To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 23: Well, not with me
Chapter 23 - Well, not with me
Of course, Chin-hwa knew point blankly that the people at the door were none other than Kang-woo and his family.
That was why he wanted to hurry up to his room before they walked in. His family probably already knew that he had met up with Kang-woo the previous night since they practically sent him to stay with him while he was out late.

So, were they trying to act as the icebreakers? Every one of them was a witness to how much he was hurting after Kang-woo left, so what did they hope to achieve by doing that?
"Hwa," Kang-woo called out softly with a smile so warm and radiant that it melted Chin-hwa's heart. "I'm here." He said.
"I... I see you." Chin-hwa said lowering his head to hide his face from his gaze.
"Haha, did I startle you?" He asked but Chin-hwa shook his head.
Kang-woo noticed someone staring at him from inside the room and looked in to find Yun-Tae.
"Ah, it's you." He said. "I met you the other night. You're one of Hwa's friends, right?"
"Ah, yes." Yun-Tae got up right away and walked up to them. "It's Yun-Tae. I... I sat next to you in the karaoke room."
"Oh, right. It's nice to meet you again." Kang-woo said with a smile, and Chin-hwa exchanged glances at both of them.
One was shy and quite obvious of his feelings, and the other was clueless, smiling, putting no meaning to the awkwardness of the Omega in front of him.
He shut his eyes.
As much as it tore his heart, he knew this was an opportunity that would help bring Yun-Tae a step closer to being close to Kang-woo.
"Ah, perfect timing," Chin-hwa said. "Kang-woo, are you busy right now?"
"No, I'm not. Do you need me for something?" Kang-woo asked.
"Yeah, well, not just me. I was looking over our old photo albums with Yun-Tae but I can't seem to remember most of the things that happened." He said, and there was a slight change to Kang-woo's demeanor but it was not that noticeable since Chin-hwa did not catch on at all. "So, could you help me explain to him what you, what we were doing in the pictures?"
"You want me to look over the photos with you?" Kang-woo asked but Chin-hwa shook his head and said,
"Well, not with me. I need to go discuss something with my mom, so it'll just be you two. Since you're free, I can count on you, right?" Chin-hwa asked. It was like throwing all his eggs in a single bucket. A shaky bucket at that.
"And... Why am I doing it?" Kang-woo asked. "Is there a reason why I need to explain them to him?" He glanced at Yun-Tae, showing no hostility but Chin-hwa had begun to notice that his bucket of eggs was tilting.
"Well, no serious reason." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "Yun was curious, so I wanted to help but I'm busy. But you're not and you were in every single one of those pictures, so you can do it. Can't you?"
Kang-woo went silent, and Chin-hwa glanced back at Yun-Tae, who looked rather uncomfortable with this. What if Kang-woo refused? What would he do then? He wouldn't have the courage to face him another time.
"Well, if that's the case," he smiled and walked past Chin-hwa. "Then I guess I can help out. Leave it to me, Hwa. I'll show him everything."
"Okay," Chin-hwa said and walked out through the door, shutting it on his way out.
Once they were alone, Kang-woo's face looked slightly saddened, but he brightened up right away and turned to Yun-Tae, whose heart wouldn't stop beating.
"Then, which book should we start with?"
Chin-hwa headed towards the kitchen and took a long hard look at the fridge. Ah, his family didn't like to see him drinking. For some reason, they just didn't like the view.
They didn't ever ban him from drinking, and he could drink, but just not in front of them. In that case... He took the bear can from the fridge, took a glance around him, and then headed towards the backyard with the beer.
At the back, there was a swing bench where his parents usually sat down and acted all lovey-dovey, and it was right in front of the little playground they used to play in when they were kids.
Chin-hwa sat on the bench, slowly tilting back and forth with his legs on the ground as the anchor, and then he opened the can.
Bear didn't taste that good, but it had a rather relaxing property that had him drinking once in a while.
Of course, he could not afford to drink during school days because then he would wake up with a headache. And if he did not get a headache, he would oversleep with bits of his memories missing and that wasn't good.
He gulped it down and squinted his eyes. It was cold and... Just cold. Nothing more to it.
The concentration of alcohol in that particular beer was no more than 12%, so he would do just fine.
'I took the first step.' he thought, slowly sipping on the beer. 'I bet they'll get closer soon enough. And then...' he paused, the beer can pressed to his lips as they quivered. 'And then Byul might fall in love with Yun, and they will start dating, and I... I will get over them.'
It was his perfect plan and fulfillment of carrying out that favor.
Yun-Tae only asked for his help to get closer to Kang-woo; he never asked him to make it possible for them to end up dating, but Chin-Hwa felt that should be the end result of his help.
After all, it was the first time anyone was asking for his help, so he would carry it out till the end.
"Ah, there you are," he heard a familiar voice and raised his head to find Kang-woo's Hyung approaching with a cigar in hand. "I thought I might find you here," he approached and stopped in front of Chin-hwa while flinging off the ash on his cigarette. "How's it going, Little Hwa?"
"Ah, Nari Hyung, it's you."
