Chapter 77: Ch 77: Ye Tian

Type null spells.

As grand as it may sound, these were a set of forbidden spells crafted by the very first mage of humanity.

At first, these were created to act as a helping hand for the mages. A helping hand that could potentially give them a push towards the stage of transcendence.

However, as time passed by, mages began to realize how big of a danger these spells posed to the caster. The powers of these spells far surpassed the level of gods, and just like the saying goes, ’Nothing is free in this world’.

Once the spell was cast, each second costed a life. A life that was strong enough to cast those spells. In much simpler words, lives of 8th circle mages or above.

It was an absurd condition and the world acknowledged that. With time, these spells faded away from the memories of the world.

Although, that seemed to be the case until now...

Ye Tian’s entire body was illuminated in an otherworldly glow. The mana circuit he had formed on his forehead seemed to have etched itself into his eyes. His mind raced as the pressure began to spike.

Engulfed in the white flames of mana inside the barrier, he gritted his teeth—unrelenting to let even a small squeak escape from his mouth.

Slowly, shallow cracks appeared all over his skin while his muscles tore apart. Pain became so unbearable that he—himself wanted to tear his limbs apart.

Blood slowly made its way through every opening it could find on his body—seeping out of the sides of his mouth.

’Th...This gamble b-better work out.’ even amidst a perilous situation like this, his mind seemed to be drifting in a completely different direction.

Under the immense pressure of mana and pain surging through his body, every instance turned into an agony of a millennia.

Even though his soul was strong enough to withstand the pressure of countless gods, his body was on the verge of shattering apart.

’Fucking hell... Work already!!!’ Just as his body was losing its composure, the mana circuit on his forehead began to emit a bright light.

Ye Tian’s eyes widened as he noticed the sudden increase in illumination of light inside the barrier.

The light intensity kept rising with every passing moment. Soon, the bright shine forced Ye Tian to close his eyes.

But to his surprise, the burning sensation, the feeling of his limbs being torn apart—bits by bits, he couldn’t feel anything anymore. Rather, it felt like a contrast to what he was feeling just a second ago.

Almost like how a toddler would feel in his mother’s embrace, he felt a golden light embracing his existence. A comforting warmth enveloped his body while his soul felt the true presence of peace.

Feeling such a contrast of emotions, a smirk crawled onto his face. His eyes fluttered open, gazing upon the ever-beautiful mysterious view.

"Well, I guess at least luck is on my team."

In front of his eyes stood a giant universe. Stars, constellations, and nebulas that shined across the vast starry plain were nothing more than a piece of decoration for the real deal.

All the universal lives were connected to each other by a certain thread. A thread that was visible in Ye Tian’s astral form. Just as he moved his gaze a little, he saw a point where all such threads converged.

Realizing that he had found what he was looking for, Ye Tian smiled before looking above, towards the endless plain.

He wasn’t just simply looking ahead. Rather, he was looking far beyond what was visible to the eyes.

He was looking beyond the starry plains, towards a domain that only the higher gods could see. A domain where the worlds rules reside.

Just above the point where all such threads combined, a gigantic golden orb pulsated with golden energy.

For even a normal god, such a view would’ve costed them their lives. Why?

The toll of witnessing the true rules that ruled over the infinitely expanded universe was nothing short of a death wish.

Although, Ye Tian still retained some of his soul power, that continued to passively protect his astral form.

Looking at the orb, he noticed a minute dark particle that was comparable to the size of a sand grain.

Shocked, he rushed towards the orb only to see something that he never imagined to witness.

The orb was impaled from behind by what seemed like giant chains manifested by the demonic aura. It was simply an event that he had never heard of.

Restricting the greater dao of time like this would’ve been impossible even for someone like him at the peak of its powers.

Although dao’s and greater dao’s crumble away and come into existence along with the universe, they hold enough powers that rival even the absolutes.

"Could this be done by someone who has surpassed the realm of absolute...?" Ye Tian muttered, falling into a state of self-doubt.

