Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 54 Watching Her Sleep
Chapter 54: Chapter 54 Watching Her Sleep
Eleanor Spencer’s eyes were slightly red, with tears swirling at the bottom. She bit her lower lip, lowered her head, and sullenly nodded, saying with a voice tinged with a sob, "I understand, director, I will do my best."
Her eyelashes obscured her eyes, but a trace of vicious cold light flashed in her pupils—Aurelia Shaw!
——
"I’m sorry, I want to be alone for a while," Aurelia Shaw said politely to the enthusiastic young stage crew girl as she returned to the lounge, washed the blood stains off her face, took off the heavy costume, and wearily rubbed her temples.
The stage crew girl noticed the fatigue on Aurelia Shaw’s face, blinked with sympathy, and nodded vigorously, "Okay, you rest well, I’ll take the costume to the wardrobe department."
Aurelia Shaw smiled and nodded at the girl, and once she left, Aurelia took off her shoes and lay down on the double sofa. Her slender legs curled up, her back forming an arc, curling up like a shrimp. Her heavy eyelids struggled to stay open, and soon she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Time passed unknowingly.
Aurelia Shaw only felt a chill and slowly opened her eyes to find a man’s black blazer draped over her, a faint mint scent lingering on it. She furrowed her brow as awareness gradually returned, and in her blurry vision, she saw a tall figure seated on the opposite sofa.
A deep, magnetic voice flowed from the man’s throat, "Awake?"
Mason Nightshade sat on the sofa, his long legs crossed and his slender fingers intertwined on his lap. His gaze was dark and serene, staring intently at Aurelia Shaw. No one knew how long he had been sitting there watching her.
Aurelia Shaw’s mind cleared instantly. She sat up, holding Mason Nightshade’s blazer, and frowned as she asked, "How long was I asleep?"
"Three hours and twenty minutes," Mason Nightshade replied with a furrowed brow. He had watched her fall asleep last night, and although she hadn’t slept too late, she was still so tired. It seemed he needed to make sure she went to bed earlier in the future.
"Did I sleep that long?"
Aurelia mumbled to herself. After speaking, she paused, feeling a bit cold. She had been awakened by the cold, and when she glanced down at her attire, her face flushed red. She glared angrily at Mason Nightshade, "Mason Nightshade, you’re shameless!"
Mason raised an eyebrow, dissatisfied with her accusation, "What makes me shameless?"
Aurelia angrily tossed the blazer at Mason Nightshade’s head and hastily fixed her disheveled collar. She always slept in an unrefined manner, wearing only a thin undergarment beneath her period costume.
"Taking advantage when people aren’t aware, staring who knows how long, yet you dare say you’re not shameless!" Aurelia’s eyes glared at Mason Nightshade with indignation, "Scoundrel! Rogue! Perv!"
Mason reached out his distinctively jointed, elegant hand, and removed the blazer from his head, waving it in front of Aurelia, "Yes, I’m a scoundrel, rogue, perv. I watched you sleep with a bad posture while you were dreaming, kindly covered you with clothes, and locked the door to prevent anyone from barging in."
Mason leaned back against the sofa, a slight curve appearing on his thin lips, "I wonder how you would describe someone who is ungrateful and falsely accuses someone who helped them?"
"Did I ask you to help me?" Aurelia retorted, raising her chin at Mason Nightshade.
She looked every bit the ungrateful wretch.
Realizing this ungrateful wretch was someone he had raised, Mason Nightshade didn’t know how to feel.
"Sharp-tongued!" Mason squinted his eyes, suddenly stood up, and his tall figure pressed towards Aurelia Shaw—
