Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week-Chapter 411 - 409 Aozawa’s Prank _1
Takashimaya Times Square.
When it came to shopping, Emily definitely preferred this place. On the one hand, it was very close, and on the other, the selection was quite extensive. She wanted to buy teacups and headed straight for the eighth floor, which was dedicated to household items, furniture, and bedding. Among these were many unique brands that couldn’t be found elsewhere in Tokyo.
The place teemed with foreign tourists. Even those who didn’t speak Japanese felt at ease shopping here.
Emily had her golden hair tied into twin pigtails and wore a dark red tank top with a fluffy black and purple miniskirt, complemented by thigh-high boots. She looked incredibly cute. Standing next to Katerina, one could easily mistake them for mother and daughter. As for why the "mother" looked that way, it was probably related to a genetic mutation.
"After we buy the teacups, let’s go get something else." It would be a shame for Emily to come out and only buy teacups. She wanted to shop for more items.
Katerina asked, "What else do you want to buy?"
Emily pondered seriously, spread her arms out, and said, "I’m not too sure, but with money in hand, you can always buy something."
"That’s true," Katerina replied.
A little boy standing nearby looked up with admiration and said, "Big sister, you’re so cool! It’s no wonder you’re a sixth-grader, being able to make adults listen to you. Teach me your ways!"
"Who are you calling a primary school student! I’m already an adult, you little brat!" Emily’s temper flared on the spot, and she waved her arms, ready to teach the kid a lesson.
Katerina quickly grabbed her hands and said helplessly, "Come on, don’t stoop to arguing with a child."
"Let go of me!" Emily kicked her legs wildly, appearing determined not to let the matter go.
As the elevator doors opened, the little boy ran off, making a face and taunting, "It’s because you’re so short!"
"I’ll butcher you!" Emily was instantly enraged and chased after him as soon as her feet hit the ground.
The little boy turned and fled.
Emily hadn’t run more than a few steps before her feet suddenly slipped, and she tumbled to the ground. In that moment, it felt as though a steel spike had pierced through her tailbone. The intense pain made her sit on the ground, exclaiming, "Ow, that hurts!"
Katerina remarked dryly, "I told you not to stoop to his level. The floor here is slippery."
"Why didn’t that little pest slip, then? Damn it, next time I see him, I’ll smack him so hard his butt will blossom!" Emily fumed, unable to see the boy’s figure anymore; the little rascal had slipped away quickly.
Today is really not my lucky day. Emily would rather blame her bad luck than admit that her physical abilities were inferior to a grade-schooler’s.
She carefully got back up, her plans changing once more; she now intended to head straight home after getting the teacups.
Katerina asked somewhat helplessly, "Do you want me to carry you?"
"No! You didn’t even help me catch him!" Emily replied grumpily, limping towards the home goods store.
Katerina muttered, "He’s just a kid. It didn’t feel right to hit him."
"Provokers, regardless of age, must be taken down. That is how you respect your enemies." Emily was still seething and had no mood to browse any longer. She casually entered the nearest home goods store.
「...」
The store had rows of shelves containing everything from stationery to kettles, backpacks, towels, and more. The variety was quite comprehensive.
Emily was too angry to talk and limped between the shelves. Being short, she had to tilt her head back, stand on tiptoes, and strain to scan the items above.
Watching her in this pose, Katerina was dying to laugh. However, she knew that laughing now would definitely earn her a spot in Emily’s little notebook. Don’t let her small size fool you; she could be quite petty. Katerina suppressed her urge to chuckle and leisurely followed behind.
Emily walked past a row of shelves and turned the corner, intending to check out that area.
Immediately, she saw what looked like a large amber gem. No, on closer inspection, she realized it wasn’t a gemstone at all, but the eyeball of a creature. Its giant face was dominated by that single massive eye. Its body was as green as grass, and its large size obstructed the path as it squatted there.
"Ah!" Emily shrieked in terror. She tried to back away, but her foot slipped again, and she fell, exclaiming, "Ah!"
Before Katerina could even ask what had happened, she caught sight of the Cyclops. Even just squatting, its body towered over two meters tall.
"Die!" Katerina took preemptive action and swung a punch forward.
The Cyclops caught her fist with one hand and flung her towards the nearby shelves.
BOOM.
The struck shelf toppled onto the adjacent one, starting a domino effect. CRASH after CRASH, a pile of shelves collapsed.
The store clerk at the front desk yelled, "What’s going on?"
The Cyclops stood up.
"Ah!" The clerk was so frightened that he ran for his life. The customers in the store also screamed as they ran out, shouting, "Monster!" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
A shadow enveloped Emily’s body. Her legs were trembling, partly from the pain of her falls and partly from fear. Anyone strolling through a mall would be scared witless if they suddenly came face to face with a Cyclops around a corner. It was a testament to her strong mental fortitude that she hadn’t wet herself.
