Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 617: Criticism from the Senior
Upon arrival on set, Aurelia Shaw changed into her costume.
This was a scene they'd shot before, so it didn't require much preparation time.
Sawyer came over and asked, "Having just rushed here and starting filming immediately, can your body take it? If not, we can postpone until tomorrow."
Aurelia Shaw was about to speak when a stern female voice rang out first: "Director Sawyer, when I first knew you, you weren't this lenient with any actor, being considerate of their physical well-being. Back when we were filming, no matter how harsh the conditions were, the actors would immediately get in the zone and start filming. The young actors nowadays are being spoiled by directors like you."
Sawyer murmured to himself: The conditions back then were nothing like now, and that was ages ago. Moreover, I've got a gem who never needs multiple takes. Who's like you, harsh enough to scold all the young actors in a crew when you join?
Amelia Quigley, seeing Sawyer unmoved, felt dissatisfied but had no choice.
Aurelia Shaw chuckled and then said, "Director Sawyer, let's just shoot now. I'm familiar with this scene and there's no pressure."
Amelia Quigley gave Aurelia Shaw a glance, her impression slightly altered, but upon hearing that, she still frowned and said, "Young people shouldn't be overconfident. Immersing into a character isn't that simple. Sometimes, you need to enter their psychological world, experience their perspective as if you were that character in the script."
Sawyer hummed internally: My precious gem doesn't need you to teach her acting; her skills are even superior to yours, a veteran actress.
He was quite looking forward to Amelia Quigley's reaction when the filming began later. It would be absolutely brilliant and completely unexpected, making her regret saying those words.
Sawyer secretly delighted, feeling no shame at having set up his long-time friend.
"Ms. Quigley is right," Aurelia Shaw responded humbly with a smile.
Sawyer instantly felt a disparity and hummed internally: Calling her senior, but when speaking to him, calling him grandma — the treatment difference is too stark!
"Not a bad young actor," Amelia Quigley whispered to Sawyer.
Sawyer proudly lifted the corners of his mouth, pushed the glasses up his nose, and snorted, "When was my judgment ever off?"
He selectively forgot how much he had troubled Aurelia Shaw during her audition with Amelina Collins back then.
Amelia Quigley glanced at Aurelia Shaw again and sighed, "So many good actors fall victim to the media's pen."
Sawyer glanced sideways at her, knowing she must have seen those reports online about Aurelia Shaw, and protectively said, "You believed them too?"
Amelia Quigley was taken aback.
Sawyer continued, "You've been in the entertainment industry for so many years; how can you still make this mistake of viewing young actors with tinted glasses? Some young actors indeed lack proper conduct, but there are many who earnestly want to work in this industry."
Amelia Quigley was stunned for a moment, then smiled, "Maybe after being in this business for so long, I've been stained a bit black too. Yes, I was wrong. Thank you for the guidance, Director Sawyer."
Sawyer smiled and said, "I, too, was slapped awake once upon a time. I've made these mistakes and am in no position to criticize you. We all just need to be more mindful in the future. The waters of this industry are murky enough; we few should not add to the confusion."
Amelia Quigley curled her lips, looked at Sawyer, "I just want to see how good this actor you've praised so highly really is, enough to make you reflect on life here."
Sawyer smiled knowingly, "Just wait and see."
