Chapter 185: The picture on Kang-woo’s laptop background

The next week, it was time to do their presentation. The one they all painstakingly worked on in the previous week.

After the presentation, they were to all submit their filled forms of the place they wished to work in during their internship program.

Chin-hwa talked to his dad about it. Baek-Hyun. He wanted to know if there was a good design company he and the rest of his friends could work in.

He didn’t want to get in through connections. He wanted to work hard on his own, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t accept a little help from his family, either.

"So, is it true that we can all get into Icheon?" Seoung-bo asked in whispers as they sat in the backseat.

The first set of people had begun their presentation, so the lights were turned off to allow the information in the projector to show clearly.

"You’ve asked that for three times now," Dong-cha said.

"That’s because it’s Icheon. ’The’ Icheon. It’s literally the place most of us dream of working in after we graduate, so why wouldn’t I ask over and over? I just need to make sure it’s not a dream." She said and the others just smiled.

"It’s true," Chin-hwa said. "My dad said he could get us in for our internship program, and no one would find out about it. So, no one will know we got on through special treatment."

"That’s so cool," Yun-tae said. "If we make a good impression in Icheon, we might be able to go back after our graduation."

"That’s what I hope for as well." Beom said, tilting his glasses.

Icheon was the most popular design company that has several branches across the country and beyond.

If they could work there during their internship then things would be smooth sailing for them after they graduate.

"Next is Lee Kang-woo," the professor called and Kang-woo stood up. Chin-hwa stood up as well.

They were partners for the presentation.

"Did you carry your laptop?" Chin-hwa asked and Kang-woo nodded.

"Of course."

They got to the front of the class and then Chin-hwa attached the projector before Kang-woo opened his laptop.

So, as soon as the laptop came on, the first image that showed on the whiteboard from the projector was Kang-woo’s laptop background, which had a sleeping Chin-Hwa in it.

Everyone saw this and started whispering. Some laughed at how cute he was, and others felt embarrassed on his behalf because he had been caught red-handed.

Chin-hwa and Kang-woo, who didn’t know what was going on, wondered what everyone was whispering about, only to turn around and find Kang-woo’s laptop background on display for everyone to see.

Chin-hwa saw this and covered hai face in shame while Kang-woo quickly tapped on the file to take over the screen.

But the damage had already been done.

Everyone was already talking about it and the professor cleared his throat.

"You may begin once you’re ready," he said and Kang-woo nodded, his face flushed in embarrassment.

He glanced at Chin-hwa who was also looking flushed.

"Sorry, Hwa," he whispered, but Chin-Hwa shook his head.

"It’s alright," he said, his heart racing.

He wasn’t offended. He just... Didn’t expect it.

They got through the presentation in one piece and as they got back to their seats, Dong-cha teased them.

"Ah, I’m so jealous," she said. "Seoung-bo, how about I save my lock screen with a cute picture of you." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Don’t even think about it." Seoung-bo said and they laughed.

Chin-hwa tucked his hand inside his bag and brought out a chocolate bar.

"Hey, you’ve been eating a lot of snacks lately," Yun-tae said and Chin-hwa shook his head.

"I don’t know why either. I suddenly started having unnecessary cravings." He said and opened it. "But I’m sure it’s just for now. It should stop in a while."

Kang-woo stared at Chin-hwa. That was what he said the previous week. But the cravings only increased and never went down.

At times, he would enjoy eating sweets but then the next moment, he’s sick of the sight. Only for him to go back to those same sweets the next day.

He didn’t know how to explain that.

Once class was over, they all submitted their forms and made their way out of the hall, heading for the snack store.

On their way there, Chin-hwa got a text from Hae-won asking if he could come home.

So, from there, they headed for their family house.

"Mummy," Chin-hwa called as he walked in.

"Oh, my Hwa. You haven’t visited in two weeks," Hae-won said, cleaning his fake tears with a handkerchief. "Now that you’ve found the love of your life, have you decided to abandon me?"

"That’s not it." Chin-hwa said and laughed. "School’s been very busy,"

"I figured." Hae-won said, flinging the handkerchief aside. "Baek-Hyun told me you’re going to do your internship in ’Icheon’."

"Yeah," Chin-hwa answered. "Dad said he’d help so my friends can also go there."

"Very well then. You’re one step closer to your future." He said. "But that aside, I wanted to ask." He watched Chin-hwa pick up an apple.

"What is it?"

"Well," Hae-won didn’t know how to bring it up and just decided to say whatever came to mind. "How’s your body lately?"

"My body?"

"Oh, I mean how do you feel? Are you experiencing any sort of change? Did your appetite change? Are you having... You know, mood swings?"

Chin-hwa paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Uh, I don’t think there’s any change in my body," he said and Hae-won sighed in relief, a little too soon though. "But..."

Hae-won quickly raised his head.

"But what?"

"I’ve been having a lot of unnecessary cravings for sweets these days," he said. "I eat a lot of fruits and mostly strawberries. I like strawberries, but then I don’t want to eat strawberries anymore and want to eat a chocolate bar. I don’t understand it anymore and it feels like I’m never satisfied." He looked at his mother innocently and asked, "Is that what you mean by a body change?"
