To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 25: I’m glad I could help you get to know Hwa more
Chapter 25 - I'm glad I could help you get to know Hwa more
Chin-hwa walked into the house and discovered they were already taking out the food from the kitchen. Ah, where were they when he was sneaking out a beer?
Anyway, it didn't matter. As long as they didn't see him in the act.
"Oh, Hwa," Hae-won called out to him. "You're down already? Come, it's time to eat."
"Okay," Chin-hwa said and started walking towards them. Then, his mother asked,
"Where's Kang-woo? Didn't he come down with you?" Chin-hwa paused.
Ah, yes. They would ask about Kang-woo. After all, they sent him up to spend time with him.
"I'll call him out."
Chin-hwa turned around, leaving them to stare worriedly at him as he left.
Hae-won let out a worried sigh and Baek-Hyun placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Thanks," Hae-won said, appreciating the gesture of concern, but he couldn't help but worry about his child who was going through a lot once again.
Chin-hwa got to his door and stopped.
'Should I knock?' He wondered. 'It's my room, so I don't need to knock, but what if they're doing something I shouldn't walk into?'
That should've given him a reason to knock but instead, it made him want to barge in and see just what it was that they were doing.
He opened the door and heard laughter. Yun-Tae seemed to have been amused by something and was laughing and... Kang-woo was laughing as well.
They were both laughing.
Ah, why did this bother him so much? He didn't want to think of it and didn't want to care that such a thing was going on but it was bothering him more than he could understand.
Yes, it was probably because he still had feelings for Kang-woo and because Kang-woo had no idea about his feelings, not a single clue, it made him mad.
"Oh, you're back." Yun-Tae said, noticing Chin-hwa at the door and Kang-woo turned to face him.
Ah, how would they have noticed when they were engrossed in their little world, laughing and having fun?
'Gosh, why am I feeling so bitter?' Chin-hwa asked himself. "Well, I've been standing here but it looks like you guys were rather comfortable, since you didn't even notice when I opened the door."
"Well, that's because..." Yun-Tae was just about to state why they were laughing but Chin-hwa turned his back and said,
"Well, it's alright, I guess." He waved his hand. "I didn't want to disturb you but Mom says to call you down. Dinner is ready."
With that, he walked out, leaving the two quite confused at his attitude but there was not much to say anyway. He didn't do anything wrong or say anything wrong, yet his back looked so cold.
"Then I guess we can wrap this up." Kang-woo said with a polite smile and Yun-Tae nodded, bowing his head.
"Yes, thank you so much." Yun-Tae said. "I got to know so much about you but most especially Chin-hwa. Ah," he blushed. "I didn't know he was such a funny person. He never talks a lot and just says the necessary things, but we still love him like that. Getting to know more about him made me glad. This was a nice opportunity."

Yes, the initial goal was to know more about Kang-woo so he could get closer to him but along the line, he found himself more curious about Chin-hwa. As a friend, he felt ashamed that he didn't know anything about his friend.
Getting to know more about him was fun and it was very well explained when it was Kang-woo doing the talking. Maybe it was because he was the one who knew him best. He was very grateful.
"I'm glad I could help you get to know Hwa more." Kang-woo said with a smile, and Yun-Tae blushed but hurried ahead so Kang-woo would not notice him gushing about him.
'I got to know more about Kang-woo and Chin-hwa. I'm so happy, hehe.' But before reaching the door, Kang-woo called out,
"Uh, can you hold on a second?" Yun-Tae stopped and then turned, managing to compose his expression.
"Yes?"
"Do you mind if we exchange contacts?" Kang-woo asked, bringing out his phone and a shocked Yun-Tae belatedly responded,
"Ah, s-sure." He said, slowly reaching his hand to take his phone. "I... I'll give you my number."
Ah, he couldn't believe that was happening. Kang-woo asked for his number.
'Did he fall for me already just after spending time with me a little?' he thought, his mind was quite hazzardrous. 'I can't help but wonder what he suddenly decided to take my number. Eeee, this is the best day of my life.'
He handed Kang-woo back his phone and hurried out of there, and only then did he realize he should've taken Kang-woo's number as well.
'Oh no, I messed up.' he thought and glanced back at the room. Could he still go back to take the number? No. He shook his head. 'I'll just wait for him to contact me, and then I'll have his number as well.'
Kang-woo stood there in the room and then glanced around. Nothing changed about the room and the things they used to play with together were all still there.
He was glad Chin-hwa did not throw anything away and then he asked himself,
"Why didn't he throw them away?"
Was he because he still cherished them, the memories? Was it that he didn't have the heart to throw them away? Or... He was waiting.
He walked towards the shelf that held framed pictures. Most of the frames were turned away, hiding the pictures, and those pictures all had him in them.
'Guess he didn't have the heart to throw them away but he didn't have the heart to look at them either.' He thought and picked up one of the pictures. There was no dust, which meant they were being taken good care of as well.
The one he picked had a picture of them in their highschool uniform. If his memories served him right, then that was their first day in high school. They were so excited, most especially Chin-hwa, as always.
He let out a little laugh but as soon as he realized something, his laugh, as well as his smile fell and he placed the frame back on the shelf, just as it was.
He walked out of the room and closed the door, but did not walk away yet.
Standing by the door, he recalled that they did not take their high school graduation picture, and neither of them attended the graduation.
And... It was his fault.
He sighed and walked away from the door, heading to the dining table. No use dwelling on thoughts like that at the moment. What he had to do was make up for it all.