"Katerina, are you okay?"
"Mhm." Katerina stood up, her expression grave. "This fellow’s quite something, but still not as good as Sotoku. Just a low-level Monster."
"ROAR!" The Cyclops roared, striding towards Katerina.
She stood her ground, with no intention of dodging, her expression incredibly resolute.
As the Cyclops threw a punch, Katerina raised her hand to block. Her feet left the ground, and she twisted her waist. It was as if she were a hula hoop spinning around the Cyclops’s arm. Then, with a kick upward from below, she landed a heavy blow on its giant eye.
BANG! The Cyclops let out a wail of pain and hastily retreated.
Having gained the upper hand, Katerina landed and immediately leaped again, landing a punch on its eyelid.
"ROAR!" The Cyclops bellowed, swinging its left hand to swat Katerina away. But she preempted it by bracing her hand against its right shoulder, flipping behind it, and driving her right hand, like a sharp knife, directly into its ear.
SPLAT!
The hand-knife, like an exquisite blade, pierced the Cyclops’s ear. Katerina grabbed hold of a vital organ in its head and yanked it out forcefully.
WHOOSH! Blood spilled onto the ground. She was holding something akin to part of its brain in her hand.
The towering figure of the Cyclops swayed and then fell to the ground with a thud. The shelves were flattened, and the intact teacups took another hit, shattering instantly. Blood poured ceaselessly from the Cyclops’s ear.
"HUFF." Katerina exhaled. She could handle a Cyclops of this level.
Strange, why would a Monster of this level materialize here first?
"It’s not that strange. The giant Monster disappeared in less than a few seconds. I guess the stronger the Monster, the harder it is for them to break through the world’s barrier, and vice versa," Emily said, having recovered her senses. She stood up from the ground and moved closer to examine the Monster’s carcass in more detail.
Suddenly, a bulge on the back of the Cyclops swelled and then burst open. A blood-colored claw, with an eye in its center resembling a fly’s compound eye and filled with tiny eyeballs, shot out towards Emily’s cheek.
Emily’s azure pupils nearly popped out of her head.
Katerina reacted swiftly, stomping hard on the hand and then grinding it against the surface of the Cyclops’s corpse.
"Are you okay?"
DRIP, DRIP—the sound of water hitting the ground silently responded to her question.
The air in the store grew silent. Katerina, pretending not to hear, turned and walked away. "I’ll call Morimoto over to handle this."
"Mhm." Emily’s hands tightly clutched her skirt, her pale cheeks blushing like ripe little apples.
I hadn’t even drunk any tea before leaving home, so why was *this* happening? Emily, on the verge of tears, consoled herself. Anyone would be startled in that situation. It isn’t my fault.
Emily turned and walked towards the shelves, trying to find a clean towel. Meanwhile, Katerina was making a call and shooing away tourists, telling them not to come near.

After leaving the housewares store, I’ve noticed a flaw in Fate Weaving. The creatures it creates can be bizarre in shape, but their strength isn’t very impressive. Or rather, the strength of the creatures conforms to the common sense of this world. Their acidic saliva and the sudden emergence of eyeball-bearing ghost hands from their backs can’t be considered supernatural powers; they’re more akin to natural instincts. For instance, cheetahs can run fast, cats move in silence, and chameleons can camouflage themselves. The creatures Fate Weaving creates can overpower normal humans easily, but in front of martial artists, they seem less formidable. Or perhaps, is it because I haven’t written them with lethal intent?
Aozawa turned his head to look at Emily, who was quietly picking up a towel, and he smiled again.
Setting those thoughts aside, using them to scare people is indeed very amusing. Emily’s reaction when she was scared makes me unable to stop laughing. This girl, though verbally tough, is unexpectedly honest in her physical reactions.
Aozawa decided to spare the unfortunate Emily and look for a powerful martial artist who could be written to death.

SAT personnel quickly arrived at the scene, swiftly cordoning off the entire floor to ensure a clear passage was available.
Morimoto Chiyoda led the team herself. Her long black hair was tied into a single ponytail, and she wore the uniform of a Police Director, her shoulder epaulets gleaming brightly. She approached and surveyed the Cyclops’s carcass on the ground, whistling. "Cool."
"Indeed," Ito Otome agreed. She walked up to the Cyclops and pinched its face with her gloved hand, her excitement evident. "So this is a Monster, huh? Amazing! An extraordinary physical composition, and the muscles are still warm. I’m really curious about its internal structure. Why does it have only one eye? The brain—oh my God! What stupid thing have you done!"
"I had no choice at that time. It was either it died or I did," Katerina responded with a shrug.
Ito Otome’s sharp eyes scanned the area and noticed an off-color patch on the floor. She touched it. "What’s this? It doesn’t quite seem like blood. It has a faint smell."
Instantly, Emily’s face flushed crimson with embarrassment, unsure of what to say.
