Tome of Troubled Times-Chapter 903 (1): Wipe That Area
“Oh? You know me that well?” Ye Wuming’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “Why don’t I seem to recall our hearts being interlinked? Don’t go projecting your crotch-filled thoughts onto me.”
Ye Jiuyou sneered. “You’re so righteous, so noble, yet it’s as if your mouth’s been sewn shut. You can’t even say one honest word to your so-called partner.”
Ye Wuming said coolly, “That’s because he hasn’t earned the right to be called a partner.”
“Oh, so your lips aren’t sewn shut; they’re clamped shut with the toughest metal in the world,” said Ye Jiuyou coldly. “He’s not fit to be your partner, huh? Well, is he fit to kiss you then?”
And with that, she leaned down and pressed her lips to Zhao Changhe’s.
Ye Wuming: “You, what are you doing? Wait, wait—”
Fusion certainly had its benefits, but this was no ordinary fusion. It was the kind that brushed against self-destruction. And she had forgotten one critical point: Once she handed over control to Ye Jiuyou, her own position was even more miserable than Piaomiao’s had been.
Back then, Piaomiao could at least seize control of her body at will. Cui Yuanyang could not forcefully take control of her own body if Piaomiao did not allow it. The reason Piaomiao got teased so mercilessly was that she was too nice to resist and got herself deceived by the little green-tea bitch. But in the Ye sisters’ case, Ye Wuming had handed over control voluntarily. As for expecting Ye Jiuyou to obediently and courteously hand it back? Well, there was no chance in hell that was going to happen.
She could only watch helplessly as Ye Jiuyou kissed him. She could not even stop it. In the spiritual sea, she struggled and pulled with all her might, but it was useless.
Ye Jiuyou, meanwhile, endured the pounding headache and gently kissed Zhao Changhe.
As she did, she transmitted, “I don’t care what you think. My husband is hurt, and I’m healing him. Either help or shut up and stay out of the way.”
Ye Wuming: “...”
When it came to healing, Ye Jiuyou possessed the power of creation, but although undeniably powerful, it was not necessarily tailored to medical needs. At the very least, it was not as good at recovery as the Azure Dragon’s power of rejuvenation, which brimmed with the vitality of all flora and fauna. That... was Ye Wuming’s domain. She carried the essence of the Four Idols, and healing was one of her specialties.
And Zhao Changhe had been hurt for her. By every measure, whether it be emotional or logical, she should be helping heal him.
Almost instantly, the tug-of-war in the spiritual sea vanished. The pain in Ye Jiuyou’s head faded away, replaced by a soothing coolness spreading from within. That cooling force flowed through her lips and into Zhao Changhe’s body.
And then, Ye Jiuyou felt something else. It was a very interesting sensation.
Ye Wuming’s behavior was exactly like a helpless girl being forced down. Struggling, refusing... then going limp after being whispered to. Just laying there quietly, resigned to being devoured. One could almost imagine that ashamed little expression—eyes shut tight, head turned aside, lips trembling....
And the moment Ye Jiuyou imagined that on Ye Wuming, delight bloomed across her heart like a firework.
“What exactly are you conjuring up in that messed-up head of yours?!” Ye Wuming’s voice rang through the spiritual sea in a tone that made it clear she was clenching her teeth.
Ye Jiuyou: “...”
Though their hearts were certainly not interlinked, they did at least have a spiritual or mental connection now. With her thoughts being so loud, there was no way she could have kept them hidden.
Ye Jiuyou blinked, eyes sly as she kept her lips on Zhao Changhe’s and transmitted, “You mean you don’t feel that way?”
“Of course I don’t!” Ye Wuming fumed. “I’m the one doing the healing! You’re the one imagining I’m some shy little maiden!”
“Oh really?” Ye Jiuyou grinned wickedly. “Then why don’t you try clicking your tongue? Go on.”
Ye Wuming said furiously, “What? You’re the one controlling the body, how am I supposed to—wait, why are you even using your tongue for this?!”
“Do you really not know, or are you just pretending? This is called hidden nectar through silken passage, jade essence in entwined flow. It enhances the healing effect...”
“Where did you get that nonsense?! Healing is about matching energies, not... whatever this is!”
“But we’re both the spirit of this world now. We can define the rules ourselves. Maybe we couldn’t before, but now that we’ve unified, we absolutely can. Isn’t that right... my dear little sister?”
“...”
Right, this world now bends to my definitions. I’ve genuinely become the Heavenly Dao of the world, and I’ve already reached the Other Shore.
This was what Luo Chuan had sought: the power to define the world itself, with the fates of countless creatures merely a footnote.
Now that the sisters had become one, they truly held that power.
The only issue was that the right to define the principles and laws of the world had fallen into Ye Jiuyou’s hands, not hers. After all, she had willingly handed it over.
So now, if Ye Jiuyou claimed that a “hidden nectar exchange” was necessary for healing, then that truly was the case.
Ye Jiuyou had already forced her way into her husband’s mouth. After all, she was merely a loving wife tending to her injured husband.
Ye Wuming, face flushed, could only tremble slightly as her very soul quivered.
