To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 168: It’s sailing indeed
Speaking of going overboard, Yun-tae quickly realized that giving four scooters was not a big deal at all as soon as he saw Tae-won giving out his gifts to the kids.
He handed Chin-hwa, Myung-woo, and the twins little boxes, and inside were car keys. As soon as they saw the keys, he cleared his throat.
"Kids these days should drive the latest," he said, but it clearly looked like he couldn’t be bothered to go the extra mile while thinking of presents and just got them the most trending things.
"Thank you, Samchon." They chorused, and he nodded, looking good about it, but Ga-ram sighed. He was so lazy.
(Note: Samchon means Uncle as in relative while Ahjussi is like an older person old enough to be your uncle but isn’t related to you)
"Anyway, Yun-tae," Ga-ram called. "Hae-won and I picked out a few things for you." He said, and Yun-tae wondered what those things were, only for the doorbell to ring and have people trooping into the house with different clothing bags from famous designer shops.
"The tickets weren’t my only gifts." Hae-won said. "Since you liked the clothes I got you before, I thought it would be nice to get you more of them."
"And I was out of thoughts on what to get you so I thought it was fine." Ga-ram said. "I hope you like them. Next time, let’s go shopping together. All four of us."
"Four?"
"Chin-hwa included, of course." Hae-won answered, dropping his hand on Yun-tae’s head and ruffling it.
Yun-tae felt deeply touched. He could no longer express them in words. All he could do was bow his head with tears gently streaming down his cheeks.
"Yun," he heard Myung-woo’s voice and raised his head. Myung-woo wiped the tears off his cheeks and said, "There, there. You’ll get puffy eyes if you keep crying."
"But it’s not like I’m doing this on purpose," Yun-tae said and Myung-woo laughed softly.
"Of course, I know that," he said, his hands going down to pinch Yun-tae’s chin softly. "If you simply think of this as something that will keep happening in the future, will that make you feel better?" He asked.
Their gaze was locked, and honestly, for a moment, Yun-tae forgot that his elders were present.
"Oh my," Hae-won exclaimed, his hand over his mouth as he snickered like a gossip mom. "I guess this shop already started sailing."
Yun-tae’s face flushed red.
"It’s sailing indeed." Ga-ram added, snickering along with him. "Look at those little cute flags hanging up."
"I-i-i..." He looked away from Myung-woo at once and bowed his head, fearing they might’ve been rude. "Sorry,"
"It’s nothing. It’s nothing," Hae-won waved it off. "It’s nice to see a little live drama one of these days."
"We’re getting old, and stuff doesn’t happen so often anymore." Ga-ram said and sighed in regret. "The kids are all grown up too so soon we won’t get to see things like this."
This only made Yun-tae flush more. So, they were aware of his relationship with Myung-woo already? Well, he still hadn’t said yes, but who would believe that when he blushed and gushed at everything Myung-woo did to him?
"A-anyway," Yun-tae said. "thank you so much. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and care."
"Don’t sweat it."
"Ah, there was one more," Tae-won said, referring to Yun-tae whom he hadn’t given any gifts. "I might’ve forgotten to get you something but how’s this?"
He took out a checkbook from his inner coat, wrote a few things on it, and was about to hand it to Yun-tae when Ga-ram slapped him on his shoulder, scolding him.
"You’re supposed to wrap it as a gift." He said and Tae-won nodded.
"Right, right." He looked around and saw a few torn wrapping paper. Since he had the car keys in little boxes when he handed them to the twins, Myung-woo and Chin-hwa, he guessed it was only fair to wrap the check up as well.
He finally wrapped it and then handed it to Yun-tae.
"Here, Merry Christmas." He said and though it felt a little awkward, Yun-tae took it while smiling.
"Thank you," he said.
"Use it to get yourself something nice." He said.
Yun-tae took off the wrapping paper and saw the check. He nearly fainted when he saw the amount in it.
He could hardly count last the seventh number before falling back into Myung-woo’s arms.
"Am I dreaming?" He asked but Myung-woo tapped his nose and said,
"No, cupcake. You aren’t dreaming."
"Then, this..." He looked at the check again. "This is real?"
"I think this is equivalent to the amount used to buy one car. So, take it with an open heart, Hwa."
Yun-tae couldn’t understand. Just how rich were these people that they could toss around four super expensive cars and even a check of that same amount without a single hesitation?
Alphas were... Really extraordinary.
"Here, Yun-tae," Baek-Hyun said, handing a similar box to the one he got for Chin-hwa to him. "I was planning to give the other pair to Kang-woo, but I believe he won’t mind if I give it to you." He said, his eyes shifting to Kang-woo who shook his head. "Merry Christmas,"
Yun-tae took the box and smiled.
He had no idea what it was but given everything he had received, he believed this one was also extraordinary.
The house was filled with a warm atmosphere, laughter that could pierce through any cold, and quite a bit of chatter with the sound of plates and cutleries clattering away as they all ate together.
It was an atmosphere Yun-tae never thought to experience on a Christmas day. He always thought this atmosphere was far into his future when he finally found his fated pair and created a family together.
But he didn’t need to create a family first to experience it. The family found him.
"Kang-woo," Yun-tae called as soon as they were done eating. "Can I speak to you for a moment?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Chin-Hwa glanced at them, having a feeling of what they were going to talk about, and sighed.
His chest suddenly tightened up for no reason. It wasn’t like anything was going on so he didn’t need to worry.
"Alright," Kang-woo said, standing up from his chair. "Let’s go."
