Chapter 648: Chapter 648 She Cried

"Why did you come over?" Mason Nightshade reached out his hands, holding her reddened, cold ears, frowning at the chill in his palms, and rubbed them, "Why did you rush up here without even wearing a coat? What if you catch a cold?"

His tone sounded stern, but anyone with sense could tell it was more about concern. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Aurelia Shaw glanced inside the meeting room, then looked at him, "Mason, I need to talk to you."

Mason’s heart skipped a beat under her gaze, "Go warm up in my office first, wait for me for a bit, okay?"

"No, I want to talk to you now!" Aurelia rarely acted so willfully.

Mason pursed his lips, looked at her for a moment, then nodded, "Alright." He turned back to the other shareholders in the meeting room, "You all go out first, we’ll continue the meeting another day."

The shareholders were so shocked by the scene before them that they were scared out of their wits, and they all quickly left.

Soon, only Mason and Aurelia were left in the meeting room.

"Bring over a cup of hot milk." Mason said to Gustavo Yates, then led Aurelia to a chair where they sat down.

With a light lift of his arms, he effortlessly placed her on his lap, encircling her in his arms, rubbing her small hands for a while, then brought them to his mouth to warm them with his breath, "Why are your hands so cold? Where did you go? Didn’t you say you were going home?"

Aurelia turned around, sitting on Mason’s lap, facing him directly, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her peach-blossom eyes reflected the flawless handsomeness of his face, "Mason, do you know what my dad did to you?"

"Don’t overthink it." Mason stroked her face.

"What my dad did, is it serious?" Aurelia asked.

"What he did has nothing to do with you. Don’t overthink it, I promised you I wouldn’t touch him." Mason softly comforted her. He knew she was insecure and easily overthought things.

Aurelia clutched at Mason’s clothing, "Is it serious enough for him to face execution?"

Mason pressed his lips together, not speaking.

Aurelia already knew the answer. She closed her eyes, leaned over to embrace Mason, her face pressing against his neck. Her face was a bit cold, while his neck was very warm, "I’m sorry."

"Sigh." Mason sighed deeply from his chest, "Didn’t I say your dad won’t be in trouble? It’s been so long since then, and there’s something fishy about it. I’ll find out what happened, trust me, alright?"

Mason suddenly felt a cool sensation on his neck, his body stiffened instantly. Pulling her away, he saw two streams of clear tears falling down her face.

Mason’s heart twisted with pain, holding her face in his hands, he wiped her tears away with his thumbs, "Don’t cry, don’t cry, alright?"

Mason lowered his head to kiss her tearful eyes, but unexpectedly, she suddenly lifted her chin, her lips meeting his, taking him by surprise as she actively kissed him.

Sitting on his lap, she was slightly taller than him. At that moment, she bent her head down, passionately kissing his lips, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, as if wanting to merge herself into him.

Mason was stunned for a moment, but excitement quickly took over his mind. He hugged her, supported her bottom, placing her on the conference table, with one hand propped on her side and the other cradling the back of her head, deepening the kiss between them.