Passing qi through a kiss was still manageable. But this felt far too much for her. And since they shared the same body, every sensation was hers to feel as well.
She wanted to cry out for Piaomiao and ask how she had ever managed to bear this.
However, Ye Jiuyou would not even give her that much time to panic. “You said you’re the one who was actually healing him, didn’t you? Then come on and heal him.”
Before the thought had even faded, Ye Wuming felt Ye Jiuyou relinquish partial control of their body. The sensation of Zhao Changhe’s lips grew sharper and more intimate, as it truly was her who was doing the kissing now.
Ye Jiuyou’s voice whispered playfully in her mind, “Move. Why aren’t you moving? Didn’t you say that you were actively healing him and that you weren’t some shy little maiden subjected to indecent things?”
Ye Wuming snarled silently, wrapped her arms around the man below, and fiercely returned the kiss.
Deep within the soul sea, Ye Jiuyou crossed her arms, leaning to the side with a wry smirk. She could not help but feel that something about this whole situation just felt... really, really weird.
As much as Ye Jiuyou wanted to savor the sight of Ye Wuming looking like a complete fool, unlike the other women in Zhao Changhe’s life, this one made her feel a sharp stab of jealousy—an unbearable discomfort.
So even though she had orchestrated all of this, she suddenly did not feel like watching anymore.
She reclaimed control of the body in one decisive motion as if yanking Ye Wuming off and tossing her aside. “This is my husband. What right do you have to kiss him? Back off and do your support work.”
Ye Wuming flared with rage. “You—”
Before she could get the words out, Zhao Changhe gave a faint groan, murmuring in his sleep, his voice carrying a trace of pain.
It was a sign of recovery. His soul had begun to stir.
Ye Wuming swallowed her retort and quietly resumed channeling the Azure Dragon’s power. No matter what else was going on, healing Zhao Changhe came first. Everything else could wait.
Ye Jiuyou, too, set her grievances aside for now, focusing on the treatment.
In truth, even amid all their bickering, neither had ever withdrawn their attention from Zhao Changhe’s body. Both could feel the ruin that it had become, the ravages of time carved into his body.
At times, even Ye Wuming had to admit that fate, with all its invisible hands, was real. After thirty years of slumber, Zhao Changhe’s deepest insights had all revolved around the flow of time. Luo Chuan’s powers just happened to align perfectly with Zhao Changhe’s field of comprehension, which allowed him to endure the attack. If it had been someone whose path was not steeped in time, they might have died instantly.
Some things were simply meant to be.
And now that he’d survived this calamity, if he could recover without lasting damage, it would be a blessing beyond measure. He had truly come into contact with the laws of the Other Shore and even seen firsthand what lay beyond that threshold. Once he digested it, his path would likely surpass anyone else’s.
But that “if” was no small matter. Bringing him back without him suffering any of the aftereffects or consequences was no easy feat. The lingering energy of the original Heavenly Dao alone was something few could cleanse, let alone trying to return a body that had been torn to shreds to pristine condition. It simply was not happening anytime soon.
Ye Jiuyou continued to transfer energy to him through the kiss, driving out the last traces of the original Heavenly Dao from his body. Zhao Changhe’s pained murmurs gradually faded, giving way to deep, peaceful sleep.
She slowly sat up, gently smoothing out the furrows on his brow. Her fingers lingered for a moment as she gazed steadily at his resting face and whispered, “I’ve known him for less time than I’ve spent just watching him sleep like this, wounded and unconscious.”
Ye Wuming remained silent.
“And both times, it was because of you.” Ye Jiuyou’s voice dropped. “What exactly does he owe you?”
Ye Wuming pressed her lips into a thin line and said nothing.
Ye Jiuyou settled into a seated posture, eyes closing. “Originally, I wanted to mimic what Yangyang did to Piaomiao and make you feel entangled with him and unable to do anything about it, but I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want you doing anything with my man in my body, not for another second. While he’s still unconscious, we should find a way to separate.”
Ye Wuming finally spoke, “There are two problems.”
“Speak.”
“First, Changhe’s recovery is far from complete. While his condition has stabilized, that’s all it is. The remaining treatment is still critical. If we separate now, our cultivation may drop below the Other Shore Realm, and the healing will become less effective... Is that really a good idea?”
Ye Jiuyou was quiet for a moment. “And the second?”
“Second, maintaining this state helps both of us comprehend the mysteries of the Other Shore. We might each break through even after separation. If we were to split apart now, wouldn’t that be a waste?”
Ye Jiuyou suddenly let out a laugh. “I would’ve thought you were the one most desperate to separate. And now look at you, making arguments for staying fused together.”
Ye Wuming’s tone was cool. “I chose to fuse. Why would I be the one dying to split apart? I’m not schizophrenic.”
“Schizophrenic...” Ye Jiuyou repeated the unfamiliar term under her breath. She did not quite understand it, but she got the gist of it. “Is that the reason Zhao Changhe sees you as... special?”
Ye Wuming gave no reply.
“Forget it.” Ye Jiuyou sighed. “Seeing as you put his healing first and crossing to the Other Shore second, I’ll let it go. We’ll keep things as they are for now and cultivate individually. As for what happens next... we’ll let him decide.”
