it assisted your selfish desires," Fred said, "bluffing against me will not get you anywhere."
Zylus began moving around, not closer towards Fred, but just circling him from the opposite direction of where Lucas was, on the right side of the forest.
"Oh, is it now?" Zylus asked, "Do you truly think I’m that low?"
"After what you have done, of course, I will," Fred responded, watching Zylus closely, though to Fred, his movements seemed unnecessary.
"Perfect," Zylus whispered, now standing in a perfectly opposite direction from where Lucas’s unconscious body lay, slightly to the left of Eldra.
"You’re not doing anything here, just surrender, I’ll bestow a calming death, without pain." Fred declared, slightly bending down.
"You don’t get it yet," Zylus said, "I don’t understand it either, the reason you turn into a fucking monster in danger."
"I do not recall any of that; all I have ever known is a man as dignified as myself." Fred continuously waited, not moving a muscle, until his opponent made the first move.
"How about the time you got bullied by Lucas, and I came in and saved you? Also, when did Noctis take your body? Do you recall anything while he grabbed you? Is it possible that you are the one undignified?" Zylus smirked, repeatedly asking several questions.
"What are you getting at?" Fred asked, feeling the tension in the room slightly.
"Who, me?" Zylus wondered out loud, "It’s just the fact that you’re not being yourself, not the person I once knew." He said, his tone softer and held warmth.
A rough nerve struck Fred’s head suddenly as he blinked, "What was that just now? Never mind," He raised his fists, "Just fight me already-"
Just then, Fred felt an aching pain in his head, and he stumbled his hand on his face, blinking several times before preparing himself once more. Allowing Zylus just enough time to use his ability without failure...
"False Body Deception Technique," Zylus pointed his gaze, just close enough to Lucas, readying his katana at his side, "Die in hell."

Blood poured soundly, as Lucas’s body had just detached, by a sharp slice through his neck.
Fred opened his gaze and noticed Zylus was missing, but just as he realized, it was already too late.
"Fuck, I got some blood on this katana now," Zylus waved his katana in the air, the blood dropped onto Lucas’s body, "This is for the greater good, you have to understand that, Fred. I don’t take any joy in it, nor do I care for someone’s life at this point."
Zylus stared into the sky; it felt as though the dark moon pointed back, "I’m just a cold-blooded killer, one that does something for their selfish means."
Even though he had said this, inside, Zylus truly felt saddened. He once was a human too, but he wasn’t going to die until he could finally exact revenge against the ones who donated this power to the Spirits.
Fred looked down, anger seeped through him at this point, "I didn’t protect a human life..."
Even Zylus looked at him, worried; this state felt like even if Zylus tried, he wouldn’t be able to touch him.
"I’ll take my own as soon as I’m finished with you." Fred declared, standing tall, head down, hands down, aura seeping throughout.
"I don’t deserve to live anymore, after I couldn’t protect a human life that sat next to me."
Is this guy for real?
"But before I can do that..." Fred bit his lip, blood dripped on the floor, "I must kill you."