Questioning himself, his powers, his existence...

Just as he was about to doze off, he was jolted awake by a barely audible whisper.

"So... You’re fine, huh?" Ye Tian looked at the Giant orb, his mind calming down.

’Yo...u are not...strong en...ough yet...lord...’

He widened his eyes as a thought flowed into his mind, recognising it immediately, he smile faded away. Rather, an emotionless, calm, and decisive state had taken over.

Without thinking further, he raised his hand—extended towards the orb, he closed his eyes as he commanded.

"Show me all the future outcomes of my fight, take the lives of archmages connected to me as the price."

The orb churned, and golden light shimmered across the whole dimension as if it had accepted the price.

Ye Tian’s mind and vision became blurry. A golden string unraveled itself from the orb, slowly drifting towards Ye Tian before finally connecting to his head.

Golden light covered his whole body in an instant, serving the purpose of both protection and showing him his future.

One after another, thoughts flowed into his mind effortlessly. Every thought was a lifetime that he could witness from start to end as if it were the reality.

Within seconds, he had witnessed hundreds of thousands of world. And as unfortunate as it could be... He died in every single one of them.

He was killed every single time by no one other than his own brothers blade. Even though his consciousness was travelling through different lifetimes, his astral body showed his emotions clearly.

Demonic mana enveloped his body, spreading in the air like a crackling thunder while His eyes shimmered in a crimson aura.

"That’s...all I ca...n show you...lord...I wish yo...u luck on your journey..." The world crumbled away as this thought flashed before Ye Tian’s consciousness.

Ye Tian slowly opened his eyes. He was back in his physical form.

He raised his eyes to look at the archmages but was stunned to see that they had already crumbled away.

The only ones remaining in the hall were him and James, who was still unconscious.

Then, he closed his eyes to check if he had faced any internal injuries. But, as he tried to concentrate, his mind kept screaming at him.

’Getting killed by the same tricks again and again!’

’Absolute Demon, my foot!’

’Even dying at the hands of Qing Yue would’ve been better than this!’

He didn’t rebel against any of these statements, because even he knew that his mind was just trying to subconsciously show him the truth.

Even to him, some things made no sense at all.

Starting from his reincarnation, his memories were awakened in a way that it almost felt like he had lived a completely different life.

The qi to have vanished from the face of the earth as if it never even existed.

The white rank dungeon to form right where he was staying.

Yin and yang to appear in the so-called Divine Treasury of the System. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Someone who could create such a perfect copy of my brother’s soul.

The Great Dao of Time to have been reduced to such a miserable state.

And the most important part was to think someone could manipulate Ye Tian to the point where he had willingly not only accepted the mana but also prayed to some lower-class gods for protection.

Ye Tian broke his meditation stance as he fell back.

A smile crept onto his face and slowly turned into a giggle.

The giggle then turned into a heartfelt cackle.

He gripped his stomach as he laughed in such a heartfelt manner after a good long eternity.

Moments later, he got up in an instant, a grin still lingered on his face.

With some soft steps, he approached the giant crack formed by Ye Zhao on the castle wall.

"You’ve been continuously provoking me, but it seems like I was too foolish to understand."

"Someone above the Realms of Absolute or not, Congrats, Mr. Unknown, for you have successfully piqued my interest." He muttered as his eyes drifted towards the vast sky filled with divine mana and killing intent. His voice felt calm and soothing, yet eerily scary.

He raised his right hand and softly snapped his fingers.

The mana that he had been accumulating in his body, all of it, dissipated with a single snap of his fingers.

Although this kind of action was accompanied by a serious backlash, he simply did not care about anything.

His eyes, nose, ears, and mouth—all were dripping with blood, yet he continued to smile.

Then, he raised his hand once again and gently tapped at the center of his forehead.

As soon as he did that, his body was outlined in an otherworldly glow; his hair started to float in the air without any kind of restraints.

A small chuckle escaped his lips as he muttered in a soft, calm voice.

"Absolute Demon or not, Ye Tian... Is back..."
